At the sound of the hospital room door closing, Amaya sat up as if she had been waiting. She picked up her phone and called someone.
-What?
As soon as the call connected, a woman’s curt voice came through.
Amaya’s expression turned sulky at the unpleasant tone of the other person. Her words didn’t come out sweetly.
“Hey! How long do I have to stay here?”
-Why are you asking me? You should know better.
The cold response made one side of Amaya’s mouth curl up in a smirk.
“Are you saying to go ahead and torment Lola Dax?”
-If you can get kicked out of the hospital altogether, that would be even better.
For some reason, Amaya let out a small laugh.
“Now I’m really curious about why you said that.”
-If you’re going to talk nonsense, don’t.
“It’s about Lola Dax. Aren’t you going to listen?”
Of course, she wouldn’t refuse.
Confident, Amaya pulled her lips into a smile.
-Hurry up and talk. I’m busy.
“Busy, huh?”
-Amaya. Don’t forget the terms of our contract.
As a warning came from the other end of the line, Amaya quickly shot back.
“Don’t you forget either!”

With an urging tone, Amaya slowly opened her mouth.
“Why do you hate Lola Dax so much? It seems like you hate her to the point of wanting to kill her. So I’m curious.”

“Did Lola Dax steal a guy you like or something?”
When no immediate answer came, Amaya laughed out loud.
“Oh my! It must be true then.”
There was no response from the other end, but Amaya continued to chatter away.
“I wonder what kind of guy could make you so angry? I’m really curious.”

Amaya’s expression was icy as she spoke quietly.

As Lola stepped out of Amaya’s hospital room, her phone rang before she could catch her breath.
It was a call from a junior resident.
It seemed an emergency had arisen.
Sure enough, as soon as Lola answered the phone, a frantic voice came through the speaker.
-Senior.
“What’s going on?”
-You remember the patient who was admitted a few days ago? The suspect who attempted suicide while being investigated by the prosecution.
“Yeah. Why? Is there a problem?”
-The patient has woken up. But the prosecutor is here again. It’s chaos right now.
“Got it. I’ll head over right away.”
Lola didn’t need to hear the resident’s explanation in detail. As soon as she heard that the suspect had woken up, it was clear that Prosecutor Frank had rushed over.
Thinking how fast news travels, Lola hurriedly started to run.
A little later, in front of the emergency room.
Just as Lola had predicted, Frank was arguing with a nurse.
“I heard the suspect has woken up.”
“The patient still needs to rest.”

“What if that guy escapes after meeting you? Are you going to take responsibility?”
