The Alpha’s Possession – Chapter 170

Measure

“This is not amusing, Caelan.”

He dismissed it, stating, “You and I must convene to thoroughly discuss our history; it is a matter that requires resolution.”

“Why? Please refrain from addressing it, Caelan. I have resolved the matter and moved on. I do not wish to discuss it.” She conveyed to him candidly.

He frowned at her once more, stating, “I would still like to discuss it with you and clarify certain matters.”

“I do not require your explanation,” Daisy shrugged. “You acted according to your own motives. As the Alpha, I understand you are not obligated to justify your actions to me.”

“Indeed, I do,” he leaned forward and exhaled deeply. “Daisy was insufferable.”

“Indeed, you were,” she concurred. “However, it belongs to the past, Caelan. Leave it there.”

“Daisy,” he scowled directly at her.

“No, Caelan,” she replied, shaking her head. “I underwent years of therapy to address it. Perhaps you require the same.”

He appeared utterly astonished by her assertion, as did Mason. She glanced between them, contemplating which revelation startled them more: her experience with therapy or her audacity in suggesting he required it. She opted for the former, enquiring, “Did your parents not inform you?”

“No,” Caelan replied, shaking his head.

“I am astonished, given that they approached me, ensured my well-being, and provided a wolf therapist, covering all expenses. Clearly, the man was oblivious.” “I am well, Caelan, regarding last night and yesterday.” She shrugged. “Why do we not simply disregard it?” It was an error on both our parts.

He resumed frowning at her, stating, “I do not believe it was a mistake. However, we should defer this matter for the time being.” It may be prudent for both of us to take some time to contemplate the matter. Reassess the situation in approximately one week.

Daisy exhaled, “Why?” We have mutually decided to relinquish it.

“I entangled you, Daisy; there may be…” he paused.

Daisy sighed; she realised he was concerned about the pup. She could address that issue, as it had only been a few hours, and in contemporary society, there are measures available for dealing with one-night stands involving unprotected intercourse. “I will consult Dr. Maurice,” she informed him, “as he can provide me with a morning-after pill.”

“No,” Caelan exclaimed vehemently, rising to his feet and glaring down at her.

She observed with astonishment as Mason placed a hand on him, noticing his eyes become vacant, as did Caelan’s. What was his concern, as he seemed to desire a pup with someone who was not his Mate; he ought to advise her to acquire one. I waited for them to conclude their private conversation, and upon its conclusion, I observed Caelan take a deep breath and say, “I don’t believe that will be necessary, Daisy.”

“It is preferable to exercise caution than to regret, Caelan.” “You do not wish to be burdened with me once more,” she observed as he stood, massaging his temples, before directing his gaze towards her.

“It is improbable that you are in oestrus, Daisy; it is highly unlikely that you will conceive my heir.”

“It is still.”

“Daisy, please,” he interrupted. “Just let it go.”

She glared at him, perplexed by his lack of coherence; why was he opposing her on this matter? He had ensured that she did not conceive during their Mating, as he did not desire an heir with her at that time, or was he merely intent on concealing his actions now?

She rose and addressed him, “I concur; we ought to simply relinquish it.” Return to our customary lives; I have progressed. “I cannot elucidate how we found ourselves engaging in s****l intercourse once more,” she remarked, shaking her head, pondering how to convey that it was her tremors on both occasions that had incited his desire for her. Indeed, it had been extraordinary, unlike anything she had previously experienced. Superior to their previous state of being Mated, indeed significantly improved. However, it was unlikely that they would repeat the action. “However, we ought to refrain from repeating it.”

Caelan stood motionless, fixated on her, his entire body tense. She pondered whether her words led him to believe she was rebuffing his advances, despite his declaration of desire and inquiry about her feelings towards him. Both expressed a desire for one another, which was perplexing, yet it could no longer transpire. Alpha, however, did not appreciate being rejected; he would be no exception.

“I will consult Dr. Maurice; the issue is resolved, Caelan.” She turned to exit the room.

“Daisy, please,” he sounded almost anguished to her ear.

She pivoted and regarded him with a frown. Mason appeared to cling to the man as if his life depended on it, stating, “I do not hold you accountable, Caelan.” I will not permit you to become bound to me once more. “We have accomplished that; it was detrimental for both of us.” She pivoted and exited the door, proceeding directly to the pack hospital.

She was not obligated to elucidate her actions to Dr. Maurice, and it was probable that he would refrain from enquiring about the man with whom she had engaged in intimacy. Regarding Caelan and his peculiar behaviour, he would ultimately express gratitude to her. Their relationship had been detrimental for both parties. She was averse to enduring another iteration of that, and if an heir were to exist, his family would demand that they be Marked and Mated once more to safeguard the child and the family lineage.

Neither he nor she would desire that.

I waited nearly 40 minutes in the pack hospital waiting room to see Maurice, as he was attending to his other patients. She sat and gazed at her upon making the request, raised an eyebrow, and merely enquired if she was certain this was her desire.

Daisy affirmed with a nod and responded in the affirmative. She recognised that it was for the best.

He presented her with a small white tablet, which she ingested immediately in his presence, accompanied by the glass of water he provided. She enquired about potential side effects, to which he responded by shaking his head to signify the absence of any.

She departed to return to her room. She would not rebind Caelan to herself, as she was not his Mate. Both individuals possessed the right to discover their Mates, attain happiness, and procreate with their destined partners.

Ultimately, he would realise that she had made the correct decision. Hudson was probably conflating his emotions regarding the issue. Amelia remained asleep. He was probably correct; she had not been in oestrus, making it highly improbable that they would have conceived a child together. It was merely a precautionary measure.
