All I Want Is to Hug Her – Chapter 18

Speechless

Suddenly, the headset was filled with shouts:

“Ah ah ah ah… why are you shooting at teammates too!!!”

When the voices of others came through the headset, the two of them finally realized something was off.

Moore Audrey exclaimed, “What the hell?”

Jade looked just as confused, then glanced down at her phone and suddenly slapped Moore Audrey, “Er you started a four-person squad!”

Moore Audrey was stunned for a moment, “…”

In the end, she controlled her character to revive the downed teammate and gave Jade a look. They were sisters who grew up together, and one glance was enough to understand each other’s thoughts.

Jade adjusted her headset and opened her mic, “Hey dude, you go solo!”

On the screen, the person on the other side jumped and exclaimed, “Ah… it’s a big sister! Please take me with you!”

“Are you okay with going home so late tonight?”

Moore Audrey shook her head. “It’s fine. My dad took my mom out, so I’m ‘home alone’!”

Jade looked at her sympathetically. “I feel for you… but your parents’ relationship is truly amazing!”

Moore Audreybeamed with pride. “That’s right… My mom was originally a poor girl. My dad transformed himself into an entertainment tycoon for her. He’s amazing!”

Jade was astonished. “So romantic!”

Moore Audrey laughed. “It is… My maternal family is from a scholarly background, and my mom was raised as a proper lady. When she fell for my dad, my grandfather almost beat him up…”

Moore Audrey chuckled, turning to Jade. “Want to guess when my mom first met my dad?”

Jade raised an eyebrow. “At a casino?”

Moore Audrey nodded. “Something like that. To be precise, it was at a circus. Circuses were just becoming popular then, and my mom was curious, so she snuck out without telling my grandfather.

At the circus, it was very crowded. My mom was short, so she crouched down and squeezed her way inside. She actually managed to get in! My dad was performing as a clown on stage. Seeing a little girl trying so hard to get a better view, he made her a rose…”

Moore Audrey smiled and continued,

“My mom’s eyes lit up. She thought the circus was incredibly fun, and she started sneaking out frequently. After many visits, my dad became familiar with her face. He never imagined that one day, my mom would secretly go to the backstage rest area, to his room, to ask him to be her teacher. But when she saw my dad, she was stunned. She never expected the clown to be so handsome!”

Jade laughed along, teasing, “Auntie fell for Uncle Moore because of his looks!”

Moore Audrey snorted. “I told my dad that, and he beat me up for it!”

Jade burst into laughter.

The venue was quite large. As they chatted, they walked for a while, finally reaching the north back entrance Moore Audrey had mentioned. A man was already standing there.

Although he was wearing a hat and mask, Jade recognized him instantly as the young man they had brushed past earlier.

Her heart skipped a beat. She abruptly stopped, pulling Moore Audrey. “Wait…”

Moore Audrey was puzzled. “Huh???”

Jade looked at the man in front of them with a terrified expression, whispering, “I saw that guy earlier… near the restroom. I didn’t see him leave. How is he here?! He must be a ghost!”

Moore Audrey was startled. She looked up at the man and patted Jade.

“It’s okay… Look, he has a shadow!”

Jade looked up, then paused. He did have a shadow.

Taylor Callum, standing at the entrance, felt speechless. Did young girls these days have such wild imaginations? If you can’t see someone, they’re a ghost?
