“I only like you, Dylan. No other man catches my eye. I’ve never seen anyone as good-looking and capable as you.”
Dylan seemed to be pleased with her words, softening his gaze.
“What if that guy tries to hit on you again? I’m worried. Maybe I should have just locked him up at the police station earlier?”
Indeed.
What if that persistent suitor starts bothering me again?
Knowing how terrifying and dreadful obsession can be, Lola still felt her worries were not entirely gone.
However, she didn’t want to worry Dylan.
“Dear, I’m not scared at all anymore.”
Dylan looked at Lola quietly.
As she moved closer to him, Lola linked her arm with his.
“You’re a prosecutor, right? The man who will be my husband is a prosecutor, so what do I have to be afraid of? I feel so secure.”
“If that guy pulls any nonsense again, call me right away.”
“Yes. I will. If it happens again, I’ll send an SOS to you.” Lola said this with a gentle smile.
Her smile made her look even prettier, and Dylan felt an overwhelming urge to kiss her white face right then and there. Yet, he had to hold back, clearing his throat awkwardly and speaking in a deliberately gruff tone.
“Let’s go.”

It had only been a little while past lunchtime, but there were quite a few people standing in front of the hospital elevator. Perhaps due to the sudden appearance of the suitor, Dylan was overly protective of Lola today.
He pulled her closer to him to avoid her bumping into others, holding her hand tightly and not letting go.
Although he felt the glances of people looking at them from all around, Lola, unlike usual, didn’t seem to care much.
She liked the warm sensation that seeped between her fingers, and she didn’t mind feeling protected by him.
Ding-!
As the elevator stopped on the first floor, people poured out. The waiting crowd then entered the open elevator.
Dylan and Lola got on almost last. Soon after, the doors closed, and as the elevator started moving, someone lightly tapped Lola on the shoulder.
“Oh, Dr. Becky.”
The curious gaze of Dr. Becky, a fellow classmate of Lola’s, lingered on Dylan, who was standing next to her.
Dylan’s brows furrowed immediately.
‘Who is that young man?’
He looked like a doctor from the hospital, given the white coat he was wearing.
He seemed to have a familiar face that Dylan had seen a few times.
While everything else was fine, Dylan was uncomfortable with the way he was acting friendly with Lola, which irritated him.
Even though the conversation between the two was perfectly ordinary, Dylan felt twisted inside.
“But are you okay? I heard that patient causes a ruckus several times a day?”
It’s none of your business whether my woman is okay or not!
Dylan barely managed to suppress the urge to snap back at him for being so nosy.
However, he was even more displeased with Lola’s expression.
Why are you smiling at another man?
“Yeah. It’s not like it happens just once or twice, so I have to get used to it.”
“Still, be careful. If you get hurt, it’s only you who suffers.”
So why are you worrying about my woman?
‘My woman is fine, so you can keep your unnecessary worries to yourself!’
Swallowing the growl that threatened to escape his lips, Dylan wrapped his arm around her waist. Lola looked up at him, startled.
Dylan matched her gaze and whispered in a small voice that only she could hear.
“Don’t smile at other guys. I don’t like it.”
Lola’s face turned bright red in an instant. Dylan tightened his grip around her waist, pulling her closer to ensure they wouldn’t be able to talk to each other.
But his actions were futile.
Ding!
As the elevator stopped on the 8th floor, where the psychiatric department was located, Lola said softly.
“Dear, I’ll get off first.”
Dylan had no choice but to release the arm he had wrapped around her waist. He couldn’t bring himself to grab her again as he watched her walk out with the male doctor in a white coat.
And he couldn’t just rush out and forcibly separate the two who were chatting amicably.
‘Who the hell is that guy?’
Since he works at the same hospital, he could find out later by asking Gia Eve, right?
Thinking he should ask Gia about that man, Dylan frowned at the unfamiliar feelings he was experiencing for the first time.
Seeing Lola talking and laughing with another man, he couldn’t understand why he felt so bad, leaving him perplexed.
Eventually, the elevator began to speed up again. As the numbers on the display changed rapidly and it stopped on the 19th floor, Dylan strode out of the elevator.
