Alpha’s Betrayal – Chapter 17

Your account

She would be unable to complete her education as rogues were prohibited from obtaining one. No destined or selected partner would likely accept her after she had borne a child from another male. She was acutely cognisant of the severe reality of her environment.

Jason scowled upon hearing the term ‘sell’; she had misinterpreted it. This pertains neither to acquisition nor to disposal. All that is required is a puppy.

Upon your acceptance, I shall promptly liberate your family and entourage. I will refrain from taking another’s life; they shall persist in their ordinary existence, however you will be absent. You may depart from my pack once you have delivered your offspring.

Talia neglected her own concerns the moment Jason referenced her family. What had occupied her thoughts? She was prepared to embrace servitude to ensure their salvation. What was the source of her current anguish?

“You will bear my offspring and remain in my pack for an additional three months.”  During this time, I will furnish you with all you need.

Your education, sustenance, attire, and any further essentials you require. Upon your departure in just over a year, you will own a substantial amount of money in your account, enabling you to live comfortably for the remainder of your life in any location of your choosing.

It is a mutually beneficial scenario for all parties involved. My sole desire is a robust heir. “That is my sole concern,” Jason articulated everything for her. “Indeed, you have the choice to accept or decline the funds.”  “I am not purchasing you,” he clarified to prevent any misunderstanding. She seemed to possess a considerable amount of self-respect.

Talia’s heart was racing in her chest. She was ensnared by her own feelings and worries. She was indifferent to the money; she had no intention of receiving it as she was not commodifying herself. Was this the sole alternative? Did she desire to serve as a surrogate for this unidentified male? She had limited options, did she not? However, could she truly place her trust in him?

She remained silent for several seconds while their gazes remained fixed. She had been gazing carefully at his visage. His emerald eyes brimmed with desperation. This surrogacy may be a ruse or a snare. Ultimately, she was unfamiliar with him personally, having only encountered him 15 minutes prior, during which he had merely outlined the surrogacy arrangement.

The two were as distant as the clouds in the sky are from the earth regarding status, wealth, and quality of life. Moreover, they were unfamiliar and antagonistic, lacking any association.

How could she trust him? She was confident that upon hearing Tony’s remarks, Jason would recognise her as a disregarded part of the family. Her recognition as a family member was solely for her father’s purpose of arranging a marriage for a treaty.

Jason did not desire to assault her for retribution, although the surrogacy contract appeared to imply that she was commodifying herself. The poignant memories from her past impacted her emotionally, prompting tears to flow. Despite her desire, she was incapable of accepting his offer.

She promptly averted her gaze and proceeded to leave the room. She wished to avoid crying in his presence and appearing feeble. Jason grasped her hand, drawing her back and resulting in her collision with his powerful chest.

What is the issue? He murmured, a gentle sigh departing his lips. Her breasts were exceptionally velvety against his chest. He was astonished that they were positioned so near that he could perceive her nipples.

He was dissatisfied, particularly with his outfit obstructing him. He muttered an oath. He did not anticipate her beautiful eyes to be brimming with tears. Were his statements the catalyst for their actions?

“Nothing, simply allow me to leave,” she implored, avoiding his gaze as she extricated herself from his hold to access the door.

“Do not deceive.”  “Tell me,” Jason said, placing his hands on her waist and turning her to face him. He abhorred her avoidance of eye contact.

“I cannot acquiesce to your proposal,” she confessed.

“What is the reason?” Jason scowled. He was resolute in his refusal to accept a negative response. If she want to save her family’s demise, she had no alternative but to consent to become his surrogate. “Inform me!” He insisted, mindful not to lose his composure and instill fear in her.

She maintained her gaze on his chest, and notably, she did not endeavour to extricate herself from his hold. He observed as she meticulously raised her shaky left hand, directing his attention to the diamond engagement ring adorning her finger.

“I am already engaged.”  Talia shut her eyes firmly and declined to meet his gaze. She intended to disclose this to him, as he was cognisant of the religious procedures.

She sensed his fury and understood he would break her neck for wasting his time before exterminating the remainder of her family and pack. Despite her virginity, she had been kissed on her engagement day, and Jason sought a chaste woman.

“Consequently, terminate your engagement,” he murmured in her ear. Her eyes expanded in disbelief as she gazed up at him. Terminate her engagement? Prior to redirecting his focus to hers, his green eyes emitted a most malevolent look at her engagement ring.

“Do you comprehend?” He enquired, gently gliding his fingertips around her waist. “Speak, Talia.”

Talia’s respiration become irregular as his hand stroked her hair and cheek. Despite being unfamiliar, she did not see any threat. She averted her gaze and fixated on his chest. She was difficult to concentrate since his touch was exceedingly delicate and kind.
