Alpha’s Betrayal – Chapter 27

I apologize

“However, her brother sexually assaulted and murdered my daughter!” She shrieked in desperation, unable to comprehend that Jason would choose the sister of a murderer as a partner. Talia’s eyes expanded as her entire body became frigid. She had not anticipated meeting the mother of the visually impaired female.

She immediately comprehended the reason for Diana’s intense fury regarding her simple presence in the packhouse. She desired to kill Talia in the same manner that Liam had slain her innocent, blind daughter. Jessica attempted to obstruct her path once more with all her strength, but Talia thwarted her.

“Do not impede her.”  Talia grasped Jessica’s hand, gently directing her to move aside. Diana was irrational. If she were to push Jessica, her child could be in risk.

Talia informed Diana, who was inhaling deeply and angrily like a bull, that she could express anything she desired.

“No,” Jessica quivered as the elder woman approached the Luna, although she was unable to disobey Talia’s commands.

Diana, the Alpha, established a mind link with me. He has issued directives prohibiting you from contacting the Luna. “You are requested to vacate the room immediately,” Jessica conveyed Jason’s message promptly before it became tardy.

“You ought to feel shame!” Diana glared at Talia, entirely ignoring Jessica. She understood that she could not physically harm Talia, yet she was free to express her thoughts without restraint at this moment.

Your brother murdered my daughter, and you join this pack as Jason’s mate. “I detest you and will not acknowledge you as my Luna.” Diana’s words were akin to venomous projectiles that Talia endured in silence, without protest or response. Despite being profoundly impacted by each remark, she permitted the distraught mother to articulate her anger, animosity, and exasperation.

“I apologize,” she conveyed her remorse with a bow. Although it may have been insufficient, she expressed her apologies. The repercussions of Liam’s actions were destined to torment her. She needed to come to terms with that. She needed to be prepared to confront it.

“As I previously stated, you should be ashamed!”  You should not even contemplate making eye contact with me! If you were genuinely remorseful, you would not dare to meet Jason’s gaze! Diana pivoted to depart, emitting a menacing snarl accompanied by a ferocious stare. She exited the room abruptly and thereafter departed from the packhouse. She had merely returned to get some of her possessions.

“Talia, are you well?” Jessica enquired. She bore a mournful expression for failing to assist her. She was in a quandary as Diana’s fury was justifiable. No one had foreseen that Talia was the offspring of the adversary. Talia inhaled deeply, attempting to dismiss the derogatory remarks and animosity-laden stares.

“I am well…” she said, suppressing her tears.

“What transpired here?” Jason entered the room with a roar. Jessica recoiled at the furious Alpha. Was he not there at the airport? What motivated his rapid return? Talia gasped, astonished by the fury reflected in his wolf-like eyes, as though he harboured a desire to kill. What caused his intense anger?

The driver observed Jason leaving the packhouse about five minutes after departing with Talia and Jessica. The Omega promptly opened the vehicle door for the Alpha and Beta. Jason occupied the passenger seat, subtly indicating to the driver that Leo would assume the role of driver. Upon concluding his shift, the Omega threw the keys to Leo. He observed the vehicle accelerate as he proceeded towards home.

“I will inform you upon our arrival at the airport; in the interim, please relax,” Leo proposed, turning to address Jason. The Alpha reclined in his seat with his eyes shut. His attractive visage exhibited indications of fatigue. Leo laughed softly and refocused on driving.

They had been only a few distance up the road when someone said, “Isn’t that Lucas’s car?” Leo murmured.

The dormant Alpha abruptly opened his eyes. “Halt the vehicle and lower your window,” Jason commanded, identifying his brother’s car. Lucas instructed his driver, David, to comply similarly.

The two drivers halted their vehicles adjacent to one another. David inclined his head to Jason, while Leo did the same to Lucas.

“Are you so eager to see me, brother?” Lucas laughed softly, attempting to mask his crimson eyes, which were brimming with fury.

“You caused me concern, scoundrel!” Jason expressed his annoyance with a snarl. Jason discerned the underlying emotions behind his identical brother’s composed exterior. They could perceive each other’s emotions even across considerable distances. What was Lucas’s motivation for attempting to appear nonchalant? The day had been arduous for all. “David, accompany Leo,” the Alpha commanded.

“Affirmative, Alpha.”  David manoeuvred the vehicle to pursue Leo and the Alpha. The brothers traversed from opposing sides of their domain to convene. They had numerous topics to deliberate.

Following their cousin’s funeral, Lucas remained to perform the burial ceremonies, while Jason departed for the Sardinia Moon Pack. It was essential for the pack’s Alpha to be present in both locations; so, they divided the tasks and responsibilities as customary.

Jason intended to eradicate the remnants of the pack following the initial assault on Sardinia Moon. He intended to behead Alpha Carter, Luna Mabel, and their surviving son Tony. However, circumstances rapidly transformed. Although Lamba concentrated on Alpha Carter’s youngest daughter, Jason perceived the escalating fury in his twin.
