Alpha’s Betrayal – Chapter 66

I implore you

He had transformed into an agnostic and a fiend, so incensed by the term “mate” that he nearly killed a warrior from a rival pack who had challenged him over his mate.

“Provide me with a child, Nyla.”  Conceive a child with me.

“This is a rejection ceremony for Alpha Jason Graham and Luna Opora Graham.”

“I, Jason Graham, Alpha of the Sothis Star Pack, repudiate Opora Graham as my mate and Luna.”

As a male, he recalled the moment she had longed for her lover to provide her with a pup, and with Jason’s rejection, all memories resurfaced when he approached Talia and kissed her as his mate.

Upon revisiting memories from two years prior, the Alpha’s heartbeat became erratic, his face flushed crimson, and his wolf descended into madness. Lamba repeatedly howled in anguish.

I assure you that I cherish you. I am your companion. It was indeed an oversight.

“I implore you to reinstate my presence, Jason.”  I adore you.

Aaaahhhhhh! Jason tugged at his hair, screaming as he recalled the excruciating memories of his physical and emotional suffering in unfamiliar territories.

Lamba and he believed they were in despair due to their longing for Opora, however their companion had never yearned for them. He had been incapacitated for two days due to his wolf and could endure no further t*****e.

Lucas concealed his brother in a hotel room, and no medical professionals were able to save him. That was the day Lucas mourned, fearing he would never see his brother again.

On the day Jason’s link with Opora irrevocably fractured due to betrayal, he no longer felt pain thereafter. Jason lifted his gaze to admire the exquisite moon, remembering Opora’s remarks prior to her father forcibly taking her away.

“You cannot exist without a female, Jason.”  You require my assistance. You require a companion!”

The Alpha ascended from the earth, his ravenous gaze directed at the moon. The Moon Goddess had engaged with him once again. She had bestowed upon him a traitor, inflicted upon him rejection and torment, and now she had granted him a second shot at a mate! She had consistently aligned herself with Opora.

“Why Talia?” Jason clenched his teeth.

“Why her?” Jason bellowed furiously at the peak of his voice. Jason’s veins had engorged as if on the verge of rupture. If the Moon Goddess had misconstrued that he could not endure without a mate or female, she must awaken to reality!

He would never permit another woman to manipulate and deceive him. He would not endure the same suffering again.

The young she-wolf saw the elegant couples dancing in her vicinity. Lucas advised her to sit and await Jason’s return.

Lucas was exceedingly irate upon returning from the rear of the room to see her standing solitary in the centre of the platform without her Alpha. Talia had overheard Grandpa conversing with a man who stated that if the Alpha and Luna departed the stage prior to the ceremony’s conclusion, it would signify a negative omen.

Talia observed the peculiar and alarming occurrences immediately upon entering the marking ceremony, having no anticipation of any adverse events, and thus she awaited Jason’s return with patience.

Talia acquiesced to Lucas’s request and took the painful decision to exit the stage after Jason failed to return within 10 minutes.

Departing from this location marked the conclusion of all matters. A hand around her waist, drawing her back as she began to turn away.

“To what destination are you proceeding?” Jason grasped Talia’s hand gently over his chest while encircling her waist with his other hand in a dance position, akin to other couples. Vesta exuberantly exclaimed ‘mate’ within her human’s mind once more.

The young she-wolf experienced vitality in his hug again, while she remained aware of his emotions. The Sothis Star Pack applauded fervently, as it was the inaugural occasion they witnessed their Alpha dance.

Ashe had missed this occasion with Opora; he had never danced with her before. Lucas, Leo, and David breathed a sigh of relief as the irritable Grandfather beamed and lifted his head once more.

Talia asserted, “We are friends,” as she shifted awkwardly, lacking proficiency in dance.

“I am aware,” the Alpha said as succinctly as possible. Talia gazed at his chest for several seconds prior her replying.

“You do not desire me…” She was uncertain if it was a question or a statement, she appended.

“I do not desire a partner,” Jason declared, causing Talia to gaze into his emerald eyes, which had been observing her the entire time.

Vesta fell into a profound silence, overwhelmed with disbelief, while Talia preserved her composed demeanour despite her heartbreak. She had already discerned his lack of interest in a partner, yet it still pained her as it was an implicit rejection from Jason.

“Is there a method to return?” The she-wolf’s voice resembled a whisper; she refrained from choking and disclosing the profound impact of his words on her.

“I suppose not,” she replied to her own inquiry when the Alpha chose to keep silent.

“Had I been aware from the outset, then…” Jason began to articulate.

“Then you would have selected Lena, not a valueless woman like myself,” Talia interjected, startling Jason with the harsh reality of her existence.

Lena excels in all endeavours. In both academic and combative contexts. She is an exceptional daughter, an outstanding sister, and an impressive she-wolf. She was destined to be an ideal Luna. Talia asserted the obvious: “She embodies all that a man could desire, yet you erred in selecting me.”
