At this time, her grandfather usually practiced calligraphy in the study. The little girl knocked on the door, and upon hearing a deep voice respond, she entered and sweetly called out to him, “Grandpa.”
The old man paused his writing, realizing he had ruined the piece he was working on, but when he saw his beloved granddaughter, he was delighted. He set down his brush and waved her over.
Moore Audrey cheerfully approached, chatting with her grandfather for a while and playing a game of chess. Eventually, he waved her off, telling her to go play.
Moore Audrey had a fulfilling day, greeting everyone in the Anderton family and being coaxed by her cousins to take a few strolls outside. By the time she returned to shower and prepare for bed, it was already past ten.
The little girl had just finished drying her hair and was about to check her phone for messages after plugging it in when she suddenly heard a creak at the door.
Turning her head at the sound, she gasped and put her phone down.
She ran to the door, bent down, and picked up the fluffy white object, smiling sweetly:
“Ah… Bobby, you came to find me to sleep…”
As she spoke, she hugged the cat while raising her foot to close the door.
The fluffy white cat squinted at her, looking lazy and drowsy.
Moore Audrey chuckled as she held it close, stroking its fur. The cat clearly enjoyed the pampering, starting to purr contentedly.
Moore Audrey lowered her head to sniff the cat for a while, then picked up her phone again to check her messages.
She saw a complaint from Jade, saying that Thompson Miguel hadn’t spoken a word to her since she left, making her wonder if she owed him money.
Moore Audrey couldn’t help but laugh, then raised her hand to reply:
“Shall I send you a red envelope to soothe your heart…?”
Jade was instantly healed and replied in seconds.
Jade: “Thank you, big shot!”
Moore Audrey mischievously sent her a one-cent red envelope.
Jade opened the red envelope and immediately came back to tease her.
They continued to exchange playful messages.
Moore Audrey, stroking Bobby, thought for a moment and then, biting the soft meat in her mouth, sent Thompson Miguel a message and transferred him the money for today’s flight ticket.
After waiting a few minutes with no response, Moore Audrey sighed, feeling a bit disappointed. She planned to put her phone down and get ready for bed.
Just as her feet touched the ground, stepping into her slippers, her phone suddenly dinged.
The little girl’s eyes brightened, and she quickly sat back down, looking at her phone.
To her surprise, it was just a new content push from a public account.
Her face fell again, and she tossed her phone aside, gently placing Bobby in a corner of the bed to sleep.
She lay down on the bed, hugging her pillow and rolling around, then bumped her forehead against the pillow. Suddenly, she froze, staring at the pillow for a moment.
Then she jumped off the bed barefoot and ran to the wardrobe to drag out her suitcase. She opened it and struggled to pull something out.
It was the bear pillow that Thompson Miguel had given her to cuddle with.
She brought it to the bed, stared at it for a few seconds, and then as if venting her frustration, she flicked it with her hand and huffed a couple of times, saying, “That’s what you get for ignoring my messages!”
After venting, the little girl seemed to remember something. She looked at the bear and chuckled softly, then climbed onto the bed, hugging the bear and reminiscing about her time with Thompson Miguel.
Finally, she whispered a few heartfelt words to the bear:
“I will definitely cure your facial paralysis…”
Then Thompson Miguel would be able to smile at her!~
The little girl repeated this in her heart, then sweetly smiled again.
She turned over, lying flat, and glanced at the bear with soft eyes.
Just as she was lost in thought, her phone suddenly rang from the side.
Moore Audrey immediately flipped over and sat up from the bed.
She grabbed her phone and checked, thankfully not disappointed.
It was a video call from Thompson Miguel.
The young girl didn’t hesitate, readily answering the call.
Upon seeing him, she greeted him with a sweet and soft smile.
Thompson Miguel stared at her smiling face, slightly stunned. His index finger unconsciously lifted, slightly distracted; Moore Audrey was quite cute.
Her face looked white and soft, and her sweet smile made one want to pinch it.
Lost in thought, Moore Audrey perhaps felt a bit uneasy, so she couldn’t help but pick up Bobby again and hold her close to her chest for courage.
Just staring without speaking wasn’t going to work. Moore Audrey thought for a moment and spoke again:
“What time did you get home today?”
Thompson Miguel paused, pulling back his scattered thoughts, and looked up at her:
“Two in the afternoon…”
Moore Audrey nodded understandingly, then thoughtfully said:
“I’ve transferred the money for the plane ticket… remember to check it!”
