Dylan hadn’t completely disregarded that thought.
However, as he was preparing to marry Lola, he realized there was a lot to get ready for.
With everything going on, including the MAZ automobile slush fund scandal that had captured the nation’s attention, he had been busier than ever.
“It’s okay. I told my mom that you would go with me when you have time.”
“I’ll try to make time as soon as possible.”
“Thank you.”
Then I feel even more sorry.
This woman was always like this.
She was grateful and apologetic for even the smallest things.
Sometimes it would be understandable for her to complain, but she always showed that she was okay.
That’s why he wanted to do more for her.
‘I’ll cherish you more.’
Instead of voicing that thought, Dylan kissed her forehead, then her eyes, nose, and lips in order.
Tap tap tap!
Like stamping a seal.

In front of the nurse station, Lola was looking over the chart of the patient she would be attending to today.
‘Xavier Atlas, 58 years old, male.’
The patient’s medical chart indicated a record of colon cancer surgery five years ago.
Three days ago, the patient was brought to the emergency room complaining of chest pain while sleeping, and according to him, he initially thought his colon cancer had recurred.
However, the stool tests and colonoscopy results showed no abnormalities.
Additionally, X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and echocardiograms were all normal, leading another department to suspect panic disorder and refer him to psychiatry.
“Lola, I heard you took a day off yesterday. Was something going on?”
Nurse Sasha, who had been observing Lola’s expression, couldn’t hold back her curiosity.
It was understandable since Lola had never taken a day off during her internship or in her fourth year of residency.
Just as Lola was about to respond, Gia, who was passing by to do her ward rounds, asked the same question.
“Lola, are you okay? What happened yesterday? I was a bit surprised when you took a day off.”
“Yeah, Lola, you’re not sick, are you?”
Seeing the worried looks from Nurse Sasha and Gia, Lola quickly waved her hands.
“It’s nothing serious. I actually went to get my dress fitted yesterday.”
“I’ve noticed that everyone is going for the wedding package these days. Aren’t you doing that too, Lola? It would be more convenient.”
Lola smiled softly in response to Nurse Sasha’s suggestion.
“I just got the dress fitted for now.”
I’m still confused about everything as I’m about to get married.
Meanwhile, Dylan Eve, who was busier than she was, seemed to have everything figured out for the wedding preparations.
While dating him, Lola couldn’t help but admire his meticulous way of handling things.
“It must have been tough.”
Gia looked at Lola with a sympathetic expression.
‘Of course, it was tough.’ She had to try on eight different dresses due to her picky brother, which was a real struggle.
Of course, she had received the special treatment from Dylan, so she had no complaints. But even with that thought tucked away, Lola smiled as if everything was fine.
“Since it must have been hard, why didn’t you take a good rest today?”
“I thought resting would be more frustrating.”
“Oh dear! Our Lola, how could you be so tired?” Lola smiled even wider at Gia’s sympathetic words.
She had worked hard yesterday, but she felt it was worth it because of the rewards she received.
“Gia, I have to go. I have work to do.”
“Okay. See you later.”
Gia headed to the ward, while Lola walked towards the VIP room where patient Xavier was.

As Lola lightly knocked on the patient room door a couple of times and entered, Xavier, dressed in a patient gown, sat up in bed.
As she approached, she noticed that although his hair was completely white, his eyes sparkled brightly, exuding elegance.
Lola greeted him formally.
“Hello, Mr. Xavier. I’m Miss Lola, and I’ll be in charge of your treatment starting today.”
“Hello. You’re a young and pretty doctor.”
For a moment, Xavier smiled at Lola’s soft voice, but then he sighed in frustration.
“I’ve been hospitalized for four days now. But my heart is fine, and my colon cancer hasn’t recurred. So what’s the problem? Psychiatry consultation? I’m such a bright and positive person. Depression, anxiety disorders, those things are far from me.”
A series of sighs escaped from between his teeth.
Lola understood his frustration.
He probably couldn’t comprehend it himself.
Many people had preconceived notions or biases against psychiatry, just like Xavier.
Having dealt with such patients before, Lola remained calm.
“Mr. Xavier, have you ever received psychiatric counseling before?”
“No.” Xavier shook his head vigorously.
