Her Two Lives – Chapter 5

I’ll Take Care of You

“…Basketball?”

Orson glanced over the file again, his gaze lingering on the word “male” for quite a while.

“You’re going to dress up as a boy and play basketball?”

“Mm…” Her voice was light, drifting nonchalantly through the air.

“Basketball isn’t a one-person sport, right? And hasn’t the Eastwest Basketball Club already been disbanded?”

Holding her in his arms, his blue-green eyes seemed to gain a flirtatious, rosy tint as he spoke in a coaxing tone, “Man, how about I just support you? Then you won’t have to take on any more assignments.”

“…”

After waiting a long while without a response, he lowered his gaze to look at the girl in his embrace.

She had fallen asleep!

He… he had just said something so important, and she had fallen asleep right in the middle of it?

With a helpless sigh, he carried her to the bedroom, navigating with ease. Placing her gently on the bed, he pulled a thin blanket over her.

“Going to anyone else… if it’s not you… that’s not allowed.”

He murmured softly, then seemed to remember something, taking out his phone and dialing a number. “Harry, make arrangements. I need to transfer to Xinan as soon as possible.”

“Trans… transfer?”

“Yes, and cut back on my upcoming engagements.”

“…Young Boss, dare I ask what the reason is this time?”

“Hmm… I just feel like it.”

Orson Flynn glanced at the peacefully sleeping Avira Nassy, his blue-green eyes shining like gemstones against the backdrop of the night.

“My darling will definitely need me.”

The morning streets were bustling and lively.

Soft light from dawn spread gently, wrapping the entire street in a pale golden glow.

A young man walked with his bag slung lazily over one shoulder, dressed in a crisp white shirt with a loosely tied necktie.

Fragments of light seeped into his dark eyes, blending into a dreamy, hazy mist.

His pale, slender hands held a file, flipping through it with apparent seriousness.

He looked entirely pure and clean, save for one detail…

The red satin ribbon tied around his wrist, vibrant and fiery, drawing everyone’s gaze.

Passersby couldn’t help but take a second look at the young man. He was breathtakingly beautiful, like a mandrake flower exuding a faint, intoxicating fragrance.

On the way to the academy, Avira Nassy, now dressed as a boy, rubbed her sleepy eyes, trying hard to focus on the documents in her hands.

Eastwest Academy’s Basketball Club—universally known as a “trash” club…

A deserted, useless club…

That was everyone’s impression of Eastwest’s Basketball Club.

Every year in the league tournaments, Eastwest Academy barely even qualified to participate.

Meanwhile, Sandfield Academy, another top institution, was renowned for its basketball program.

But it was strange. Even though Eastwest had been terrible at basketball for years, the school had never paid much attention to it. So why the sudden interest this year?

The information Don Kay had given her was comprehensive.

It included details on Eastwest Academy’s most promising players.

Avira Nassy skimmed through the profiles. Aside from herself, there were only three other names.

One was the heir to a multinational corporation—George Backer.

Back in middle school, his team had made it to the national finals, where he had been a star player. But for some reason, he stopped playing afterward and focused solely on academics once he entered Eastwest, never mentioning basketball again.

The second was Lucas Luza.

It was hard to imagine that the boy who could bake delicious cakes was also an excellent basketball player.

She had noticed how beautiful his hands were, looking nothing like the rough hands of a basketball player.

Out of curiosity, she lifted her own hands.

They were small, covered in calluses, and a few healed scars—nothing ladylike at all.

But that didn’t matter. Her mom used to say that the most important thing for a woman was her face, and she should never lose face!

So she always made sure not to let her face get hurt, taking great pride in that.

And the most surprising name on the list belonged to the boy on the final page—Asake Bull.

The photo showed a boy of stunning beauty, so perfect it left people speechless.

The only heir of Boldon Corporation, a young Boss born to command, and the most precious son of Don Kay…

With a background that even she found hard to believe—

“Hey! Get out of the way!”

A sudden urgent scream pulled her out of her thoughts.

Avira Nassy turned her head just in time to see a silver Bentley speeding toward her. The driver clearly hadn’t anticipated someone stepping out from around the corner and was now in a panic.

With the car about to hit her, she planted one hand on the hood, vaulting effortlessly over the vehicle and landing smoothly on the other side.

Screeeech—! The harsh sound of tires braking echoed through the air.

The tires left a black skid mark on the ground, a stark reminder of how dangerous the moment had been.

Avira didn’t even turn around, acting as if nothing had happened, and continued studying the documents in her hands.

Inside the car, the driver looked at her as if he had just seen a ghost.

She had…

She had vaulted over so easily?

At such a high speed… she had just leaped like that?

The boy sitting in the backseat sensed something and lifted his gaze slightly.

When he saw what had happened, his previously calm silver eyes lit up, as if a spark had been ignited.

Even as the car drove away, his gaze remained fixed on her.

His eyes were as warm and gentle as the first rays of sunlight melting the snow, pure and serene.

Holding a pen, he scribbled three characters onto a piece of paper and handed it to the driver up front.

“Eastwest Academy.”

The architecture resembled a European castle, cloaked in morning mist that gave it a sense of nobility and purity, stretching out into a seemingly endless expanse.

The stately Roman gates stood tall, entwined with lush green vines and adorned with sculpted bas-relief panels.

At the top, the golden characters spelling “Eastwest Academy” glistened brilliantly, dazzling anyone who looked at them.

It was grand and majestic, like something out of a dream.

“Is that a transfer student? He’s so handsome!”

“I’ve never seen him before! He’s flawless from every angle!”

“Whose young Boss could he be? I want to go up and talk to him!”

The leaves of the French sycamores rustled in the breeze, the air filled with the fresh scent of greenery.

On the road paved with natural glazed tiles, small groups of students whispered and chattered about the boy who had just walked in from the gate—Avira Nassy, now disguised as a male student.

Blinking her sleepy eyes, she had just closed her folder when she rounded a corner and accidentally bumped into someone coming from the other direction, causing her papers to scatter all over the ground.
