The corners of their mouths twitched, and they exchanged a look of disbelief, “…”
Jade continued, “You’re a grown man, and saying that makes me feel embarrassed for you!”
There was a moment of silence on the other end.
The two exchanged glances just as the person on the other side suddenly spoke up, “…It’s okay; I don’t feel embarrassed at all…”
The two were speechless and had no choice but to let him join. As for the fourth person in their squad, by the time they looked, that person had already turned into a box.
Although Moore Audrey and her best friend Jade primarily played aggressively, they also understood the principle of playing it safe when necessary.
However, today’s battle had them both feeling a bit frustrated, and the reason was clear.
It was entirely because of their third teammate, who, while obediently following them, kept unexpectedly stealing kills.
He specialized in stealing Jade’s kills, and since they were in the venue, Jade couldn’t get mad. Each time, it was Moore Audrey who smoothed things over for her.
Moreover… Moore Audrey realized that he actually played quite well… good awareness and accurate shooting; otherwise, how could he steal kills from Jade? Although every time he stole a kill, he would give her a candy, like sharing his good loot, acting as Jade’s mobile supply depot.
This made Jade extremely frustrated.
In the end, they made it to the top five. As they were running, Moore Audrey saw Jade turn around and start shooting, and then… their kill-stealing teammate went down without any mercy, turning into a box.
Then Moore Audrey heard her best friend let out a sigh of relief, followed by her opening the team voice chat with great enthusiasm.
“You trash! Stealing my kills! I’ll remember you, and every time I see you, I’ll shoot you once!!”
Moore Audrey laughed, then looked down to find that both of them had been killed by the poison circle.
The next few rounds were completely chaotic, essentially becoming Jade’s revenge battle.
Dragging their third teammate in, they parachuted at the start, landed, picked up guns, and shot at him.
What Moore Audrey found amusing was that their third teammate was quite boring; even though he got killed by Jade at the start of every round, he still let her play. Although… by the end, he learned to take Jade around in circles before getting killed.
But he was quite an interesting person.
After grinding for a while, the concert finally began.
The crowd grew increasingly noisy, and preparations started on stage, so the two of them put away their phones and waited for the show to start.
The concert ended, but the entire venue was still buzzing with excitement.
Jade, beside Moore Audrey, was incredibly thrilled, incessantly whispering in her ear about how handsome the male Tristan was.
Moore Audrey listened with a sigh of resignation. When they left the venue, she excused herself to go to the restroom.
However, upon reaching the restroom, they found it overwhelmingly crowded. After a brief exchange, they decided to go to the third floor; it was further but presumably less crowded.
They climbed the stairs. Since it was Moore Audrey’s initiative, Jade waited outside.
Less than two minutes later, the phone in her pocket rang.
She answered, speaking lazily to the person on the other end while also letting a young man pass by, wearing a mask and hat.
His exceptional aura caught Jade’s attention, causing her to glance at him. Unfortunately, their eyes met, resulting in an awkward moment.
But then, she noticed something amiss. Just as a realization was about to dawn on her, the person on the phone suddenly shouted, pulling her attention back.
The young man she had been staring at paused. He recognized her voice instantly – this was the girl who had been constantly arguing with him in the game that afternoon.
Her voice was too distinctive, and he was particularly sensitive to voices.
The man’s slender, peach-blossom eyes lifted, a smile spreading across his face. Those who came to this floor were either staff or concert attendees. He never expected to encounter one of his little fans here.
