The Alpha’s Possession – Chapter 144

Prese

He continued to laugh ten minutes later while engaging in a game of catch the prey with her, a pastime favoured by all wolves. His incessant laughter and the act of pursuing her, only to allow her to escape, provided him with amusement. However, she had not traversed in human form for an extended period and was rapidly exhausting her stamina.

He suddenly lunged at her, eliciting a scream of terror. She halted abruptly, nearly losing her balance, but ultimately remained upright and pivoted to flee, colliding directly with a formidable wall of muscle. Reclined and descended onto her posterior, panting as she gazed upward.

Caelan gazed at her with a raised eyebrow and a hint of annoyance. He then extended his hand to grasp her, prompting her to retreat. She heard Mason laugh as Caelan frowned directly at her.

“Approach, Daisy,” he asserted.

Daisy stood up, maintaining her gaze upon him. “I am in significant trouble,” she contemplated, as he observed her, one hand extended with a finger directed towards the ground before him, indicating where he desired her to position herself.

Mason abruptly shouted, “RUN,” prompting her to instinctively flee from her Alpha and his Beta without hesitation. “I am going to perish,” she contemplated; however, Amelia found it quite amusing and even lent her wolf-like speed. Daisy understood she would not escape far.

Bloody Mason had startled her, triggering an immediate flight response. “You bastard,” she transmitted through the mind-link to Mason. He merely laughed in response, clearly entertained by his jest. She could discern their approach, or perhaps it was merely Caelan, influenced by Mason’s amusement. She was fairly certain it was merely Caelan. She refrained from looking back, contemplating, ‘This is problematic; I am fleeing from the Alpha.’ Amelia appeared to hold an entirely contrary viewpoint. She delighted in being pursued.

She was swiftly brought to the ground with an arm encircling her waist; he had executed a tackle, and they tumbled over the earth. Daisy raised her arms to shield her face, and upon halting, she found herself atop him, his grip securing her against his chest. She sensed his breathing was as rapid as her own, her head resting on his shoulder as she lay there, closing her eyes to regain her breath. She contemplated, “I am going to kill Mason.”

“Indeed!” Did you believe you could evade me?Caelan’s vocalisation.

“No,” she replied candidly, “It is Mason’s fault; attribute the blame to your Beta.”

Caelan sighed, “My office,” then rose, guiding her to the ground once he was upright. “March,” he muttered, directing her to proceed towards the pack-house. She walked, emitting a sigh. Caelan trailed behind her, maintaining her pace throughout the journey, remaining utterly silent the entire time.

Mason was seated in the office, a broad smile adorning his face. She fixed him with a glare, fully aware that he had acted with intent. He was meant to bring her in, but instead, he transformed it into a frustrating game of his preference, which only exacerbated her difficulties.

“Sit,” Caelan instructed, gesturing towards the chair before his desk.

Mason was nonchalantly seated in the chair adjacent to her designated spot. She struck him forcefully in the chest, yet he did not even flinch. “Arsehole,” she conveyed through the mind-link as she took her seat.

“Observe that Alpha; she has just attacked your Beta.”

Daisy’s head turned sharply to regard him with disbelief. Was he utterly deranged? Was she not already in sufficient trouble? “You initiated it,” she shouted at him.

Mason merely smiled at her. “I did not take any action; it was you who fled,” he remarked with a shrug.

“You shouted it at me,” she retorted. “I was unable to control it.” “He understood the consequences of startling a wolf so overtly; when already agitated, they flee.” Illegitimate offspring.

“You need not have listened,” he nearly chuckled at her.

Caelan cleared his throat, stating, “When you two have concluded your argument.”

Daisy cast a final glare at Mason before turning to Caelan, still harbouring the desire to strike Mason in his arrogant face. She contemplated that she may fabricate a justification to undertake it subsequently.

“Alpha,” she acknowledged him formally, as she was present for punishment.

“Daisy,” he gazed at her intently.

She gazed directly at him, intending to maintain her pretence of ignorance regarding the previous night. “Yes, Alpha,” she conceded, though her tone betrayed an excess of innocence. She possessed no experience in this regard and had consistently followed instructions without question. To prevent irritating him.

He was scowling at her now. That was the expression she recognised, the one he consistently directed towards her, aside from instances of anger.

“I demand an apology,” he asserted bluntly.

“So do I,” she contemplated absentmindedly, yet recognised that she would never obtain one. He was not inclined to apologise for his actions. She was unequivocally certain of that. “Is the remainder of the Alpha Unit coming to offer their apologies to me?”She pivoted and surveyed the room. Alex and Cole were absent. She would express her apologies to them.

“No,” he retorted, evidently vexed by her conduct. Daisy glanced back at him. “Therefore, Alpha, kindly accept my apology on their behalf. I acknowledge that I offended them. I apologise to your unit.

He was fixating his gaze directly upon her now. “That is not my intended meaning.”

“Then, I do not comprehend Alpha,” she enquired, raising her eyebrows in curiosity.

“Apologize to me, Daisy,” he rasped.

Apologise to him! Unlikely. She glared at him, saying, “I do not comprehend; what have I done?” “To you.” She gazed directly at him, presenting an implicit challenge for him to reiterate her statement.

“You are aware of your actions,” he reiterated, his jaw now twitching.

Daisy inclined her body forward in her chair and shook her head. I do not exhibit alpha behaviour. What specifically are you referencing?”

Mason emitted a somewhat heavy sigh, which was disregarded as I remained concentrated on Caelan, who had significantly more to atone for than she did, and awaited his reply.

Your remark from last night. Furthermore, you vomited on me.

Daisy almost laughed; she did not genuinely remember vomiting on him. “Did I accomplish that?”Her gaze shifted to Mason, who nodded in affirmation.

“Affirmative.” Caelan retorted sharply at her.

“Oh!”It was entirely authentic. “I do not remember that whatsoever.”

“Apologise, Daisy.”

“What is the reason?” I did not request your assistance in retrieving me. Your bodyguards could have escorted me home.

“How could they have accomplished that when you could scarcely stand, much less walk?”He growled at her, and Daisy leaned back in her chair. “In the same manner as you, I presume,” she replied with a nonchalant shrug. Deep within her, she recognised the peril of her actions, yet an intense urge to challenge him surged forth, as if it had been dormant within her until now.

His eyes focused intently on her; he comprehended her implicit message, as none of them could approach her without inflicting genuine pain. Daisy fixed her gaze upon him, presenting a genuine challenge, and she discerned his discomfort; however, she pondered what further actions he could take against her—perhaps another Alpha Order, or house arrest? He was unlikely to incarcerate her while John remained present, and she was aware of this. While I would not object to conversing with the man, the urgency of that necessity appeared to dissipate with the severance of the blood bond.
