Omens were ubiquitous; she prepared a meal and seated herself to observe them all. She had not truly encountered any of this, having been largely concealed, not due to age, but because Caelan had never permitted her to attend a ball. It was intriguing to observe her as she witnessed Luna Elizabeth bustling about, issuing directives, appearing somewhat flushed from her responsibilities. Daisy smiled at the woman while standing and taking a moment to breathe, her hand resting idly on her belly, gently rubbing it. She contemplated how Caelan would react to the announcement of a baby brother or sister at this stage in life.
She observed Daisy seated and gazing at her, withdrew her hand from her abdomen, and Daisy arched an eyebrow at her while smiling. Luna Elizabeth approached, exclaiming, “Thank goodness, Daisy. Please assist me; I am somewhat fatigued today.”
“What?” Why me?Daisy gazed upward at her.
“Daisy, I trained you for a year, did I not?” she sighed. “I could truly use your assistance today.”
“Have you informed Caelan?””
Luna Elizabeth shook her head, “Not even Ronan yet, be quiet.” Kindly assist me by verifying that the ballroom is being properly arranged; I believe I demonstrated this to you previously, correct?”
“Indeed, you did, but it occurred a long time ago, so I do not recall it clearly.”
Luna Elizabeth interrupted, “You’ll be fine,” and guided her to the foyer. “Pack the colours, Daisy, in the correct order.” That is all the information you require. “Proceed, proceed, proceed,” and she was propelled towards the ballroom.
Daisy sighed; did she not have three daughters to assist her? This ball was intended for them, yet they were absent. She shook her head; it was not in her nature to decline assistance, especially after Luna Elizabeth had just confided that she was expecting Alpha Ronan’s child. She smiled to herself, knowing Caelan would likely be displeased, already having five sisters. She hoped for a boy. Would exacerbate his irritation.
Upon entering the ballroom, the omegas were actively arranging tables. She joined them, and they responded with smiles and attentiveness. She assisted in the table setup and the room layout as per the diagram displayed on the wall. Ensured that all tables were arranged with the designated colours and in the specified order as directed. Black, White, and Grey in that sequence.
By dinner time, the venue was prepared; she smiled at the room, noting that it merely required fresh flowers on the tables, which she knew would be arranged on the day of the event. Departed and discovered Luna Elizabeth in the Alpha’s office; I knocked on the door, and everyone present turned to her. She smiled and acknowledged the room before redirecting her focus to the Luna. “Luna, I have fulfilled your request.”
“Thank you, dear; I genuinely appreciate your assistance.”
“It is acceptable,” she smiled directly at her. “Is there anything else I can assist you with?””
“Unless you possess exceptional culinary skills.”
Daisy replied, “No, I apologise.”
“That concludes everything.” Luna Elizabeth smiled at her.
Daisy departed in search of Ella, as they were scheduled to have dinner and a movie night this evening.
Caelan’s Perspective
He and Mason stood on the top step in front of the pack-house, awaiting the arrival of the first packs for the mating ball. Alpha Kaiden of the Silver Moon Pack arrived several hours ahead of schedule. Caelan had anticipated being observed as the man exited his Mercedes, impeccably attired in a three-piece suit, with freshly cut and styled hair, and a clean-shaven visage.
He gazed directly at Caelan and smiled, “Alpha Caelan Ley, it is a pleasure to see you once more.”
“Alpha Kaiden, are you in good health?”He believed it was unwise to encounter him again and wished to keep this man away from Daisy.
“I am indeed,” Kaiden affirmed. “As requested, I have brought 20 of my unmatched ranked members and elite warriors.” Masculine and Feminine
Caelan acknowledged that it was his mother’s initiative to request only ranked members and the highest-ranked warriors. She disapproved of the situation but felt compelled to accept it; she had been seeking suitors for her daughters, although they were largely unavailable. It was evident to all that the girls were intensely drawn to the triplet Betas upon their arrival. It was merely a conventional Mating ball for all participants.
“Welcome, I trust that my mother, Luna Elizabeth, has prepared your room for you.” Within the Caelan wing of the pack house. Alpha Kaiden observed Caelan’s smirk, aware that he had ensured his distance from Daisy’s room. “That is acceptable, Caelan Ley.” It will not impede my acute olfactory perception.
“I am confident that it will not.” “This way then.” Caelan entered the room where his mother awaited, accompanied by half an omega to assist with the luggage.
Observed Alpha Kaiden smile at his mother, “Luna Elizabeth, a pleasure to see you once more.”
“Thank you, Alpha Kaiden. I will escort you to your room.”
“I would like to make a brief stop first.” His gaze shifted to Caelan. “Where is the charming Daisy?” I possess a present for her.
Caelan anticipated its arrival. The man desired her and intended to pursue her. Fortunately for Caelan, he was already aware that she was his Mate; however, this did not alleviate his irritation towards the Alpha. “I believe she is presently unavailable, apologies Kaiden.”
“It can wait,” he remarked with a smile. Turning away from Caelan, I said, “Please lead the way, Luna.”
Caelan was already inclined to strike the man directly in the face. I possessed a gift for Daisy and should have anticipated that the man would arrive fully equipped to enchant her and attempt to seduce her.
Merely endure for one additional day. He was aware that Amelia would not refuse Hudson, thus his struggle was partially victorious. Daisy, conversely, had been rather irritated with him for permitting Hudson unrestricted access to Amelia following the Pack run.
She had received a caution regarding her attendance. What Hudson would entail. He had entrusted her with the decision to participate in the Pack run, which she chose to do, fully aware of the associated risks. He had no intention of obstructing Hudson; if Amelia desired him, so be it. It was Amelia who had provoked Hudson and initiated the game of hunting the prey. Thus, their copulation was essentially orchestrated by Amelia. Although Hudson was undoubtedly thrilled by her speed, she had never previously run that fast. His wolf enjoyed it, necessitating an actual chase rather than mere play.
Daisy had continued to evade him; upon seeing him approach this morning, she deliberately turned and walked away. He had no intention of approaching her, as he was merely en route to the gym, while she appeared to be returning from the library, promptly re-entering it.
He had neglected it, required physical exertion, was aware he would confront Alpha Kaiden today, and, frankly, was reluctant to do so; thus, the gym served as his outlet for frustration.
Beta Ruby and his two identical siblings arrived with their Alpha, all three smiling and dressed in nearly identical attire: black slacks and short-sleeved dress shirts in varying shades of green. “Alpha Caelan, it is a pleasure to see you once more.” Beta Ruby approached and extended his hand.
