“All done.”
After tying her shoelaces, Dylan chuckled softly and carefully helped her stand.
“Dear, I’ll go first.”
Since she had to go back to the ward soon, Lola said that and hurried off.
“Don’t run, walk slowly.”
Although Lola wouldn’t walk slowly even if he told her to, Dylan made a pointless request and watched her back as she practically ran, his gaze lingering for a long time.
“Did you see that?”
Tadeo, leaning against the window in the hallway, nudged the intern Nia with his elbow. Nia’s face contorted because she knew exactly what he was talking about.
With eyes, how could she not see? She saw it very clearly.
She didn’t know what they were doing with their heads together from afar, but Dylan and Lola Dax looked very affectionate, making Nia’s anger boil inside her.
“I was really curious who Dylan would marry. But it’s that woman. You know her, right? Our professor’s attending physician.”
Nia’s expression darkened and wavered noticeably, but Tadeo seemed not to notice anything unusual yet.
“I thought Dylan was a non-marriage person. But you saw it just now. I’m not used to Dylan like this. It’s totally creepy, you know?”
Tadeo shivered as he spoke. The more he spoke, the more miserable Nia felt.
“I can’t believe that Dylan, such an impregnable man, is doing this whole love thing. I can’t believe it even when I see it.”
Dylan’s extremely prickly personality, taking care of a woman and treating her gently, was quite unfamiliar to Tadeo as well.
Because of that, Tadeo talked a lot. Nia’s ears buzzed, and she felt like her eyes would roll back.
Seeing the smile he only gave her, she could tell what expression that woman was making without even seeing her.
‘She must be smiling happily.’
What expression would Dylan have if he saw that woman crying?
Nia couldn’t help but be very curious.
No, she thought she knew.
He would crumble instantly.
‘Dylan, I really want to see you crumble.’
Nia’s fists clenched involuntarily.
‘How can I make you crumble?’
Nia’s mind started working quickly.
Then suddenly, one corner of her lips curled up cruelly, and she started to move.
It was because a pretty good idea flashed into her mind like lightning.
“Hey! Are you leaving already?”
Tadeo asked from behind, but she ignored him, took out her phone from her bag, and called someone.
As soon as the call connected, Nia opened her red lips and said,
“Shall we meet now?”
Lola was giving orders when Nurse Sasha, who had just finished her rounds, approached the station and whispered to Lola,
“Did you like the gift?”
Lola’s face immediately flushed. And her heart, which had been perfectly fine a moment ago, started beating fast.
“I almost died of embarrassment.”
“So you didn’t try it on?”
As if she understood from Lola’s expression, Nurse Sasha showed a disappointed look.
“Your husband would have really liked it.”
Would he have?
Lola couldn’t imagine what expression Dylan would make seeing her in a sexy nightgown.
No, out of embarrassment, that day would never come.
“Nurse Sasha, you’re teasing me, right?”
“Of course not. Lola, isn’t this the perfect time for you? I’m just envious. I want to wear it, but I don’t have the chance. You need someone who will let you wear it, you know.”
Lola sighed.
‘Am I too naive?’
She thought that for a moment.
“What were you two talking about so amusingly?”
Gia asked curiously, having arrived at some point, and Lola glared at her, not unkindly. Then she blurted out something nonsensical.
“Gia, I can’t live because of you.”
Gia was bewildered, but Nurse Sasha chuckled aloud.
“Lola said she didn’t try it on. Too bad.”
At Nurse Sasha’s words, Gia finally seemed to understand and burst into laughter.
“Too bad. Dylan would have gone crazy if he saw it.”
“Ugh, really! Do you know how embarrassed I was that day? How can I possibly wear such clothes?”
An emergency call came, so Lola muttered something and left the station.
“My new sister-in-law is too shy.”
She said that while shaking her head gently, but Gia felt warm inside.
Apparently, Dylan and Lola had visited Lola’s parents and had even registered their marriage.
So all that’s left is the wedding ceremony?
Thinking that she should quickly prepare their wedding gift, Gia couldn’t wipe the bright smile off her face.
As soon as she received a notification from the junior resident, Lola rushed to the emergency room and asked what was going on.
“What’s going on?”
“A suspect who was undergoing a prosecutorial investigation attempted suicide. The surgery department consulted psychiatry just in case.”
The details were that after finishing the afternoon investigation, the suspect, while waiting in the detention center, a waiting area inside the prosecutor’s office, for the evening investigation to continue, attempted suicide by hanging himself in the restroom inside.
