“Honestly, I don’t really know who that woman is either. But I told you before, my brother has no interest in women. So, you don’t have to worry unnecessarily.”
Gia said to reassure her, but Lola still couldn’t shake off her unease.
That woman had to be exceptionally pretty.
And even though their eyes had met earlier, Dylan had pretended not to notice.
“Hey! Don’t let a strange woman ruin our good mood. Let’s do something fun.”
“Something fun? What is that?”
Lola asked, curious. Gia took her phone out of her bag and moved to sit next to Lola. She placed one hand on Lola’s shoulder and whispered softly.
“Let’s take a selfie.”
Gia turned on her phone camera and adjusted the angle.
“Lola, smile. One, two, smile.”
The two women began to immerse themselves in taking selfies, making peace signs and various expressions while laughing at each other.
“Hey! This photo turned out terrible with my face looking too big. You have to delete it, okay?”
Lola pouted, clearly displeased as she looked at the selfie they had just taken.
“Let’s take it again! Doing this is really fun after such a long time, right?”
Lola agreed with Gia’s words and this time propped her chin up with both hands, making a cute face. Gia smiled brightly and pressed the shutter.
After taking all the selfies, the expressions on the two women’s faces changed frequently as they checked the photos saved in the gallery. They smiled, then pouted, and burst into laughter over something amusing.
Dylan, sitting at a table where he could easily see the two women with just a slight lift of his head, had been enjoying watching them for a while.
In a short time, Dylan was able to see various expressions on Lola’s face.
There were smiles, cute poses, and even a sulky pout.
Many of those expressions had never been shown to him.
She was incredibly charming when she smiled, but it seemed she didn’t even realize it.
“Looks like they are really close? They stick together like shadows every time I see them.”
Alan mumbled to himself as he turned his head to follow Dylan’s gaze, observing the two women’s actions with interest.
Earlier, they had been laughing and chatting while taking selfies, but now they were wrapping lettuce and feeding each other. The way the two women acted was so entertaining and adorably childish for their age that just watching them was a delightful sight.
Nia, who had been grilling meat alone, was appalled to see the two men completely absorbed in something else.
She knew exactly who they were looking at.
They really had no eyes for beauty right in front of them. Did they not see her?
She felt a twinge of wounded pride.
Nia tapped the table with her hand, feigning disappointment.
“This is really too much. With a pretty woman like me right in front of you, if you keep looking elsewhere, I’m really going to get upset.”
“Oh, sorry! They were just so entertaining. I wonder if all the young kids these days act like that. Dylan, how old is Teacher Gia this year?”
“Thirty-one.”
“Still a good age! But what about your friend next to you? She seems quite cute the more I look at her.”
Alan had yet to notice the cold expression that had settled on Dylan’s face at those words. However, Nia, who caught the change in Dylan’s expression, smirked slightly.
“Hey! Stop looking at them and grill some meat.”
Alan waved his hand in front of Dylan’s eyes. Even while grilling the meat, Dylan found himself unconsciously glancing back at Lola. The moment their eyes met, the smile on Lola’s face vanished as quickly as if it were a lie. Seeing Lola flustered and quickly turning her head away made Dylan furrow his brow.
It really bothered him that she was so eager to avoid his gaze.
And how much time had passed?
It seemed their meal was over as the two women packed their bags and stood up. Dylan also slowly rose and walked toward the counter.
“I’ll pay.”
As Dylan approached the counter, he saw Lola and Gia and said. Gia shrugged her shoulders.
“That sounds good. Sure, Big Brother will pay. And we’ll see about that later!”
Forget about saying thank you; what did she mean by “we’ll see about that later”?
Dylan understood the implication behind Gia’s words. It must have twisted his mood to see Nia sitting next to him.
While he understood Gia’s feelings, he was displeased with her lack of manners.
“Gia Eve, do you know that it’s rude not to say thank you?”
“Should I bow down and thank you then?”
“They say a word can repay a thousand debts. Is that all you can say?”
Dylan said with a hint of sarcasm. Gia snorted in response.
