Gia couldn’t tell if Dylan’s feelings for Lola were genuine or not. Her brother rarely showed his emotions, and even if she asked, he wouldn’t honestly reveal anything. It was a relief if he didn’t say something she didn’t want to hear.
But seeing that Dylan had matched rings with Lola and even traveled together made it seem like he might be sincere.
Oh dear! This is giving me a headache. I have no idea what’s what.
There were many things she was curious about and wanted to ask, but Gia spoke words that were different from her chaotic thoughts.
“I saw the photos you posted on social media. The sky and the sea were so beautiful. The scenery was so stunning and lovely that it looked like a painting. I want to go, too.”
“Let’s go together next time.”
Lola affectionately linked her arm with Gia’s. Gia nodded in agreement, thinking it was a good suggestion, and suddenly felt a stiffness in her shoulders, so she began to massage them with her fists.
“Yeah. Next time, just the two of us should go. That would be fun.”
“Why? Is your shoulder hurting?”
Noticing a little late that Gia was feeling pain in her shoulder, Lola asked with concern.
“I’ve been on duty for two days straight from yesterday to today. Sometimes I envy you.”
“Two years will pass in no time, so just hang in there a little longer.”
Gia smiled at Lola’s comforting words.
“Our Lola has healing hands. It feels so refreshing when you do this. I think I might fall asleep.”
At Gia’s pleasant words, Lola smiled back but hesitated a bit before asking.
“Gia, is it true that Dylan has never dated anyone until now?”
“Yeah. But why are you asking again about something I already told you?”
Maybe it was due to his professional habits as a prosecutor, but he seemed skilled at handling people. Unlike her, who almost suffocated during a breath-stealing kiss, he remained completely composed.
And he seemed to be quite good at kissing, too. So, it was hard to believe that he had never dated anyone.
However, instead of being honest, Lola just mumbled vaguely.
“I don’t think he’s a novice.”
“Lola, it’s hard to believe, but this is the first time my brother has gone on a trip with a woman alone.”
At Gia’s words, a bright smile spread across Lola’s face.
“Lola.”
Gia, who had been enjoying the massage leisurely, suddenly jolted and tapped Lola’s arm.
“Hey, hey! I think your boyfriend is here looking for you.”
“My boyfriend?”
“Your lover.”
“My lover?”
“Dylan Eve is coming over there!”
Not understanding immediately, Lola looked confused as Gia raised her voice and pointed ahead.
Terms like boyfriend and lover still felt foreign to Lola. So, she didn’t grasp it right away, but when Gia mentioned his name, Lola sprang up like a coiled spring.
Following Gia’s finger, she saw Dylan approaching with a bouquet in hand.
Thump, thump. Why does my heart react so strongly whenever I see this man? She was happy to see him, but she couldn’t walk closer and stood awkwardly in place.
Gia, who had quickly jumped up from the bench, ran over to Dylan as if it was a good opportunity.
“Big Brother, I need to talk to you!”
Seeing Gia holding onto his arm, Dylan frowned.
“I don’t have anything to say to you.”
“I have something to say to you. It’ll only take a moment.”
“Later.”
Dylan rejected her without hesitation, to the point of being heartless, and Gia’s expression crumpled.
“Let go of that hand!”
Dylan gestured to Gia’s hand, which was still gripping his arm.
Whenever Dylan treated her so coldly, Gia felt genuinely hurt. However, she wasn’t the type to just sit back and take it. She turned to Lola and asked defiantly.
“Lola, doesn’t my brother treat you coldly, too?”
“Stop saying unnecessary nonsense and go quickly!”
Dylan shook off her hand and pushed her away. Gia, taken aback, raised her chin defiantly.
“No matter how delicious the food is, you get tired of it after a few bites. If you bring flowers every time you come, your girlfriend will get bored and quickly lose interest. Why not try something a bit more original next time?”
Dylan’s gaze towards Gia, who muttered with a sulky tone, was indifferent. That kind of gaze was even more chilling and unsettling, making Gia shudder.
“I’ve told you several times to speak nicely, Gia Eve. Where did you learn that nasty temper? You weren’t always like this.”
“If you want nice words to come back, you should start by speaking nicely yourself, Big Brother. Then I’ll speak nicely, too.”
“I don’t have time to argue with you. Hurry up!”
Dylan waved his hand dismissively. Gia, with a pouty expression, snorted and walked away.
“But do you know the meaning of the flowers you bring?”
Gia left after turning Dylan’s insides upside down with her sarcastic tone.
