The boy’s warm body temperature transmitted through his clothes to her, and Moore Audrey, rarely feeling shy, couldn’t help but feel her cheeks heat up, her ears gradually warming.
The boy was very gentlemanly, his fist wrapped around her knees.
Moore Audrey thought he was just taking her home, but unexpectedly, the boy turned his head while carrying her.
Moore Audrey came to her senses and called out in confusion:
“Where are you going?”
Thompson Miguel, without changing his expression, continued walking along his predetermined path, his voice calm: “To the hospital!”
Moore Audrey gasped, moving her feet, and refused: “Forget it, I can just disinfect it and put on a band-aid at home!”
Looking down at the boy’s ear, she added as if to persuade him:
“My physical condition is really good! Scrapes and cuts heal in two or three days!”
However, upon hearing this, the boy paused, his tone slightly cold:
“You’re avoiding medical treatment!”
Moore Audrey felt defeated and conceded: “Alright, alright! I’ll go to the hospital!”
The boy nodded in satisfaction and continued walking forward with her on his back.
When they arrived at the hospital, Thompson Miguel placed Moore Audrey on a bench outside and turned to take the girl to register for her outpatient appointment.
Moore Audrey was surprised to see that there were quite a few people in the hospital tonight.
After a few minutes, Thompson Miguel returned after completing the registration and handed her the appointment card.
Moore Audrey paused for a moment, took it, and was just about to speak when a pregnant woman came by. The girl hesitated, stood on her tiptoes, and offered her seat to the woman, who quickly expressed her gratitude.
Moore Audrey smiled and nodded, then tugged at Thompson Miguel’s shirt and tilted her chin to the side: “Let’s stand over there…”
Thompson Miguel glanced at her, supporting her arm as they moved to the side.
As they waited, it became a bit dull. Just when Moore Audrey was about to doze off, nurses and doctors began passing through the corridor. The girl, bored, started counting the people who walked by.
Blake hummed a tune as he walked down the corridor. When he passed by Thompson Miguel and Moore Audrey, he caught sight of their school uniforms and couldn’t help but take a second look before continuing on with his hands in his pockets.
However, after just a few steps, the man paused, suddenly pondering the girl he had just seen, feeling that she looked somewhat familiar…
As he thought, the man took a few steps back and turned to look at the girl again. After observing for a while, he confirmed his suspicion and asked in confusion:
“Audrey~?”
Moore Audrey froze at the sound, quickly turning her head to meet the man’s gaze, bursting with surprise.
“Uncle Blake!”
The man clicked his tongue, his expression somewhat disapproving:
“Didn’t I tell you to call me Brother Blake?”
Moore Audrey laughed, unrelenting:
“You and my dad are from the same generation!”
Blake chuckled, glancing at her with sharp eyes, quickly noticing.
“Did you hurt your foot?”
Moore Audrey nodded.
The man waved his large hand decisively:
“Come to my office; I’ll bandage it for you. Otherwise, your dad will blow up at me when he finds out!”
Moore Audrey laughed and joked with him for a moment, prompting him to lead the way.
Moore Audrey turned to call out to Thompson Miguel, took a few steps on her tiptoes, and then looked up to see the man standing still in front of her, puzzled:
“Uncle Blake, why aren’t you moving?”
Blake glanced at Moore Audrey, cleared his throat, and looked up at Thompson Miguel, his voice carrying a hint of interest:
“Hey, young man, come over and help the patient!”
Moore Audrey paused, a bit confused, but the man had already turned around. By the time she regained her senses, Thompson Miguel had stepped forward to support her arm.
Moore Audrey, feeling uncomfortable, moved her hand and looked up at the boy:
“You don’t need to help me; I think I can walk by myself…”
