This was turning into a situation where he would have to serve a drunken woman instead of spending their first night together.
Was this how it felt to be hit by one’s own axe?
Dumbfounded, Dylan could only let out a small laugh.
However, whether she knew Dylan’s feelings or not, Lola murmured softly.
“Dear”
“Hmm…”
As Lola fiddled with her face with her small hands, Dylan had to bite his teeth to suppress the overwhelming feeling.
“Dear, as Aliza said, I don’t have money, background, or anything to give you. But instead, I’ll love you a lot. If you’re having a hard time, I’ll encourage you by saying you’re doing well, and if you’re sad, I’ll comfort you and always be by your side to support you. So I won’t be a burden to you.”
Her heartwarming words made Dylan stop patting her back and chest for a moment.
While Dylan was momentarily dazed, something soft quickly touched his lips and then pulled away.
“That’s so nice.”
Only then did Lola, seemingly satisfied, mumble softly and close her eyes with a smile. Dylan, who regained his senses a little late, reached out to caress her face and sighed.
“Lola, you can’t fall asleep yet. You need to listen to what I say before sleeping.”
Snooze.
Instead of a reply, he heard her breathing.
“You said you would love me without heartache. I’ll make sure you can have that kind of love. I’ve never openly loved anyone before, but I’ll make sure your heart doesn’t ache and that you can smile a lot when you’re with me.”
Snooze.
Again, there was no response, only the sound of her regular breathing.
“Lola, did you understand what I said?”
“Uh-huh.”
Lola made a sound similar to sleep talking as she nestled into Dylan’s arms.
After putting her through such a harsh ordeal, she was sleeping peacefully with a serene expression.
*****
Dawn was breaking. It was probably around 5 AM now.
Lola was still sleeping with her head resting on his arm. Dylan hadn’t slept a wink.
Originally, he had planned to get up in the middle of the night for a cold shower, but since Lola wouldn’t let go of him, he couldn’t get up. Then, when she said she was hot, he took off his robe, and when she said she was thirsty, he got her water, serving her like a waiter. Before he knew it, he had almost stayed up all night with his eyes wide open.
Dylan pulled the blanket up to her shoulders.
When she woke up, the shy Lola would probably be quite surprised.
She would look at herself in just her underwear and ponder what had happened the night before.
But do you know?
Even with you practically naked in front of me, not being able to hold you was an excruciating torment and severe t*****e for me.
Yeah, just sleep a little longer.
Because in the morning, you’ll have to face an embarrassing moment.
“Did you sleep well?”
The bodies touching were hot.
As she tried to lift her eyelids and pull away from him, Lola found herself trapped in his embrace, unable to move an inch.
Dylan asked again.
“Does your head hurt? Are you feeling okay?”
She felt refreshed and her mind was clear from a good night’s sleep.
Her stomach wasn’t queasy, yet for some reason, Lola couldn’t shake off the feeling that something was off.
It didn’t take long for her to realize she was wearing nothing on top.
“Oh, dear….”
As she slowly opened and closed her eyes, her gaze fell down to her nearly naked form, and her expression turned to one of horror.
“Wh-what happened to me…? Why am I…?”
Startled and flustered, she barely managed to swallow the scream that was about to burst out, stammering her questions, but in the end, Lola couldn’t finish her sentence.
“Ah, why are you in this state?”
Even though Lola was rambling and trailing off, Dylan seemed to understand perfectly.
As he scanned her with an unabashed gaze, Lola pulled the blanket up to her face and nodded.
“You kept saying how hot it was yesterday, so I took it off.”
At Dylan’s nonchalant reply, Lola couldn’t quickly determine whether it was true or not.
She could only feel too embarrassed to lift her gaze.
“Do you not remember anything?”
“……!”
“I’ve never seen a woman so drunk in my life. It was quite something yesterday.”
After saying that, Dylan got up from the bed to take a cold shower.
Even with a woman he wanted to touch and hold right in front of him, it had been a night when he couldn’t even brush against her.
In the midst of it all, he had been unable to move a muscle because the woman, unaware of anything, had burrowed into his arms, sleeping deeply.
