The Alpha’s Possession – Chapter 125

Regal

She bared her fangs and attempted to bite him directly in the face. Her response was swift; she appeared both furious and remarkably quick. He observed that even Amelia’s green eyes were illuminated with flashes of silver.

“Enough,” Caelan bellowed at the pair, his Alpha presence enveloping them both. Lark growled internally; he disapproved as Amelia withdrew back into Daisy. It appeared to be compelled by her Alpha.

Caelan relinquished his aura as soon as everyone was composed. “What is the matter with you?”He shouted at her. “I could have, Hudson could have…” he left his sentence unfinished, yet Mason understood it would have concluded with ‘killed you.’

“I simply wish to see him; I implore you to allow me,” she beseeched him, then directed her gaze at MASON. “Please.” His heightened auditory perception detected laughter emanating from within the cells. John could perceive all occurrences, including Caelan and Hudson’s near assault on her. “Perhaps this is precisely what he intended,” he contemplated.

“Father,” she shouted.

Mason informed her, “The man is perilous.” Her gaze shifted to the cells upon hearing the man’s laughter. She was aware that it was John.

“Express yourself fully, Daisy,” he shouted in response, then laughed almost maniacally.

Those were peculiar words to utter, unless he was aware.. He was aware of her identity; that scoundrel recognised that Mason had extricated her from the tree and forcibly removed her from the cells; she could not be in proximity to him.

“Joe.” Caelan’s voice indicated that John’s remarks had not escaped the man’s attention.

“I shall return.”

“No, she can now walk back independently.” Mason turned to face him; blood was trickling from his nose, the result of her headbutt. However, nothing appeared to be broken, or he would have already adjusted it. Mason was displeased with the statement; she ought not to be wandering alone at any time.

She extricated herself from his grasp, sprinting at full wolf speed past him and Caelan towards the cells, while calling out for her father. Mason pursued her, seized her, pivoted her away from the cells, and hurled her away from them.

She came to a halt, fell to the ground, rolled over, and upon looking up, he realised the situation was about to become extremely serious. He observed sheer fury in her eyes, which blazed with a silver and green luminescence, while her breathing was rapid and shallow. She then opened her mouth and Amelia unleashed a fierce roar directed at him, embodying a full-fledged challenge, Alpha to Alpha, as it was evident at that moment that she truly was one. Although he had previously harboured suspicions, it was now unequivocally evident.

“NO,” he heard Caelan exclaim. However, it was too late; she was already approaching him. He wished to avoid causing her pain; she was his cherished Daisy. He had approximately five seconds to decide between himself and her, and he instinctively understood that he could not inflict harm upon her. He lowered his hands; even Lark refrained from advancing. Neither was inclined to cause her harm.

“Joe,” he heard Caelan call his name the moment his hands fell, instantly realising that Mason would not confront her, preferring to perish himself rather than inflict harm upon her. He loved her excessively to inflict pain upon her; he could never do so.

The figure that appeared before him emerged unexpectedly. He was unaware that she had been present; it was his own mother. Her Royal Alpha presence emanated towards Daisy as she softly commanded, “Stop,” without any trace of anger. He extended a hand to halt Daisy’s impending rush, causing her to come to a stop directly in front of his mother, where she gazed up at her intently.

No wolf could challenge the royal wolfen lineage. His mother possessed pure royal lineage, in contrast to Mason, who was of mixed royal descent.

He observed Daisy gazing at her, seemingly entranced. “That is sufficient, Daisy,” she said gently, reaching up to caress her face. “Calm yourself, my child.” Amelia withdrew.

“I…” tears welled and cascaded down her cheeks. “I…” Then she lost consciousness, her eyes rolling back, and she collapsed. His mother apprehended her, descended to her knees, and exhaled gently. “I will return her to the pack-house.”

She turned and enquired of Mason, “Are you well, my son?”Mason acquiesced. She extended her hand towards him. He accepted it, fully aware that she had probably just preserved his life, a realisation shared by Caelan, who was observing them intently. She rose and effortlessly lifted a fully grown woman, carrying her with ease.

Prioritise your well-being, son. “I will not lose you as well,” she stated, and departed. She acknowledged Caelan with a nod, “Alpha.”

“Thank you, Belinda, but I do not believe so.”

“You both would have perished,” she declared bluntly. “Fortuitously for you, I was out for a walk, wasn’t I?””

He nodded and approached Mason. “Indeed, we have an issue,” he ultimately concurred with Mason regarding Daisy. This was the first occasion he had observed her in this manner, and it was evident; she possessed Alpha blood. Aspects of her lineage were revealed to him and Caelan, the guard, likely John, certainly his mother, and any others within earshot of her challenge.

“It may be prudent to maintain proximity to your mother.”

Mason nodded, though he doubted she would desire involvement in this matter. He observed her depart while bearing the unconscious woman. She had rendered Daisy completely motionless, her regal presence more formidable than Daisy’s, regardless of her identity. He exhaled audibly. It was likely time for him to converse with the woman he suspected to be her biological mother. He had not disclosed that to anyone, including Caelan.

I genuinely did not anticipate it would proceed so favourably.
