Arrogant Husband and Timid Wife – Chapter 188

Take it off

It had only been two days since he’d been home, but it felt like a long time.

She didn’t know how cold and stuffy it was to be in a hospital room as a patient.

Lola thought home was definitely more comfortable.

Perhaps it was because Dylan’s warm presence lingered throughout the house that she felt that way.

The areas where she had stitches in her back and shoulder throbbed and stung, but it was bearable compared to the day before and yesterday.

She had gotten plenty of sleep, so she felt good, and her physical condition seemed to have improved a bit.

Since Gia was working at the hospital today, Lola had asked Professor Kent for permission to rest at home.

Kent said she could rest until she was fully recovered, but Lola didn’t plan to take a long break.

‘But will it be okay?’

She had firmly silenced the people who knew about what happened that day, but Lola was secretly worried.

There were no secrets in the world, and rumors spread too quickly in this hospital.

If Dylan found out, she wondered how she would explain it. Even though she had already thought of suitable words, Lola still felt uneasy.

“Haa…….”

Lola sighed briefly and trudged to the kitchen.

Dylan’s (leaving work) time was approaching, so she was planning to prepare dinner.

Lola felt most excited and happy when she was cooking for Dylan.

She felt very pleased when she saw the man she loved enjoying the food she made.

Lola was putting on her apron when.

“Lola.”

A familiar voice reached the kitchen.

At first, she thought she had misheard, but…

“Lola.”

Another urgent voice came.

While thinking that it was definitely Dylan’s voice, Lola tilted her head in disbelief.

‘It’s not (leaving work) time yet.’

Lola went to the living room, very puzzled.

“Dear.”

Dylan, who was about to go up to the second floor, stopped and turned around at the sound of her calling him.

“But did you (leave work) already?”

Dylan hurried down the stairs. Seeing her standing there with an apron on, Dylan suddenly felt like his throat was tightening.

She was trying to prepare dinner even with her injured body.

‘Are you out of your mind? Are you crazy? Are you insane?’

Something welled up inside him, and it took some effort to avoid saying harsh words.

Only after a while was Dylan able to calmly say the next words.

“Take it off.”

“Pardon?”

“Take off your clothes!”

Dylan’s tone was almost commanding to Lola, who didn’t understand what he meant.

“Oh, Dear.”

Lola couldn’t figure out Dylan’s true intentions for suddenly telling her to take off her clothes.

Was he perhaps going to embrace her right here and now? But his expression and eyes looked too cold and fierce to make that assumption.

“Dear, why…?”

“Just be still.”

Dylan cut her off as he approached her and quickly took off her apron. Then, he unbuttoned her blouse one by one.

“Dear.”

Lola desperately grabbed Dylan’s hand to stop him, but she froze at the cold look in his eyes.

However, in contrast to his fierce expression, his touch was careful and tender.

Thump, thump, thump!

Lola’s heart pounded fiercely as each button was unfastened.

‘What should I do?’

Eventually, Dylan unbuttoned the blouse and pulled it halfway off. Lola squeezed her eyes shut. The multiple layers of gauze on her shoulder blurred his vision. Dylan’s pupils shook violently.

“Haa…….”

A sigh mixed with a groan escaped his lips.

“Turn around for a second.”

“Oh, Dear.”

“Don’t argue.”

Lola had no choice but to obey Dylan’s words.

He must have found out.

Lola knew that once he found out, she couldn’t stop him.

“Dear, I was careless and got a little hurt. But I’m much better today than I was the day before and yesterday. It doesn’t hurt at all…….”

Lola’s hastily and clumsily made-up excuse was soon buried by Dylan’s deep sigh.

There were multiple layers of gauze on her back as well. He didn’t even have the courage to remove the gauze and examine the wound closely.

Because hearing it and seeing it with his own eyes were vastly different in terms of the emotions he felt.

Dylan felt like his eyes were rolling back, and endless anger surged from within.

Without realizing it, Dylan clenched his fists tightly.

He would never forgive whoever had done this to Lola, and he would make sure they paid the price.

Dylan turned her around and buttoned up her blouse one by one.

“Dear, I’m sorry. I promised I wouldn’t get hurt…….”

“Don’t say anything right now.”

After buttoning up all the buttons, Dylan gently picked her up and sat her on the sofa.

“Let’s go to the hospital. Wait here for a moment.”

She wondered why he was going to the hospital, but seeing his stern expression, she couldn’t utter a word.

Dylan went upstairs to get Lola’s clothes and called Gia. As soon as Gia answered the phone, he got straight to the point.

“Gia, book a VIP room for me, and find out who Lola’s attending physician is. And find out who witnessed Lola being assaulted.”

Not long after the two arrived at the VIP room, Lola’s attending physician entered.

Dr. Otis from orthopedics glanced at Dylan, who was with Lola, before turning his gaze to her and asking the routine question.

“Ms. Lola, how are you feeling today?”

“I think I’m okay today.”

“What do you mean okay?”

Dylan, who was listening, burst out in anger at Lola’s nonchalant reply, causing Dr. Otis to flinch. Lola hung her head as if she had committed a sin.

Realizing belatedly that he had unconsciously expressed his emotions due to his impatience and anxiety, Dylan quickly regained his composure and asked, as if confirming,

“Are you Ms. Lola’s attending physician?”
