He was present at that location.
She quickly retreated, smiled directly at him, and leaned against the door frame. I was unaware that he was not the sole occupant of the room. Caelan was positioned by the entrance of the room. His furious snarl captured her attention. Her eyes expanded in astonishment upon seeing him. She had not anticipated his arrival.
His gaze was fixed on her, or rather, on the towel. He appeared irate when his gaze finally met hers, his jaw was tense and twitching uncontrollably. He observed her cheek, where the handprint remained. Her gaze shifted to Mason, who stood with his hands on his hips, staring at the ceiling.
“Put on some appropriate clothing,” Caelan articulated through clenched teeth.
“I sleep unclothed,” she replied candidly.
She typically wore only panties.
A snarl emanated from him as he extended his hand, grasped MASON, and yanked him from the room, subsequently closing the door behind them.
She exhaled audibly and adjusted the towel around her securely. I approached and secured the lock, although it appeared unlikely to deter either of them from entering. She then collapsed onto her bed, buried her face in the pillow, and laughed. One of these days, she will undoubtedly encounter significant trouble.
Mason’s Perspective
He was extremely enraged with Daisy at that moment. She had continued to urge him to take her there to confront that individual this morning. She had now openly defied him regarding the matter. At this moment, he was proceeding towards the cells, accompanied by Caelan.
Both were displeased with the report from the cell guard indicating that she was currently attempting to persuade him to allow her access to the prisoner. It has been merely three days since the assault, and she regained her voice only this morning.
Caelan had refrained from approaching her until now. Mason was aware of John’s concerns. He had assigned Mason the responsibility of managing her. Her demeanour had progressively deteriorated over the course of two days. She was adamant about meeting the man, initially imploring and beseeching him, which he refused to consider, even in the presence of her tearful distress.
Upon her suggestion that Caelan would undertake the task, he responded with outright laughter, indicating his refusal to comply. Was she so oblivious that she could not perceive that Caelan desired to kill the man as fervently as MASON did, and he had conveyed this to her explicitly. She had not approached Caelan regarding the matter, aware that he had not been deceitful.
She had not once mentioned the kiss with Caelan, seemingly disregarding it as if it had never occurred. It was peculiar, yet who could ascertain her sentiments regarding it? Mason understood that if Daisy entered Caelan’s office and repeated her actions—kissing him gently and requesting to see that man—he would undoubtedly acquiesce to her desires. His desire to retain her in his embrace would compel him to act. Would easily influence the man. She was completely unaware of the influence she exerted over him.
Caelan’s gaze was constantly searching for her, compelling Mason to accompany her to any location she desired, driven by an insatiable curiosity about her every action. John had thoroughly unsettled him. Mason was quite astonished that Caelan had not confined her within the pack-house for her protection. Within his Alpha Suite, nonetheless. Mason believed that was primarily motivated by self-preservation rather than any other factor.
This occurred after she had reprimanded him earlier that morning for seeing John. She had referred to that man as her father once more, despite his prior admonition against it. He shouted in response to her. They had been positioned in the threshold of her bedroom. He had obstructed her exit from the room. Their noise was audible to all; it was exceedingly loud.
Daisy had not retreated or distanced herself from him. She approached him directly, disregarding his Beta Aura, while he attempted to force her to retreat, as if it were inconsequential to her. Prodded his chest with her finger and shouted for him to vacate her path, her eyes radiating intensity as they fixed upon him.
He extended his hand to halt the approaching Alpha Unit, which he could hear ascending the stairs in response to what could escalate into a full-blown confrontation on the first floor of the pack-house. Prior to his arrival, they had been in the Alpha’s office, and following her assault, Caelan began to leave the door ajar to monitor her movements.
Daisy had assessed him accurately and was resisting him assertively. Lark was alert and attentive, though appearing more inquisitive than anything else; he recognised that the girl did not exhibit anger, at least not in his experience, as she had consistently been the most serene being.
He experienced a desire within his wolf to run alongside Amelia, genuinely wishing to share time with her wolf.
This morning, they had confronted him directly, disregarding the implications of their opponent. A portion of Mason desired to withdraw from her, yet any movement on his part would signify his defeat, revealing to her and the onlookers that this singular girl possessed greater strength and authority than the pack Beta.
The immense power emanating from her, coupled with her aura directed towards him, was well-suited for him, and he suspected this was merely a fraction of her true potential, just the tip of the iceberg.
“No,” he had rasped, declining to submit to her. After she had attacked him and attempted to inflict harm, he reached his limit, charging at her with all his might, forcefully shutting the door behind him, expressing his fury and discontent through snarls. He held the position of Beta within the pack, and her demeanour was unequivocally disrespectful.
He forcefully threw her to the ground, leaving her in complete astonishment, then turned her onto her stomach, seized both her wrists, and forced them behind her back while leaning close to her ear and growling.
“Do not dare to challenge me, girl.”
