“The patient was originally under Dr. Becky’s care, but they suddenly decided to change the attending physician.”
As Kent spoke, he handed Lola the patient chart.
“Do you know this patient, by any chance?”
The patient’s name was Amaya Declan. It stated that she was 33 years old.
Since it was a name she had never heard before, Lola shook her head.
“No.”
After thinking for a moment, Kent narrowed his brows and pressed his finger against his temple, finally opening his lips after a while.
“It seems that Lola Dax has a good reputation among the patients. This patient specifically requested to be treated by you.”
“Really?”
“She’s a patient with a personality disorder, and she absolutely refused inpatient treatment, so she had been receiving outpatient care until now. But for some reason, she suddenly agreed to inpatient treatment.”
“Ah, I see.”
“Since it was a patient Dr. Becky was taking care of, he would know the patient well. If you want to know more about the patient, you can ask Dr. Becky.”
“Yes, Professor.”
Although she didn’t show any signs in front of Kent, Lola couldn’t shake off the uneasy feeling as she scanned the patient chart with her eyes.
There were several points of suspicion.
She was doubtful about why the attending physician was suddenly changed and why she was chosen as the new attending physician.
Amaya Declan.
Even though she was a woman Lola didn’t know at all, for some reason, an inexplicable sense of unease seeped into a corner of her heart.

Standing in front of the door to the 21st-floor VVIP patient room where Amaya was admitted, Lola took a deep breath and lightly knocked before entering the room.
Amaya, dressed in a patient gown, approached Lola with her hands in her pockets. She circled around Lola and then smirked, raising an eyebrow.
“Are you my attending physician?”
“Hello. Nice to meet you. I’m Lola Dax, and I’ll be in charge of your treatment starting today.”
After briefly introducing herself, Lola quietly observed the woman.
With a height that was neither tall nor short and a slightly dark complexion, the woman’s appearance seemed fine, but there was an inexplicable hostility in her piercing gaze and expression.
That was strange.
Lola couldn’t understand why the woman, who voluntarily said she wanted to be treated by her, was looking at her with such animosity.
Moreover, she was a woman Lola had never seen before.
“Lola Dax. I knew your name. I thought you might be something special.”
Amaya scanned Lola from head to toe and then shook her head.
It was a demeanor that made one feel uncomfortable, but Lola didn’t forget her duty as a doctor and responded calmly.
“Can we talk for a moment? Just think of it as a casual conversation with me.”
“Today, just seeing your face is enough. I’m a bit tired. Let’s talk in detail starting tomorrow.”
Even though she had dealt with personality disorder patients before, this time felt a bit different.
Lola already felt a tightening sensation in her throat, but she tried hard to maintain her composure.
“Ah, yes. It will take some time to adjust to inpatient treatment. Please rest well today.”
Amaya waved her hand dismissively, urging Lola to leave. Lola nodded lightly and opened the door to exit.
As soon as the door closed, Amaya wore a sinister expression, took out her phone, and called someone.
-Hello.
As the distinctive haughty voice came through the receiver, Amaya blurted out without any preamble.
“I just met that woman.”
-Really?
“But honestly, she’s nothing special. There’s nothing remarkable about her. She was just ordinary.”
Suddenly, Amaya’s lips twisted coldly. The voice that seeped through her red lips was chilling.
“I’ll do everything you ask, so you must keep your promise.”
-Then.
“If you break your promise, you know what will happen, right?”
A voice that sounded somewhat annoyed came through the receiver.
-Oh my! Are you threatening me right now?
“It’s not a threat; it’s just that since we’re cooperating, let’s do well together.”
In response to her calm tone, a light laugh came back.
-Okay. Make sure to torment that woman thoroughly.
“Don’t worry about that!”
She had done it often before.
Amaya was someone who had a knack for tormenting others.
What wouldn’t she do to get what she wanted?
After hanging up, Amaya spread her arms and began to dance, fluttering around.
She had been feeling down lately because life wasn’t going her way, but now she felt good for the first time in a while, as if an interesting spectacle had appeared.
Getting what she wanted and tormenting someone.
It was truly killing two birds with one stone.
