Caelan stared at her. “Because he tried to kill you.”
“Not good enough.” She replied, her eyes glowing around the edges.
He told her, “Calm down.” “We can discuss it later.”
“Why not now Alpha?”
Daisy, I have a name, please use it.” Caelan rubbed his temples. He hated when she used his title. I preferred her saying his name, regardless of tone.
She was frowning at him now, didn’t seem to understand how much he hated her formal address, she didn’t need to do that ever, just stared at him.
Because we talked. Joe has repeatedly declined. “Yes, but since then, I have learnt he’s not my father, so why can’t I just go and ask him why? He did it why?He could tell she was getting angrier by the second.
“He won’t tell you what you want. Won’t tell Joe or I the answer either.” Caelan reasoned with her.
That could be because you tortured him.
“I would not do that.” she shouted at him.
Caelan sighed, “Fine, Joe take her.” He knew she would go on an Alpha rage, and her eyes were glowing now.
“Caelan I don’t think that is a good idea,” Mason said immediately.
“Neither do I, but…” he pointedly looked at her and Mason. Perhaps she should see his depraved ramblings for herself.” Her anger had made her eyes glow, and he didn’t want to fight her after the last one he had seen had taken Belinda to stop her.
Daisy turned and left his office, grabbing Mason’s arm and pulling him with her because she knew she couldn’t leave without him.
Caelan didn’t want her to see John, but seeing his current state might deter her. She would let Caelan cast him down.
Sitting in his chair, he mind-linked the cell guard to let John’s daughters in. Mason and Daisy were on their way, and they wouldn’t be let in until Maree and Marie left. Received approval.
After sending Mason his orders, waited for the result.
Daisy’s View.
After Caelan told her sisters John was sick, he clarified that he was insane, making her sad. She wanted to see him despite being denied. To discover why?
Daisy wanted to know why he hurt her, even though he didn’t have the same drive or desire. Understand his reasons, whatever they were.
Why would he abandon her after 28 years as her father?
When Caelan agreed, she left his office before he changed his mind. Grabbed Mason and dragged him out of the office, knowing Caelan would have the cell Guard stop her without Mason. He still had issues with her.
Having s*x twice in 24 hours probably didn’t help.
After leaving the pack house, she let go of Mason. He stopped after a few minutes with a hand on her arm, and when she looked at him, his eyes were glazed.
If Caelan changed his mind, she would march into his office and scold him. Alpha or ex-mate, he couldn’t keep changing his mind. She was nearly erupting when Mason looked at her. His shocked expression said it all. Her anger was obvious.
“Calm down.”
“If he’s changed his mind.” she growled.
He hasn’t. Daisy took off towards the cells with Mason following.
“How did you get so mad? It was a 10-second conversation.”
“The man ticks me off.” She muttered, and he did! Sometimes she wanted to punch him in his face.
I can see Daisy, He’s not bad. I’m surprised he showed you John.”
She said, “I’d have come on my own anyway.” She would.
Daisy, do we need a repeat of your last visit? He enquired, sounding worried.
She sighed, “I guess not. I’d be mad at him, not you.”
“You think that’s smart? Now he sighed.
Mason, he’ll give me another Alpha Order.
Daisy noticed that he didn’t say anything, looked at him, and didn’t seem happy about her statement, but they both knew it was true.
“The man has some serious issues, put him in therapy Mason” she shouted.
Daisy, he doesn’t need therapy. If he gets his Mate, everything will calm down.”
“Send him to find her already. I dislike being his constant target.”
He joked, “He knows who she is, has to wait for the full moon, for her to scent him out.”
It made her frown “What? How?”
Already scented her. I suppose the Goddess let him.” He shrugged at her.
“I hope she can handle his grumpy behind.”
Mason snorted, “I’m sure, she’ll give him a run for his money.”
“You know who it is?”
Mason nodded, “Of course I do… No, I’m not telling you who she is.”
“No need to know. Just get her to the Mating Ball, because he’ll be too obsessed with her to bother me.”
He snorted, “You hope.” Fully entertained. Daisy glared, “You’re an a*s.”
“A Royal pain, I know.” He laughed. Shaking her head, Daisy. He seemed to mock his ancestry.
Maree, the older sister, whispered, “It’s not him,” as they emerged from the cells. “What happened to him?”
Daisy said, “I don’t know,” “I only found out about this when you did.” She hugged them both and said, “I’ll try and find out, let you know when I do.” They hugged her back for a moment, then let go and left. That was probably her first family moment with them since they were young. They had never been close to her. Was fond of bouncing her baby sisters on her knee.
Daisy sighed and looked to Mason. He waved a hand towards the cells and the guard let them pass. Her nose wrinkled at the smell of rogue, and she forgot he’d gone rogue and wondered why. Afterward, remembered. Seeing him hanging from the ceiling, I wondered if this was his daily routine and why he wouldn’t talk.
“John?She asked softly.
He spoke “Ah, you’re still alive I see.” She saw a depraved gleam in his eyes and voice.
I’m Daisy, John.”
Snort, “My little monster.” He laughed, “Killed anyone yet?”
Daisy’s eyes widened; she’d never hurt anyone, never wanted to. Mason touched her back “He’s insane Daisy, don’t listen to him.”
“Oh, little Daisy, she’ll kill her mummy.”
“What? His words shocked her, she stammered.
He laughed maniacally, “I’ve seen it you know, kill her you will”
Daisy stared at him, he was insane, he raised her without a mother. Her father wasn’t real, so how could she kill her mother?
I try to stop you. Make you leave. But then I see you killing her—I can’t.”
“I don’t have a mother.” she said.
“Daisy come on.” Mason said, “he’s insane.”
“Come in Daisy, let me kill you to save you.”
Shaking her head, “You’re not my father.”
“I was once until I saw you as you are. A monster.”
“I’m not a monster, I wouldn’t hurt anyone.” She disagreed.
“You sent the Alpha insane already Daisy,” he laughed. He’ll kill you.”
Mason pulled her away suddenly, and she pulled at his arm to return, “Wait it doesn’t make sense, Mason let me go.”
