“Okay.”
Lola smiled brightly.
Dylan gently took her hand and started walking slowly through the maple forest, speaking again.
“Lola.”
“Yes.”
Lola looked at him questioningly when Dylan suddenly stopped walking.
“Thank you for becoming my wife.”
Although it was out of the blue, Lola’s heart pounded at the confession-like words.
Her lips trembled as she carefully opened them, needing to respond thoughtfully.
“Thank you for becoming my husband, Dylan.”
But once her lips opened, they didn’t close easily, and the words she had been holding back poured out like a waterfall.
“Thank you for sending me to the seminar. You’re a very busy person, but thank you for coming all the way here. And thank you for earlier, too.”
Dylan, who had heard her say thank you so many times in such a short moment, was speechless.
He looked at her with deep, profound eyes for a long time before pulling Lola into an embrace.
“On our wedding day, I’ll make you the most beautiful bride in the world.”
Lola blushed shyly. Dylan continued.
“I’ll make sure you remember our wedding as an unforgettable one.”
Soon after, he lowered his head and kissed her lips. This time, Lola didn’t avoid his soft flesh sliding into her mouth, but accepted it completely.
A gentle breeze blew pleasantly. A maple leaf, tinged with orange, softly fell and landed on Lola’s shoulder.
The wind blew again.
As the colorful autumn leaves rustled and fell onto the path, the two continued their kiss for a long time.

The nurse’s station was bustling.
It seemed that quite a few things had happened at the hospital while she was at the seminar.
The first news Lola heard was that the suspect who had been brought to the emergency room was now stable enough to be discharged.
“It’s such a relief. I was so intimidated by that prosecutor, he was so rigid and inflexible.”
A first-year resident shuddered and complained. Another resident nodded vigorously in agreement.

Nurse Sasha glanced at Lola and told the residents to stop using ventriloquism. But they didn’t understand and just looked bewildered, continuing to chatter.
“They said that patient will be discharged the day after tomorrow.”
“That’s a relief. I feel like a weight will be lifted off my chest if I don’t have to see that prosecutor’s face again.”
“I’ve decided. I’m not going to look for a boyfriend who’s a prosecutor. I don’t think I could live with a man like that for even a day.”
Unable to listen anymore, Nurse Sasha chimed in.
“Not all prosecutors are like that. Dr. Lola is here, how upset would she be? Doctor Gia wouldn’t be happy if he heard that either.”
“Why would Doctor Gia be…?”
The resident trailed off, belatedly realizing her mistake and quickly covering her mouth with her hand.
Almost everyone knew that Doctor Gia’s brother was a prosecutor, even if they didn’t know who Lola’s husband was.
“I should go do my rounds in the ward.”
“I have to go to the emergency room too.”
Nurse Sasha shook her head as she watched the residents flee from the station as if running away.
“Dr. Lola, don’t take it too seriously. Just let it go.”
Lola smiled at Nurse Sasha, as if to say she was okay. Then, she looked at the head nurse and cautiously opened her mouth.
“How is Amaya doing these days?”
Lola asked the head nurse, but Nurse Sasha waved her hand dismissively and shuddered.
“Oh, don’t even mention it. There was a big commotion yesterday too.”
“What happened?”
This time, the head nurse looked at Lola with anxious eyes and urged her with a worried tone.
“It seems like Amaya is having seizures more often these days. She also seems to be in a really bad mood. Doctor, be careful. She’s scary when she has a seizure.”
Unlike Xavier, who was gradually improving, Amaya was still stuck in the same place.
It had been over a week since she was admitted, but she refused to say anything and didn’t cooperate at all.
As a result, there was no progress in her treatment.
“Did you administer the anti-anxiety medication today?”
“Yes, of course.”

The man had already repeated the same words to Amaya several times. But Amaya couldn’t agree to the divorce.
It wasn’t because she loved the man so much that she didn’t want to break up.
She had an arranged marriage according to her parents’ wishes, so her feelings for the man weren’t deep.
