“Why aren’t you taking off my pants?”
Dylan asked when Lola failed to touch his pants buckle even after taking off his suit and shirt.
“You’re really annoying at times like this.”
Dylan’s eyebrows twitched at the unexpected answer.
He found Lola, who seemed a little bolder than before, both pleasing and amusing, so Dylan playfully dragged out the conversation.
“Why am I annoying?”
“Because you’re… you’re making things difficult for me.”
“Hmm…….”
Dylan reluctantly gave up, seemingly disappointed, and stood up.
“Okay. I’ll have to live with you for the rest of my life, so I shouldn’t be hated by you from the start. I’m going to wash up.”
And he strode into the bathroom.
His words from a moment ago lingered, echoing in her ears.
‘Living together for the rest of our lives.’
It was a word that made her heart flutter, pound, and feel happy just by hearing it.
Lola quietly repeated the words, then got off the bed with a smile on her face. And with his clothes in her hands, she headed to the dressing room.
When Lola returned to the bedroom, Dylan was already lying in bed.
Seeing her approaching the bed, Dylan said, “You must be tired too, let’s go to sleep quickly.”
“Yes, dear.”
Even though she said she was tired, Dylan’s hands and lips couldn’t stay still for a moment once Lola got into bed.
After sucking on her lips for a long time, Dylan casually asked.
“You don’t have anything special planned this weekend, do you?”
“Why? Dear.”
“Let’s go out and play.”
Whenever he, with his rigid and prickly personality, said things like this, it felt somehow detached from his cold image.
Lola, unknowingly letting out a chuckle, snuggled into his firm chest and asked curiously.
“What are we going to do?”
“I was thinking of going on a picnic.”
“A pi-picnic?”
“Yeah. Ride bikes and fly kites in the sky…….”
Dylan paused for a moment before suddenly asking.
“Have you ever flown a kite?”
“No.”
As Lola shook her head, Dylan muttered to himself.
“Is flying a kite too old-fashioned and outdated?”
“No. It sounds really fun.”
“Then that’s a relief. You’ve been cooped up at home for days, so you must be really stuffy. I thought it wouldn’t be bad to get some fresh air.”
She had gone through quite a harrowing experience and must have been shocked and traumatized.
Yet, he couldn’t help but admire Lola for regaining her vitality so quickly as if nothing had happened.
So, he wanted to create happy memories for her before she returned to the hospital, and he thought it would be good for her to get some fresh air, forget her worries, and improve her mental and physical health, so Dylan made that suggestion.
The smile on Lola’s face deepened at Dylan’s words.
“Should I pack a lunch?”
“Yeah. That would be good.”
And then the two began to ravage each other’s lips again.
That day, the two didn’t mention a single word about Amaya Declan, who evoked unpleasant feelings just by hearing her name.
As if such a person had never existed in the first place.
******
The sky was so blue.
The clear weather, without a single cloud, made it a perfect day for a picnic.
A smile like the brilliant morning sun bloomed on Lola’s face as she sat on the back of the bicycle Dylan was riding.
The occasional autumn breeze felt so good that exclamations poured out of her lips.
“Wow! Dear, it’s so exciting and great to be out here.”
Lola hugged Dylan’s waist with both hands, then spread her arms wide and closed her eyes slightly, letting the gentle breeze wash over her.
Listening to the joyful sounds of admiration and laughter from behind, Dylan diligently pedaled the bicycle.
As expected!
Dylan thought it was a good idea to come on a picnic. He felt refreshed in both body and mind, and his mind felt clear.
For today, both of them decided to focus only on playing, without thinking about anything or worrying about anything.
“Dear, let’s go together.”
Earlier, Dylan had Lola sit behind him and rode the bicycle, but this time they each rode their own bicycle. At first, they rode side by side, but when Dylan suddenly sped up, Lola diligently pedaled and shouted.
Did he hear her?
As Dylan slowed down, Lola quickly caught up.
The two started riding their bicycles side by side again on the bike path.
Suddenly, a mischievous look appeared on Lola’s face, and she suddenly sped up, overtaking Dylan’s bicycle.
“That’s cheating.”
She waved her hand and disappeared into the distance.
Dylan, with a smile on his face at the sound of her laughter, diligently pedaled and chased after her.
After riding bicycles for about two hours, the two came to the park to fly a kite. The wind was blowing, so there were quite a few people flying kites in the park.
But while other people’s kites were flying high in the sky, the two people’s kite didn’t budge.
Even when they pulled the kite string so hard that they felt a taut tension in their hands holding the reel, or shook it back and forth, their kite either plummeted to the ground or got caught in the trees.
“Dear, do something. Why isn’t our kite flying?”
Lola, staring blankly at the kites flying high in the sky in other people’s hands, said with a sulky expression, as if she was impatient.
“It’s not moving, what can I do?”
“You’re a genius.”
“Does a genius do everything well?”
“Yes. In my eyes, you’re a god, a god. So, make it fly.”
Dylan shook his head in disbelief. He was displeased, but he couldn’t just throw it away in annoyance, seeing her expression burning with determination as if she could never give up like this.
At first, Dylan held the reel and controlled the kite by winding and unwinding the string, but when it didn’t work, Lola snatched the reel. And at some point, the two of them worked together, unwinding and winding the string on the reel, making changes.
If sincerity is extreme, flowers bloom even in the dead of winter.
The two people’s efforts did not betray the results, and the kite with a long tail finally began to fly high in the sky, carried by the moderately blowing wind.
“Wow! It’s amazing. Dear, look at this. The kite is flying.”
Lola clapped her hands in delight and jumped up and down like crazy. Dylan’s lips also curved upward, drawing an arc, as he watched her smiling brightly.
