Sophia sighed inwardly. Even during a meal, there had to be drama. Thankfully, her mindset was strong; otherwise, she would have long suffered from indigestion.
She decided to skip the chicken. Surely, she could eat something else, couldn’t she?
Unexpectedly, Scott Livinus suddenly said, “There’s too much food; let’s switch the dishes around.”
As he spoke, he moved the dishes in front of him to the opposite side and, without drawing attention, placed the plate of chicken in front of Sophia.
Sophia was momentarily stunned, unsure if this was intentional or just a coincidence. She lowered her head and continued eating.
No one else seemed to notice this subtle act, except Scott Henry, whose eyes were practically blazing with anger.

Scott Livinus entered without turning on the lights and closed the door behind him.
In the dark, he approached Sophia and looked down at her. “What are you doing in my room?”
“Returning your book!” Sophia pointed to the shelf without hesitation, worried he might misunderstand. “I was planning to leave right after, but I didn’t expect you to come back suddenly.”
Sophia began to feel she shouldn’t have entered uninvited. If there were a misunderstanding, it wouldn’t look good.
But she truly hadn’t thought much about it earlier—her only intention was to return the book.
She reached to turn on the lights, but her hand was stopped by Scott Livinus.
In the darkness, Sophia felt an unprecedented sense of oppression. Trying to ease the tension, she asked, “Is this drone yours?”
Scott Livinus didn’t deny it.
Thinking about how the drone had helped her uncover Scott Henry’s infidelity, Sophia felt conflicted.
She hadn’t expected him to help her behind the scenes. He was, after all, Scott Henry’s brother, so why help an outsider like her?
She voiced her question aloud.
Scott Livinus was silent for a moment before replying in a low voice, “Figure it out yourself.”
What kind of challenge was that? How was she supposed to figure it out?
“Why exactly are you helping me?” she pressed.
Scott Livinus’s dark eyes narrowed as he gazed at her. “What other reason could a man have for helping a woman?”
His words were nearly explicit, and Sophia was taken aback for a long moment.
As the two stared at each other, a sudden sound interrupted them—a woman’s moan.
The unexpected noise startled Sophia, and it took her a moment to realize it was coming from Scott Livinus’s phone.
The moaning continued, and in the dark, the suggestive sound made Sophia feel incredibly awkward.
Scott Livinus’s face turned dark.
Earlier, he had stopped by Tony’s place and had been dragged into a chat. During that time, Tony had been messing with his phone in a sneaky manner, refusing to let him see what he was doing. Now it was clear—Tony had changed his ringtone to this.
“It’s not…” Scott Livinus began to explain.
Sophia shrugged with a light laugh. “What a unique ringtone! Mr. Scott’s taste is truly… one of a kind!”
She turned and walked out, adding, “Really, very unique!”
Behind her, Scott Livinus’s expression grew even darker.
As autumn settled in, the weather grew colder by the day. Around six in the morning, Sophia rose with the first rays of sunlight, washed up quickly, and went for a jog in the garden.
Running in autumn was noticeably more comfortable than in summer, but she still needed to stay mindful of her health to avoid catching a chill.
Just as she began jogging, she heard a buzzing noise. A white drone appeared and began following her.
Sophia rolled her eyes at the drone and turned a corner, only to find it following her again. No matter how she tried to shake it, the drone was determined to stay with her. Frustrated, she decided to ignore it, but the drone’s persistent presence was hard to overlook—just like its owner.
Sophia jogged for forty minutes, and the drone stayed with her the entire time.
Previously unaware of its presence, she couldn’t help but wonder now.
Why did Scott Livinus have the drone following her? And why was he helping her so much?
Sweaty and tired, she returned to the house, only to see Scott Livinus standing on the second-floor balcony with a black controller in his hand.
He lifted the controller slightly, raised an eyebrow, and smirked at her.
Sophia felt her teeth grind. She was sure he was teasing her on purpose.
Keeping a straight face, she went inside to take a shower. Just as she was about to undress, the drone flew into the yard and began hovering outside the bathroom, its camera trained on her. Since many of the bathroom doors were made of glass, the drone could easily capture everything inside. And from what she could tell, the controller in Scott Livinus’s hand had a live video feed.
Sophia frowned and, without hesitation, grabbed her toothbrush and threw it at the drone. The brush hit the propellers with a loud thwack, sending the drone crashing to the ground, where it finally stopped moving.
Finally, some peace.
After her shower, Sophia walked past the pitiful drone lying on the ground as if asking what it had done wrong. Shaking her head, she stepped over its “corpse” without a second thought.
Under the Scott family’s public relations efforts, the scandal involving Scott Henry and Ms. Emily was removed from trending topics. Many fans even created touching stories under the guise of “love,” trying to sway public opinion. However, the internet wasn’t so easily fooled. Forums were still buzzing with criticism of the Scott family’s eccentricities.
Rumors surfaced about the eldest Scott son dating someone younger than his own child, the second son fathering numerous children with multiple women, and the third son—still unmarried in his forties—threatening to turn to surrogacy out of frustration.
