The next day, around 11 AM, three people sat facing each other across a rectangular table at a coffee shop near the hospital.
Felix Declan, Amaya’s husband, was a little taken aback to see the doctor sitting with a man when he had naturally expected her to come alone.
Felix took a deep breath and cautiously opened his mouth.
“I thought you’d be alone.”
“Stop the bullshit and tell me why you wanted to meet.”
Amaya’s husband wasn’t the perpetrator who assaulted Lola, but he was directly related to Amaya, so Dylan couldn’t see him in a good light, and he couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable.
Then, the cumbersome words poured out of his mouth.
“You have a rough mouth.”
Unlike his perfectly handsome face, the aura emanating from the man felt intense and cold, but Felix resolved not to be intimidated.
He would do anything to divorce Amaya, who had a strange personality, as soon as possible.
“He’s my husband,” Lola briefly introduced Dylan to Felix.
“Ah,” Felix nodded once.
“I got pretty hurt this time, so my husband is angry and upset. Please understand.”
Lola asked Felix, who was nodding again as if he understood.
“Why did you want to see me?”
“First of all, I regret that this unfortunate incident occurred. I’m sincerely sorry to you, Ms. Lola.”
Dylan’s lips curled into a sneer, as the man’s apology felt insincere.
However, Dylan didn’t interrupt the man yet.
Let’s listen to what kind of bullshit he’s going to say.
“Since you’re Amaya’s doctor, you know her condition better than anyone else, right? Amaya sometimes has moments when she’s not in her right mind. I think she may have committed the assault in a state of diminished capacity.”
As he had expected, the situation was unfolding as he had predicted.
Even though he hadn’t particularly expected anything from these shameless people, Dylan felt bitter for no reason.
No, he was furious.
“So, what are you trying to say?”
Dylan asked in a low, cold voice. Felix leaned forward slightly and opened his mouth again.
“If you tell me what you want, I’ll do anything for you. As I said before, I have a lot of money.”
“What do you want?”
Dylan barely suppressed a scoff and asked the man, cutting to the chase. Felix clasped his hands together and carefully proposed.
“I hope you’ll quietly settle this.”
How brazen.
A look of disbelief filled Dylan’s face.
“Can you put down a hundred billion right now?”
“Huh? A, a hundred billion?”
He said with his own mouth that he had a lot of money, and he promised to give her anything she wanted, but Felix couldn’t close his gaping mouth because the amount Dylan called for was too large.
Seriously, do people just say a hundred billion as soon as they open their mouths these days?
It’s not like a hundred billion is the name of the dog next door.
“You can’t, can you? To me, my wife is worth more than a hundred billion. And she got hurt. Your wife did something worse than a dog to my wife! Do you know that? Do you not know? Here, her shoulder…”
Dylan paused and pointed to Lola’s shoulder with his finger.
“Her shoulder and back were torn and stitched up with eight stitches. If she was hurt this badly, you can’t even imagine how much my wife must have been in pain, how agonizing it must have been, how terrible it must have been.”
Would I feel better if I punched that shameless man in the jaw right now?
Would my heart be at ease?
But what about Lola?
Her scars will remain forever, and the fear she experienced at that time will not easily disappear.
Dylan’s heart darkened again.
“Your wife isn’t human. A human wouldn’t be able to beat up a doctor like that. If a person does something worse than an animal, they should pay the price, don’t you think?”
‘What, eight stitches?’
Felix was very embarrassed because he had never imagined that the doctor was so seriously injured.
“The police investigation will begin soon. They’ll also investigate whether you’re an accomplice or not. Listen carefully. I will never settle. I’m going to use everything I have to make sure your wife gets punished.”
“W-wait. Just a minute!”
Felix raised his hand urgently, looking nervous.
“I think there’s some kind of misunderstanding here. I’m not in any kind of relationship with Amaya.”
He was just defending Amaya and asking for a settlement, but now he’s saying he’s not in any kind of relationship with Amaya.
What a despicable man!
Dylan raised the corners of his lips and sneered at Felix, who had changed his words in an instant. Felix quickly began to explain.
“You know, Ms. Lola, Amaya and I are getting a divorce soon…”
Dylan waved his hand, cutting off Felix’s words.
“That’s none of my business! What I want to say is that if your wife wants to reduce her sentence even a little, she should cooperate with the police investigation. There are more than one or two witnesses, so it’ll be hard to get away with it.”
Felix felt a sense of crisis at the man’s firm attitude.
This didn’t seem like a simple assault, and it didn’t seem like a simple problem that could be easily resolved with a settlement.
There’s no point in getting caught up in something troublesome.
Felix wisely judged that it would be better to get out quickly and stood up from his seat.
“I’m sorry for all the trouble today.”
There was no point in sitting there any longer, and he couldn’t bear the embarrassment, so Felix said goodbye and hurried out of the coffee shop.
And as he left the coffee shop, he immediately called Amaya with a face full of anger.
