Alpha’s Betrayal – Chapter 37

Very well

He seemed to be disgusted by grading for several reasons. Jackson exhaled audibly. He had foreseen his grandson’s reaction, which is why he highlighted the marking ceremony in front of all present. Lucas maintained silence for an extended while before assisting his brother.

If he spoke, Jackson would perceive that circumstances were dissimilar to reality.

“Designating your companion is a crucial aspect of the procedure, Jason.”  Should it be revealed that the Luna has not been designated by the Alpha, rumours will proliferate rapidly. Adversaries will exploit that situation and assault us at any moment, supposing you are isolated.

As an Alpha, it is your duty to mate with and designate your Luna. Otherwise, individuals will scrutinise you,” Jackson elucidated. Jason had clenched his hands into fists beneath the table. He had introduced Talia to the pack to ensure silence in exchange for providing an heir, but the circumstances had altered.

“You must designate the Luna,” the elderly male reiterated. Talia’s entire physique experienced an overwhelming sensation of coldness. Her palm trembled as she gazed at her largely untouched lunch. How did the issue reach this point? They had been deliberating on mating and marking her. Jason’s profound quiet immobilised her.

“Very well, I shall proceed,” Jason affirmed. Talia’s eyes expanded in astonishment. Her heart momentarily raced, then swiftly sank in her stomach. She cast a startled glance at Jason. What on earth had he just articulated?

“I shall designate my Luna,” Jason proclaimed.

“I shall designate my Luna,” Jason proclaimed. Talia, having perspired excessively, turned to gaze at him in astonishment. He must have lost his sanity. Rather than declining, he was affirming commitments! What is the reason? Jason’s emotions were unpredictable. This was not what he had hoped for. Only the thought of marking had made him want to vomit, but he recognised that his Grandpa had been participating in a mind-link with the other elders.

F**k! Talia’s surrogacy would have been known if he had declined. All of the elders were bitter and would go to any length to gain a Luna for the pack. It had been fine for a time, but not anymore. Because she was Carter’s offspring, the young female’s life was in grave danger if she revealed herself to be a surrogate. The Alpha’s main objective now was to sever the throats of all the elders at once.

Lucas, Leo, and David had been watching his subjection with bated breath, but the old wolf had forgotten about his grandson owing to the unexpected good news.

“That’s great!”  their Grandpa exclaimed with delight, finally glancing at his other grandson, whom he had purposefully ignored until he had forced Jason to say yes.

“See, finally your brother made the right decision and got a beautiful Luna,” the old male mocked Lucas with a sneer. Only those close to them like Beta and Gamma could decode the actual significance of the Grandfather’s comments.

“Good for him, but I don’t believe marking is required. I believe we should stop wasting time on useless ceremonies and instead concentrate on more essential issues,” Lucas countered with a bored expression.

He could not express how much he desired to conclude this grading ceremony! It was an unfortunate situation. They required Luna and an heir, which Jason was endeavouring to supply; thus, why was marking imperative?

Talia would not be branded by Jason! He possessed a deeper understanding of his sibling than of himself. The more they coerced him, the more aggressive and intransigent he become. This elderly male exerted constant pressure on them to locate their partners and procreate.

Lucas was vexed by Jason’s carefully veiled anger attitude. Jackson gritted his teeth and winced. Rather of coercing Jason into mating and marking, he ought to have been fostering encouragement and asserting that it was superfluous.

“You scoundrel!” Mating and marking rituals are as vital as respiration. If Jason neglects the customs of the broader werewolf society, his Alpha status will be at risk; they were convening as a family rather than as Alpha or elder, prompting him to adopt a grandfatherly tone for admonishment. Every statement made by Jackson was precise, as the twin brothers were aware.

An Alpha lacking a mate or an heir would be displaced from his role by an individual capable of offering both to the pack. Following the rejection, Jason faced considerable pressure and opted for surrogacy to have an heir.

However, Grandfather had completely altered the narrative surrounding that unfortunate truth. Lucas remained silent following his remark as he examined Jason, who had scarcely succeeded in restraining the molten fury that had been accumulating within him. Talia, conversely, seemed to be increasingly agitated.

“You are indeed correct, my boy; we should focus on other matters, such as your failure to locate your soul mate.”  What transpired with her? Why is the chair adjacent to you still unoccupied? Jackson had launched many poisoned daggers at his defiant grandchild.

How could he propose such an idea when he had been without a partner? He consistently appeared disinterested in encountering his destined partner, which more vexed Jackson with each day that elapsed.

“I am uncertain.”  “Perhaps she neglected her birth,” Lucas dismissed his grandfather upon the mention of his companion, although the Beta and Gamma, together with their partners, erupted in laughter.

That specific Alpha consistently uttered surprising remarks, inducing perpetual stress and frustration in the elderly man. Their grandfather growled at them, rendering everyone solemn once again. The Beta and Gamma couples exhibited unruly behaviour.

“Lucas, you ought to locate your partner at the earliest opportunity.”  Jason is not the exclusive Alpha of the pack. You are both the leaders.

“Both of you must locate your partners and produce an heir,” the elder male stated softly, seeing Lucas’s tumultuous demeanour. Lucas abhorred being reminded of his status as the Alpha of the pack. He opted for silence, permitting the moment to elapse without contention.
