“How could I not be upset!”
Sophia helped Ms. Emily up with a smile and said, “Mom, Grandma is right. Besides, haven’t you always wanted to see the Scott family lineage grow? I haven’t given Henry a child, and you’ve been eager to kick me out because of it! It’s true that I didn’t do well. Now, there’s someone to help you with that burden. She’s young, beautiful, and fertile! With her here, you’ll have less to worry about. Soon, Olivia will give you a grandchild, and Ms. Emily can give you a son. Imagine holding a son and a grandson at the same time! Who else has such luck as you?”
Andrea nearly had a heart attack from rage.
Every word from Sophia was like a mockery! Sophia was throwing back every comment Andrea had ever made about her!
And with extra intensity!
At that moment, Scott Richard, having heard the commotion, hurried in. “Ms. Emily, are you alright?”
When Ms. Emily saw him, she burst into tears, hiding behind him as she said in a shaky voice, “Richard, I’m so scared! She hit me!”
“Andrea! How could you hit someone like that?”
“Scott Richard!” Andrea shouted angrily, “Do you have no shame? You’ve been seeing this young woman! How old is she? Is she even older than your son? And she’s your assistant—do you even have any decency?”
Scott Richard realized his actions had been exposed and averted his gaze momentarily, but he quickly scoffed, “It’s not what you think!” He escorted Ms. Emily out, saying, “You go on ahead, I’ll return to the office later.”
Andrea tried to chase after them, but Scott Richard blocked her path.
“Enough!” he snapped, casting her a scornful glance. “Just look at how you treat your daughter-in-law! It’s just a woman—what’s the big deal? Look at yourself!”
With that, he walked out without looking back.
Andrea was so furious that she stomped her foot, her eyes filling with tears. She glanced at Sophia, who merely gave her a mocking thumbs-up. This only added to Andrea’s anger. Then she looked over at the old lady, who was, after all, her mother-in-law. The relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law was never easy, and it was clear their dynamic was much like that between her and Sophia.
With no one on her side, Andrea angrily called Scott Henry and Olivia.

As soon as she stepped out of the house, Sophia’s gaze turned cold.
So, Andrea finally got what she deserved? They say karma catches up fast!
It’s true; people shouldn’t be too heartless. Who knows what the future holds?
Sophia then went to the mall, bought a few beautiful boxes, and placed the gift she had prepared for Nancy inside.
Today was Nancy’s birthday. Although she had said it would be a small gathering, Sophia couldn’t be sure what “small” meant in this case.
She dressed up a bit and, when the time came, headed to Nancy’s place with her gift in hand.
It was only through Chloe that Sophia learned Nancy’s family was one of the four major families in the area, with the Scott family at the top. For the Smith family to be considered a peer to the Scott family, it was clear they held significant power. Nancy was a good person, young but straightforward, and without any malice, which made it easy for Sophia to get along with her.
When Sophia arrived, Nancy came out to greet her, embracing her with a smile. “Sophia, you made it!”
Today, Nancy had dressed up in a tight black dress with a punk flair, paired with high black heels that accentuated her figure. Her chic short hair added a touch of rebellious charm.
Judging by her outfit, it really did seem like a small gathering, likely just friends getting together privately.
Sophia smiled as she entered and handed Nancy her gift. Nancy looked at it curiously. “What’s this?”
“My special beauty cream!”
“Beauty cream?” Nancy’s eyes lit up as she took it out. The box was pink with gold accents, crafted in a unique, royal style that looked luxurious. Inside was a white, creamy balm with a faint herbal fragrance.
Nancy was thrilled. She knew about Sophia’s skills. Not only had Sophia effectively treated her sinus issues in just a few sessions, but Chloe’s beauty salon’s herbal baths had also become a big hit. During their anniversary promotion, they reportedly made tens of thousands in sales, with customers raving about the results!
Before Nancy could say anything, a young woman sneered, “Homemade? So it’s an unlicensed product? Who would dare to use that? And do you really think it’s better than luxury brands?”
Her words caused the other women to frown. This woman wasn’t part of their circle but had been invited out of courtesy. Most of them didn’t appreciate her attitude. A gift, whether good or bad, was a gesture of thoughtfulness. Even if Sophia’s skincare product wasn’t as good as branded ones, there was no need to embarrass her in front of everyone.
Sophia smiled calmly. An unlicensed product? That was true, after all. Many traditional medicine products would technically fall into that category.
But doubting the quality of her creation? That was something Sophia wouldn’t tolerate!
She looked at the woman and said with a smile, “You can question my character, but questioning my medical skills is a different story! I haven’t used that brand you mentioned because I’ve only ever used my own homemade skincare products.”
This caused a stir in the room. No skincare products? A woman who didn’t use skincare products?
And Sophia’s skin was flawless—smooth, poreless, without any blemishes or acne, like porcelain!
Her makeup was minimal, if she was wearing any at all, yet her skin looked exceptionally radiant.
If her claims were true, then her products were genuinely impressive!
Nancy wasn’t pleased either. She put her hands on her hips and said, ” Angela, stop trying to make trouble!”
The woman blushed and retorted angrily, “Who are you calling Angela? I changed my name! I’m Angel now!”
Nancy scoffed, “Why change it? What’s wrong with ‘Angela’? I think it sounds nice! Hey, Angela!”
Angela’s hands shook with anger, but since they were at Nancy’s place, she didn’t dare say anything more.
Sophia smiled, scooping a bit of the beauty cream and taking Nancy’s hand. She explained, “You only need a small amount of the cream. Just apply it like this, wherever you need it.
