Rejected by the Alpha – Chapter 5

Embracing

“Mother, I am fatigued. Could you please leave me alone? Allow me some solitude,” I articulated through my sobbing, although my mother declined to depart. She persistently knocked and implored me to open the door.

With a groan, I descended from my bed and opened the door.

“Mother, what is it?” I enquired, wiping away my tears.

“Jessica,” she said, embracing me tightly, “I deeply apologise, my dear. I regret everything. I regret being an inadequate mother. I was unable to shield you from harm; I feel utterly worthless at this moment.”

“Please refrain from saying that, Mother. Your support has significant meaning to me. I am profoundly grateful; you are the epitome of an ideal mother,” I expressed to her.

We ceased our embrace, and she used her thumb to wipe away my tears.

“Everything will be fine, I assure you,” she consoled me.

“Mother, I am not liked here. No one desires my friendship. Everyone detests me, including Father. What is my transgression? Is it due to my lack of a wolf?”

“Refrain from making such statements, dear. Your father holds deep affection for you,” she remarked.

“No, I do not believe so. He never loved me; you heard him at the party. He would have rejected me if he had the opportunity. Mother, I am already shattered; I wish to depart from this place. I long to escape this torment.”

“What? Do you intend to abandon me, Jessica? What have I done incorrectly? What is my transgression, dear?”

“No, mother, you did not offend me; you have never mistreated me. However, I must depart from this location. I need to exit this pack. I am experiencing depression, and remaining here will only exacerbate my condition. If I spend another moment in this dismal environment, I may become suicidal.”

My mother was rendered speechless. She parted her lips, yet no sound emerged. She is astonished.

“I apologise, Jessica. My desire is for your happiness, and if departing will facilitate that, I will assist you in reaching out to my sister. She is the Luna of the nearby pack, not far from ours. I will arrange for you to go to her. You will be fine as you commence a new life there,” Mother stated.

“Thank you, Mother. I love you,” I murmur, embracing her firmly.

“I reciprocate my affection for you, my dear.”

I was elated by the announcement. A new beginning. I am ready to embrace it.

We were still embracing when my father entered.

“Here you are, Rita.” “I have been searching for you,” he replied to his mother. “What are you doing here with this girl?”He enquired, gesturing towards me with his finger.

This girl! Am I not his offspring?

“Why do you harbour such disdain for me, father?”I summoned the courage to enquire. I could no longer suppress my curiosity; I needed to understand why he harbours such animosity against me.

“Father?”He reiterated with a derisive tone, “What are you contemplating?” How can I acknowledge a daughter who appears to be ineffectual like you? Your companion, who is expected to care for you, has dismissed you as though you are insignificant. You are merely a source of humiliation to me, Jessica. You have consistently been,

“Erik, how can you articulate that to your daughter?”“Mother enquired, pulling at his arm. “What is the matter with you?””How can you inflict such verbal harm upon her? She is my daughter, our daughter, for heaven’s sake.”

“She is your daughter, not mine. Cease referring to her as my daughter, Rita. You are aware of my intense disdain for her. I would prefer death over acknowledging her as my progeny,” he said and departed.

I proceeded to weep once more, embracing my mother. “I informed you that he despises me.”

The following day, Mother contacted her sister Liza to inform her of my circumstances, and Liza graciously invited me to reside with her.

I was organising my stuff when my mother entered my room.

“Hello, darling, have you completed packing your bags?” she enquired, sitting on the edge of my bed.

“Nearly, mother,” I responded.

“I trust you are not overlooking any details,”

Negative, mother. I am not,” I concluded as I completed packing my briefcase and secured the zipper.

Prepared? She radiated joy towards me.

Affirmative, Mother. All arrangements are finalised. I am prepared to depart from this group. “I eagerly anticipate departing and commencing a new life elsewhere,” I conveyed to her.

“Satisfactory.” Your aunt, my sister, is eagerly awaiting your arrival, so you should depart promptly. Kindly inform me upon your arrival at her pack. If you do not, I will be concerned.

“Do not be concerned, Mother.” I shall,

Following our brief talk, we both exited the room.

I observed my father seated on the couch, sipping his morning coffee. Ignoring him seemed challenging, although it was my sole recourse.
