After having dinner at a sushi restaurant with Lola, Dylan took her to a department store.
Was he acting mysteriously as if it were some grand secret, just to go shopping?
Lola felt a strange sensation, wondering if there was an unexpected side to this seemingly cold man.
But he didn’t seem like someone who enjoyed shopping.
Holding Dylan’s hand and walking, Lola tilted her head in confusion.
However, after a while, when Dylan’s steps stopped in front of a luxury brand store, Lola had a bad feeling.
This time, it was a shoe store. It was a high-end brand store with a luxurious logo that any woman would likely adore. The flip-flops adorned with cubic zirconia were among the cheapest, yet even those had an outrageous price.
“Dear, let’s hurry and go.”
Lola exclaimed in shock, trying to pull Dylan away from the place, but he didn’t budge.
“I told you before that we should buy comfortable shoes.”
Dylan said, looking down at the flats Lola was wearing.
“I see you wearing the same shoes every time. The designs here are pretty, and they’re comfortable to wear.”
“Oh, Dear! I really… have a lot of shoes. I just wore these because I was too lazy to change.”
Lola explained, even gesturing vigorously.
“Then just wear the shoes I buy for you.”
“Oh, Dear. But this isn’t right.”
His firm arm wrapped around her waist, pulling her into his embrace.
“Lola.”
His softly exhaled breath tickled her earlobe. Lola tried to tilt her head back, but Dylan held the back of her head and pulled her closer.
“I told you to wear pretty shoes and walk only on flower paths.”
“Dear, I still can’t accept this.”
After another refusal, Dylan gently held her chin and whispered softly in her ear.
“Lola, if you don’t listen to me, I might just kiss you right here.”
It had been a month since they started dating. She didn’t expect anything from him. Dylan liked Lola’s unpretentious purity. He found her so beautiful that he wanted to do something for her repeatedly. But the good girl wouldn’t accept gifts easily. He didn’t know how to persuade her in such situations. Perhaps such threatening words would fluster her, but he thought it might be the most effective method.
As expected, Lola only bit her lip, unable to utter a word of refusal.
“Let’s go inside.”
Dylan extended his hand. Lola sighed in resignation and reluctantly took his hand. As they walked side by side into the store, the corners of Dylan’s mouth subtly lifted.
Once inside, Dylan picked out several pairs of sneakers and sandals and handed them to Lola to try on. As she took the shoes from him and moved to the bench sofa, she first checked the price tags.
As she had expected, all the shoes he picked out were beyond her imagination in terms of price. No, it wasn’t like the shoes were made of gold; she couldn’t understand why they were so expensive.
Feeling overwhelmed by the prices, she hesitated to try them on and sat blankly on the bench sofa, but Dylan came over and sat beside her, urging her.
“How long are you going to sit there? Aren’t you going to try them on?”
“Oh, Dear.”
“Lola, what did I say would happen if you refused me?”
Dylan quietly warned her, leaning close to her ear. Unable to meet his gaze, Lola lowered her head and replied.
“I’ll listen to you, Dear.”
“Good.”
But due to her nervousness, Lola fumbled and couldn’t put the shoes on properly, prompting Dylan to kneel in front of her.
“Oh, Dear, I can do it myself.”
Lola panicked and tried to snatch the shoes from his hands. But Dylan calmly slipped the shoes onto her feet without acknowledging her attempt. His touch on her feet felt warm. Lola trembled as an electric sensation coursed through her body.
“Try on the others too.”
“Yes. I’ll do it.”
Dylan glanced at Lola once before returning to sit beside her.
In the end, that day, Lola had to try on all six pairs of shoes that Dylan had picked out. She had said that one pair of sneakers would be enough, but Dylan insisted on buying one pair of sandals and one pair of sneakers. Although it was overwhelming for her, she couldn’t dare to refuse him, fearing that he might really kiss her unexpectedly in a public place like a department store if she didn’t comply.
He was someone who would do what he said.
