After kicking Nathan, Scott Livinus still seemed unsatisfied. His face full of impatience, he removed his suit jacket, unbuttoned his collar, and violently yanked off his tie.
The man who had left earlier returned after hearing the commotion. Scott Livinus shook his hand, clenched his fist, and delivered a powerful punch. The hit landed squarely on the man’s face, causing him to clutch his nose and scream in pain.
But Scott Livinus wasn’t done yet. With a swift move, he twisted both men’s arms until they broke. The two of them clutched their arms, writhing on the floor in pain.
“Hey!” Scott Livinus pulled out his phone and said, “Get to the fourth floor. I need help dealing with something.”
Shortly after, Felix and Joanna arrived, looking surprised to see Sophia there.
It wasn’t hard to deduce what had happened from the scene. Felix and Joanna exchanged a glance, and both saw the astonishment in each other’s eyes.
Scott Livinus, who regularly worked out and was in excellent shape, had no trouble taking down two men. However, given his status and position, it was unprecedented for him to act so impulsively. They had followed him for years and had never seen him lose control like this.
It was as though he had resorted to the primal male instinct of using physical strength to protect a female he cared about.
This behavior was unheard of.
Remarkable, even.
Still fuming, Scott Livinus spoke in an icy tone:
“Investigate these two. If they’re employed, have them fired. If they’re students, report them to their schools and have them expelled!”
Hearing this, Nathan’s face was full of panic.
“This has nothing to do with me! Someone offered me $10,000 to take compromising photos of Sophia—”
“Oh?” Scott Livinus’s lips curled into a cold smile. “If you enjoy taking such photos so much, I’ll make sure you have the opportunity.”
With a glance, he signaled to Felix.
Felix immediately understood and dragged the two men into a nearby room.
“Strip them!” Felix barked. “Come on, strike a pose! You two are the stars of this show. Think *romance*! Get closer, or I’ll take care of your other arm too!”
After everything was set, Scott Livinus gave Sophia a cold look. “Come with me.”
They left the bar, and the cool breeze outside helped clear Sophia’s head.
The two of them got into Scott Livinus’s sleek black sports car.
Sophia didn’t enjoy riding in his car. His oppressive aura filled the space, making it difficult for her to breathe. Sitting next to him felt suffocating.
Scott Livinus’s face remained cold. He gripped the steering wheel with one hand while resting the other on the window. The entire ride was silent.
The car wasn’t heading toward the Scott family residence, so Sophia couldn’t help but ask, “Where are we going?”
Scott Livinus didn’t respond.
Sophia tried again. “Thank you for what you did today.”
He finally spoke. “Thank me for what?”
Sophia thought for a moment and answered honestly, “Thank you for rescuing me, and for the lunch you sent the other day.”
“Oh? Did you enjoy the lunch?”
Sophia hesitated, confused by the question, but nodded truthfully.
“It tasted great—not too salty or bland. It was just right for me. Which restaurant made it? I’d like to place an order myself sometime.”
Something about her response seemed to please Scott Livinus. His expression softened slightly.
“That chef is quite exclusive. He cooks based on his mood, so you won’t be able to book him.”
“Really? That’s a shame.”
Scott Livinus’s face relaxed further. He tapped his fingers lightly on the steering wheel, then smirked. “Do you really want to thank me?”
“Yes.”
Ten minutes later, Sophia was stunned to find that Scott Livinus had brought her to a five-star hotel.
The elevator stopped at the top floor. Scott Livinus swiped a key card, raised an eyebrow, and said, “Why aren’t you coming in? Didn’t you say you wanted to thank me?”
Sophia was taken aback. Was Scott Livinus implying something? No matter how much she wanted to express her gratitude, she would never consider offering her body.
“You brought me here to…?” she trailed off.
“Only now figuring it out? Isn’t that a bit late?”
Sophia gave an awkward laugh. “Well, I just remembered I have something urgent to attend to. I’ll head out first!”
As she turned to leave, Scott Livinus grabbed her by the collar and pulled her back.
He pushed the door open, revealing the scene inside.
Seven or eight people sat around a table, engaged in an intense activity—
They were playing Card.
The sound of tiles clattering filled the room as they shuffled the pieces. Beside her, Scott Livinus’s cold, teasing voice carried a hint of amusement:
“What exactly were you imagining? Or should I ask—were you hoping for something else?”
“…”
