Arrogant Husband and Timid Wife – Chapter 50

Yes

The following week, both of them were busy. Dylan had been working intense overnight shifts without even showing his face. Meanwhile, Lola was busy preparing for her specialist exam.

During the time they couldn’t meet, they exchanged occasional messages to check on each other.

Today, finally having some free time, Dylan went straight to the hospital as soon as he finished work. He took Lola to the most expensive restaurant.

After being seated by the window with a beautiful night view, Dylan glanced at Lola’s face as he ordered food and asked.

“Are you doing well with your exam preparations these days?”

Seeing his face after a week made Lola very happy. Feeling a bit giddy, she answered a beat late.

“Yes.”

“Thank goodness! I was worried that you might be too distracted by dating me, and it would affect your exam.”

“Oh, no. Dear, it doesn’t interfere with my exam. I’m preparing hard.”

Lola explained earnestly, even using hand gestures. Dylan’s lips curled up slightly.

“There’s no need to emphasize that much.”

Feeling a bit embarrassed by his teasing tone, Lola blushed and mumbled.

“Right.”

To cool her flushed face, Lola took a sip of water from the glass on the table. After a brief pause, she cautiously asked.

“Dear, have you been very busy lately?”

“Yeah! I’ve been quite busy. Why? Did you miss me?”

At his direct question, Lola’s cheeks flushed again. After taking another sip of water, she answered honestly.

“Yes. I missed you, Dear.”

One of Dylan’s eyebrows raised. Despite feeling strange, he didn’t show it on the outside.

“Dear, I…”

Gathering her courage, Lola looked up and stammered, but suddenly a surprised expression crossed her face.

“Hmm? It’s Gia.”

Seeing someone so familiar, Lola’s face brightened instantly as she waved and stood up.

“Gia.”

Hearing her call, Gia, who had noticed Lola a bit late, approached with a smile. She had come here to dine with Hamza, but she was pleasantly surprised to run into Lola.

“Lola.”

“Gia.”

The two were so happy to see each other, even by chance, that they hugged tightly.

Dylan was taken aback.

This woman is happier to see Gia than to see me.

Even after seeing each other to the point of getting tired of it at the hospital, he couldn’t understand why they always made such a fuss when they met.

Seeing Lola’s expression change completely when she saw Gia made Dylan feel a bit disappointed.

“You look so different in that outfit that I almost didn’t recognize you. You look so pretty.”

Gia admired Lola, who was wearing a stylish and refreshing dress and sandals that made her ankles look slender. Lola touched her slightly flushed face.

“But how did we all end up meeting here?”

“That’s why they say the world is small.”

While chatting and laughing with Gia, Lola casually turned her gaze and saw Hamza standing there with an unreadable expression, making her feel embarrassed as she belatedly greeted him.

“Hello. It’s been a while.”

“Teacher Lola, it’s been a while.”

“Have you been well?”

“Of course.”

The moment Dylan heard Hamza’s voice, his face involuntarily frowned.

“Did you come with Big Brother?”

Lola nodded at Gia’s whispering question.

“Yes, Dear.”

“Ah!”

Gia, who had just stepped forward, waved and greeted Dylan prettily, but Dylan’s reaction was indifferent. Dylan’s lack of enthusiasm made Gia pout her lips in annoyance.

“Big Brother, is it okay if we join you?”

Lola asked quietly, glancing at Dylan. Honestly, Dylan didn’t want to, but he couldn’t refuse outright, either. He nodded once and moved to sit next to Lola, calling the waiter. He then handed the menu to Hamza and Gia, who sat down next to him.

“Brother, it’s been a while.”

“Brother-in-law, it’s been a while too. Have you been well?”

“Nothing much. I’m just happy every day. How have you been? Are you dating anyone?”

With the blunt question, Dylan frowned.

This is why I don’t want to sit with you guys.

Hamza casually threw out words that could make someone uncomfortable.

“Teacher Lola Dax seems to be dating someone, right? You look even prettier than before.”

“Th-thank you.”

Lola blushed shyly. Gia playfully hit Hamza’s arm.

“Why are you making Lola uncomfortable?”

“Why? I just said it honestly.”

Feeling wronged, Hamza turned to Lola and asked directly.

“Teacher Lola, did my words make you uncomfortable?”

“Oh, no.”

“Seeing you sitting next to Big Brother, it looks good. By the way, Big Brother, you seem to have a better complexion now.”

“Brother-in-law, enough already, just order the food quickly.”

Dylan, lowering his voice, cautioned Hamza. Hamza chuckled and flipped through the menu, scanning it before placing the order.

That was fine.

Even when Hamza occasionally made overt expressions, it wasn’t to the point where Dylan couldn’t stand it.
