Dr. Sophia – Chapter 355

Impossible

“Who is your boss?”

“Livinus!”

“…” Bryce gasped. Is he in such a good mood that he’s handing out rewards?

After a long day, Sophia also saw the news. She found it a bit strange. She had already braced herself for the harsh words of netizens. She was mentally prepared for people to attack both her and Livinus. She thought to herself—It’s just some online hate; it’s not like I’ll lose a limb. Who cares?

And sure enough, the hate comments did come. Many people called them shameless, saying that divorced women shouldn’t look for another man, and all sorts of baseless insults—it was obvious these were paid trolls.

But what she didn’t expect was that the supporters far outnumbered the haters.

Did she miss something? Why isn’t this turning out as expected?

It wasn’t until she saw @Purely an Onlooker’s post that she finally understood.

This must be that Bryce, right?

She hadn’t expected him to be so meticulous. He had observed her from many different angles. She had never realized that her small clinic had so many stories to tell. His writing seemed to have a magical touch.

That evening, Livinus returned home.

“Did you see the gossip?” Sophia asked.

“Mm.” He replied while taking off his suit, preparing to take a shower.

Just as the water was running, Sophia poked her head inside.

“So, President Scott, when exactly did you ever chase after me?”

Livinus didn’t even lift his head. “Was I not obvious enough?”

“You were a bit too subtle.”

“Then I’ll be more direct!”

With that, he grabbed Sophia and pulled her into the water. As her clothes became soaked, she couldn’t help but laugh and ended up bathing with him.

Holding her in his arms, Livinus smirked. “Direct enough?”

“A little too direct!”

Sophia rolled her eyes and took off her wet clothes. Even after getting pregnant, her belly hadn’t grown much, nor had her hips. Her limbs were still slender, and her figure hadn’t changed at all—except for her bust, which kept growing.

Livinus’s gaze darkened with desire.

“Are all pregnant women as beautiful as you?”

For a man known for his silence, this was rare romantic talk.

Sophia smiled and leaned into his embrace. “A woman’s beauty has a lot to do with the man by her side.”

“If that’s the case, then I should take some action to make you even more beautiful.”

Sophia chuckled, wrapping her arms around him. Through the misty water droplets, they gazed into each other’s eyes.

At this moment, everything felt just right.

Netizens’ opinions had no influence on Sophia. She lived her life as usual, unchanged.

However, Andrea was having a hard time lately. She was in the hospital, staring at the doctor in disbelief.

“What did you say? My cancer has relapsed? How is that possible? Doctor, please check again! You must have made a mistake!”

The doctor sighed. “The survival rate for b****t cancer is not low, and your previous surgery was very successful. Since you’re from a wealthy family, you had the best experts for your treatment. By all logic, you shouldn’t have relapsed this soon. But now, after just a few rounds of chemotherapy, it’s back?”

“Have you been frequently stressed? Do you tend to overthink?” The doctor had long noticed her irritable personality.

“I…” She couldn’t deny it.

Andrea felt bitter inside. She had already suffered so much from cancer treatment, and now it had relapsed? But what hit her even harder was the realization that she had no one to talk to. Neither her husband nor her children truly cared for her. How could she not be angry?

“That explains it. Others may provoke you, but your life is your own. Constant stress, negative emotions, and sleepless nights make a person prone to all kinds of illnesses. At this point, you need to come to terms with reality so we can plan your treatment properly.” The doctor tried to console her.

Andrea covered her face and wept. She called Richard.

The phone rang twice before he picked up, sounding impatient.

“What is it? I’m busy!”

Andrea felt a sting in her heart. She knew exactly where he was—with His new assistant. She was the one who had planted His new assistant there in the first place, and His new assistant reported everything to her. But now, Richard was so busy with His new assistant that he didn’t even have time to talk to her?

“Richard, can you spare me some time? I just want to talk.”

Richard scoffed coldly. “Whatever it is, we’ll talk when I get home.”

The beep-beep of the disconnected call sent a fresh wave of tears streaming down Andrea’s face.

After such a short time post-surgery, her cancer had relapsed, and Andrea was in a terrible mood.

Henry heard about it and rushed back to comfort her. “Mom, I’ll find the best doctors for you again. If necessary, we can do another surgery, and if that doesn’t work, we can go abroad for treatment.”

“You think I don’t want to go abroad for treatment?”

She had considered it before. For her, money was not an issue. But right now was a critical time—Richard had a mistress outside who had even given birth to a child. His heart was no longer in this family. Expecting a man like him to take responsibility and think about his children was impossible.

Henry’s marriage hadn’t been settled yet, Olivia hadn’t been dealt with, and the Brown family was still pressuring them. If she went abroad for treatment now, how could she rest easy?
