“She will perpetually desire to be pregnant, you know.” He snorted, thoroughly delighted, before reclining in his chair to converse with Maya prior to her departure with her mother to Rochester.
It seemed that he had abandoned all intentions towards Macky, as he did not glance at him this morning except for a brief greeting. This had integrated Nora seamlessly into the pack. She now occupied her own room on the Alpha level, allowing her to be nearer to the triplets and her employment. Additionally, she and Macky were distanced from Maya, who had been creating internal conflicts for Nora.
Bella informed him about the situation, including Maya’s behaviour around Nora’s boyfriends, and how Nora often felt inadequate due to her younger sister receiving a formal education while she remained a nanny, a sentiment exacerbated by her barely passing her final year of high school.
Macky was indifferent to that; she was his Mate, and he would remain unconcerned even if she were entirely illiterate. This would likely provide him with additional motivation to spend time with her, assist her in reading, and engage in related activities.
He was aware that Bella had provided her with reassurance, and they had been spending much time with Margret and Dani; even the triplets and Halley frequently socialised with them. Macky had proposed to show her a flat of her own, as she now possessed a one-room suite not far from his, for when she was alone.
Bella had urged her to relocate there, and she had been alone for two days. Maya was prohibited from accessing the top floor without an escort, which prevented her from observing Macky.
Lanky was currently occupying the girl and had not denied their cohabitation, while all three had awaited his return to the suite last night. It was late, and they were all seated on chairs on the Alpha floor, an unusual occurrence.
However, Jay-a and the girls prefer to sit and converse after dinner; she arranged for chairs and a coffee table to be brought up from the coffee hub until her ordered set arrives.
It appears she had engaged in shopping, her pack card had finally arrived, and she was rather unreserved in utilising it, indicating she had fully acclimated to her life here.
He felt genuine happiness observing her purchase items independently, without soliciting his opinion or informing him of her acquisitions, which only surfaced in conversation when he discovered the four chairs and coffee table in the Alpha hallway.
He and the guys were aware that Lanky was not utilising Maya’s room; Elena would probably react adversely. Additionally, he had not brought her to his room and was unlikely to ever bring anyone to his Suite, which was reserved for him and his Mate, should he find or select another. Lanky only shrugged and remarked that numerous vacant rooms exist on the first floor.
He was correct; it was the designated accommodation for all visiting Alphas and their units during Mating Balls, along with their pack members.
All three were present when Luke enquired if she was his human mate. He shrugged and replied, “Not that I know of, but I suppose the full moon will reveal the truth.” He did not appear very troubled by the matter. However, he was not deeply involved in any research. He had not been preoccupied with work assisting Franklin; instead, he had maintained his availability during the past week since he began spending time with Maya.
Although she may not be his Mate, it was uncharacteristic of Lanky to engage in casual s****l encounters. No one had remained following his Mate’s demise. To their knowledge, Margaret concurred with them.
Many were wagering on her potential, and they were not alone in this belief. Lanky’s parents were evidently yearning for something that would restore their son’s happiness, rekindle his zest for life, and draw him away from the library and his books.
Lanky’s union with Maya would benefit Nora, since it would allow her to have her sister around consistently, facilitating the potential restoration of their fractured relationship.
