Dr. Sophia – Chapter 313

Melting

That’s why people often said grandparents loved their grandchildren more than their own children.

“Mom, the way you’re talking is making me nervous,” Olivia muttered.

Her head was spinning.

She hadn’t even dealt with her own problems, and now Richard had produced another child.

She was filled with regret—if she had known this would happen, she never would have rushed to marry into the Scott family.

Now, look at her!

She had given up her career for Henry, thinking she had secured her position, only to discover that Henry was fooling around with other women.

And now, her father-in-law had gotten his mistress pregnant.

How could she not be furious?

She frowned, deep in thought.

She had to find a solution.

That night, Olivia texted Clay Lyla.

Lately, Miss Emily was in confinement, meaning Richard couldn’t touch her.

That meant he would be restless and vulnerable.

Clay Lyla’s mission? To seduce him.

She didn’t need to be obvious about it—just subtly plant ideas in his head.

She started posting suggestive articles on Instagram Moments, such as:

– “The Older a Man, the More Affectionate He Becomes”

– “The Benefits of Dating Men in Their 50s and 60s”

– “45 Things Only an Experienced Man Can Teach You”

– “Mature Men: A Gift from Time”

Normally, Richard didn’t pay attention to Instagram.

But lately, he had been visiting the hospital more often to see his newborn son.

After work, he often felt bored and reluctant to go home, so he started spending time at Miss Emily’s residence.

One evening, while scrolling through Instagram, he stumbled upon Clay Lyla’s posts.

Curious, he clicked on one.

The article was surprisingly convincing, claiming that older men were the best partners—wealthy, experienced, able to show a woman the finer things in life, and never boring.

The seed had been planted.

Richard wholeheartedly agreed with the articles he was reading.

People kept saying he was old, but he felt young. Being with Miss Emily didn’t make him feel the least bit outdated.

He liked and saved the posts.

A few days later, Clay Lyla posted a selfie.

In the photo, she wore a red dress that accentuated her curves, her chest prominently displayed. The contrast of her fair skin against the deep red fabric was striking.

Richard swallowed hard.

He had never realized Clay Lyla had such an impressive figure.

From that moment on, he started paying closer attention to her.

He noticed that Clay Lyla was a woman who craved love and lacked security.

She frequently posted about spending weekends alone, longing for companionship, and enjoying solitude out of necessity rather than choice.

Richard couldn’t resist.

The next day, he invited Clay Lyla to dinner.

After a few drinks, Clay Lyla sighed, complaining about how hard it was to survive on her own.

Richard, being the soft-hearted man he was, fell for it completely.

One thing led to another, and he ended up at Clay Lyla’s place.

It happened naturally.

The next day, Andrea heard about it but showed no reaction.

Now that Miss Emily’s position in the family was more secure, it didn’t matter that she had given birth to a son.

If Richard no longer paid attention to her, then Miss Emily would cease to be a threat.

Thus, weakening Miss Emily’s influence over Richard was the priority.

Everything else?

What’s one affair versus two?

Andrea could tolerate it.

Richard became addicted to Clay Lyla.

She was completely different from Miss Emily.

Miss Emily was gentle and comforting, like a simple, warm soup.

But Clay Lyla?

She was a fiery rose, full of passion and uninhibited desire.

At his age, he was already experiencing a decline in stamina, but Clay Lyla made him feel young again.

And, best of all?

She played dumb.

She insisted she didn’t need him to take responsibility—she was just lonely and wanted a man to care for her.

Richard despised complicated relationships.

Hearing this, he was overjoyed.

He only felt a slight pang of guilt when he went to see Miss Emily.  —

Visiting the hospital, he held his newborn son.

The baby had been born at 6.8 pounds, but after a few days, he had gained weight.

“The maternity center takes good care of you both. You and the baby look great,” he commented. “Why don’t you stay for another month?”

“Another month?” Miss Emily’s gaze sharpened.

“Yes.” Richard smiled. “I heard that women who give birth to boys should do a two-month recovery, not just one.

Besides, when you return home, I won’t have time to take care of you. Even hiring a nanny wouldn’t give me peace of mind. So, why not stay another month? Once you’ve fully recovered, I’ll bring you both home.”

Miss Emily kept her head down, nursing the baby, saying nothing.

The scent of motherhood clung to her, but it was far from seductive.

“Alright,” she finally replied with a smile. “Uncle, whatever you say.”

Richard felt a wave of guilt.

She was so obedient, so understanding.

And their baby?

He smiled up at him, melting his heart.
