My wolf began to fear. Why is she not answering her calls? He screams. Is she upset with me for not satisfying her beyond a mere kiss? Is she rejecting us because of this?
“Can you allow me to think clearly?” I exclaim. “You incessantly echo in my mind. Why can’t you permit me to think clearly, and why are you presuming that she intends to reject us? She loves me, and I love her in return. She is my partner, my destined mate. We are meant for one another. She cannot reject me because of that. Please have some faith in our bond, even if it is minimal. I pick up the phone once more and dial her number. She does not answer my calls, and I continue to call.
“Greetings!” I encountered a girl who was beaming. “What may I provide for you, sir?”
“I require nothing,” I responded with impatience. “Where is Jessica?”
“Jessica?” she enquired. “I apologise, sir, but no one here possesses that name. Regrettably, you have entered the incorrect bar.”
Alas! I neglected to remember that she possesses a distinct name in the human sphere.
“I apologise for the oversight. Where is Bria?” I enquired after expressing my regret.
“Oh, Bria, she is currently unavailable,” she replied. “She is with the boss in his office.”
“Is your supervisor a female?” I enquired. She nodded in affirmation.
She grinned once again before responding, “No, our superior is male, contrary to your assumption.”
“What!” My wolf is displeased that our mate is in the company of another guy. I will not forgive him if he lays a hand on my wife.
“Inform me of their location,” I demanded, striking the table forcefully.
“I apologise, sir. I am unable to reveal the location of the boss’s office,” she uttered with a trembling voice. She was frightened yet loyal to her superior. I did not require her assistance; I could effortlessly spot her by her fragrance.
“Where do you believe you are going?” she shouted, attempting to restrain me, but I remained silent. I was pursuing her fragrance as she chased after me.
“Halt! You are prohibited from proceeding there.”
The aroma guided me to a location. I encountered Dani, Jessica’s acquaintance, just outside the entrance from whence the fragrance emanated. What is she doing here? Where is my mate?
“What are you doing here?” I enquired. “Where is Mate?”
“She is inside,” she responded. “She is conversing with the supervisor.”
What is happening? What type of conversation is he engaging in with her? I felt a surge of jealousy. Envy enveloped me. Without hesitation, I left the door ajar. I was astounded by the scene before me. He is attempting to impose himself upon her. He is trying to coerce her into intimacy. He seeks to rip her garments. How dare he? How dare he violate what belongs to me? I was consumed by an intense fury and jealousy.
“Who are you?” the unattractive elderly man enquired. “Leave before I confront you.” He is infringing upon my possessions and threatening me. Without hesitation, I assaulted him, propelling him across his office with my fists. I aimed to conclude the altercation when Dani approached his groaning form. She continued to strike him, seemingly intent on his demise, but my companion intervened. Why is she sparing a man who seeks to coerce her into submission?
Jessica’s Position
“What brings you here, Jimmy?” I enquired. “I believed I informed you that I would visit you after my work concluded. Therefore, why are you present at my place of employment?”
“Explain to me, why will I not be present?” Jimmy enquired. “I am exceedingly concerned for your well-being. I repeatedly attempted to contact you, yet you did not answer my calls. My wolf began to feel anxious, and I shared in that concern. Consequently, I took a cab to ascertain the situation. How dare that scoundrel gaze upon and violate what belongs to me? I ought to have eliminated him.”
“You need not concern yourself with him,” I remark. I am sufficiently capable of managing him on my own.
“Your strength is irrelevant,” he said. “It is my obligation to safeguard and nurture you. I wish for you to refrain from taking such risks again. I am displeased when I observe him making contact with you. You belong to me!” “I am your mate.”
I flush. This is the first instance of witnessing his anger. He exhibits jealousy and became agitated due to my superior. How endearing; I find it delightful. He resembles a youngster.
“I take responsibility for my mistake. I apologise, dear. Can you grant me your forgiveness, beloved?”
He gazed into my eyes before stating, “Very well, I shall pardon you this time. Do not repeat this. I am your mate, and it is my duty to safeguard you.”
“I assure you,” I whispered while embracing him. I heard someone cough behind me.
