“You wretched girl.”
“Disclose the information or I will inform Caelan that you became flustered contemplating that kiss.”
“I did not,” she retorted. “I was unaware of its authenticity.” In truth, it was merely a dream.
“Indeed, it was genuine, Daisy.” Did you find it enjoyable?”
“None of your business,” she retorted.
He snorted, “You did.”
She fixed him with a fierce gaze. Until he began prodding her with a finger. “Please divulge the particulars regarding Ella; what did the woman articulate?””
“I am indebted to her, Beta.”
“If you owe her a favour, you should settle that debt promptly.”
“Do you expect me to approach Cole and say, ‘Hello Cole, I request that you permit MASON to engage in s****l relations with your sister’?”
“Please refrain from being so blunt.” However, if it proves effective.
“What reason would he have to accept it from me?” I am insignificant.
“Ah, you remain a Luna-ranked wolf, thus you technically maintain a higher rank than him,” she gazed at him. Accuse him and contemplate that for a moment. “Ha.” I surpass you, then.
He bellowed with laughter, “I possess royal blood, sister; there is no possibility of you ever surpassing me.”
Daisy reclined on the bed and gazed at Mason. “I possess numerous secrets regarding you; I may commence divulging them to Ella.”
“Proceed to inform her of all the positive aspects, as you are aware.” He again raised his eyebrows at her.
“The first thing I shall convey to her is…” she smirked directly at him, then prodded him in the side and penetrated her fingers, eliciting laughter through tickling. He erupted in laughter and swatted her hands aside.
“Do not attempt that; I am the Beta of the pack.” I must project an image of toughness and strength, unaffected by my ticklishness.
Daisy laughed at him, then sighed and gazed at him, her amusement dissipated by the contemplation of her impending task. “I will remain with you until you are prepared.”
She declined, stating, “I do not wish to read it.”
“It is imperative that you do so, Daisy.”
“Did you truly assign me a name?””
“I did,” he affirmed with a nod.
“How did you locate me?””
“That is an imprudent question.” How can I locate you? I believe we established a connection at the moment of your birth. May I pose a question to you, Daisy?”
“Certainly.”
“May I view your back?””
“What is the reason?””
“On the day of your 18th birthday, presumably at the moment of your birth, I acquired a mark that I believe resembles the one on your back.” I caught a glimpse of it while Maurice was suturing you.
That captured her complete attention. “Have you experienced any unusual side effects from it?”She sat upright, turned her back to him, and raised her shirt for his view.
“No, what is your reason?””
“No,” she bit her lip, “I am merely curious.” Is it identical?”
“Indeed it is,” he stated. “Observe.” He rolled up the sleeve of his shirt, revealing an identical mark on the inside of his bicep. Although it was significantly smaller.
What is your assessment of it?“She inquired.”
“I am uncertain.” Although I have consistently harboured suspicions that you possessed one as well.
“It is peculiar.” The sole information I possess is that it is referred to as Celestial Moon Phases.” He shrugged, “It holds no significance for me.”
“Neither do I,” she reclined and gazed at the ceiling. From his responses, she discerned that he was the one who had located her, confirming the veracity of the situation. John was not her progenitor; he never had been. And his companion Daisy had never been her mother. Who was she? She turned and said to him, “Contact Caelan; let us conclude this matter.”
The influence John exerts over me jeopardises your safety; I never wish to experience that again.
“Do you not wish to read it?””
“I have faith in you, Mason.”
Caelan arrived approximately five minutes later, holding the ceremonial blade of the pack. She exhaled audibly; he positioned himself on the bed beside her and grasped her hand, stating, “I will request that you sever your blood connection to him, after which I must inflict a wound upon you.” The research I conducted indicates that only his blood will emanate from the incision. Upon its occurrence, the connection will be terminated.
“Is that all?””
“Indeed, rather straightforward. Are you prepared?”
“Simply execute it,” she exhaled.
He cleared his throat, and she observed Hudson alongside him, smiling at his wolf, who winked directly at her. She recognised it was Hudson, not Caelan. Subsequently, he subtly shook his head and stated, “I, Alpha Caelan Ley, enquire of you, Daisy Clinton, do you wish to dissolve your blood bond with John Clinton?” His voice was gravelly, reflecting the duality of his human and wolf selves.
“I wish to terminate my blood relationship with John Clinton; I no longer recognise him as my father.”
Caelan inflicted a minor incision on the palm of her hand, resulting in a solitary drop of blood before it promptly closed.
“What are your feelings?”“He inquired.”
“Identical.” “Really?” She shook her head. “How am I expected to feel?””
He frowned at her, appearing disconnected.
She observed him as he removed the blood with a tissue from her bedside table, stating, “perhaps it requires some time.” She shrugged.
“It should be immediate.” “However, let us allow a few hours to pass.” He rose to his feet. “Attempt to obtain some rest.”
“Caelan?”He turned to her and asked, “If I am no longer a Clinton, what am I?”“
He appeared to contemplate it briefly. “I suppose it is a Caldwell.”
Her eyes expanded in astonishment as she observed him exit.
Caelan’s Perspective
Witnessing her sob uncontrollably was nearly devastating for him. Upon awakening, she promptly dissolved into tears. She was aware of her actions; he and Mason had both been in her room, anticipating her awakening. Following a dispute regarding the dissolution of her connection to John, he, like Mason, wished for her to be free from that scoundrel; however, he prioritised providing Daisy with answers first. Mason appeared indifferent to obtaining her consent and informed Caelan that he would proceed regardless if Caelan did not.
