She surveyed her surroundings; two four-wheel drives occupied the clearing, accompanied by an antiquated shack-like structure situated behind them. “Is that the location of our confinement?”
Macky responded affirmatively to her.
What transpired with Mia? She enquired, needed to ascertain, had previously threatened to kill herself, contemplated whether she had indeed done so, but did not remember.
“You went into labour when Luna’s distress manifested, and she is still alive at that time.”
“I will manage that, Bella,” her father said her. “I have contacted Alpha Philip; he is cognisant of the situation and her involvement.” He dispatched an individual to retrieve her. A specialist employed by the council for recovery services, reputedly untouchable, is apparently not going to escape.
It will take them some time to arrive, as they are travelling from Seattle, I suppose.
She is being monitored in a hotel room until that time. She may have already been collected by this time. I contacted him yesterday afternoon.
Bella nodded, distanced herself from him, and was uncertain about her thoughts regarding the woman. She was somewhat astonished that Maddis had not killed her, perhaps because her pregnancy had spared her from his wrath.
She approached Macky, gazed up at him, sighed gently, and then embraced him, saying, “I apologise for leaving you.”
“It is what I desired.” What needed to occur, Bella. “Everything is satisfactory.” He embraced her in return. “I was secure within the confines of the cell, I assure you.” Delighted by it, you, my companion, combat with ferocity.
“I did not wish to abandon you.”
“Everything is satisfactory.” He smiled at her and distanced her from himself. “Let us depart from this place immediately.”
She merely nodded, entered the rear seat of one of the four-wheel drives with Luke, while Benzy occupied the front seat and her father was at the wheel. She observed Lanky and Macky entering the second vehicle, with Brad driving. A glass of water was provided to her, from which she drank.
The journey back to Los Angeles was lengthy. She saw as both Benzy and Luke fell asleep and became unconscious.
“Neither of us slept a wink since you went missing,” her father said softly. “I don’t believe I have ever seen Luke so concerned.” Or vomit as he did.
Bella scowled at it, “Vomit, from what?”She enquired, “Is he ill?”” her eyes moved to him as he slept next to her.
His hand remained in hers; he did not release it even in slumber.
“Not ill, dear girl.” He felt revulsion at the words he had to utter to Mia, aware of your presence, which made him physically ill.
She moaned quietly as she stared at him.
“He didn’t want to say any of that, Benzy and I, even Brad had to talk him into it, he was worried you’d believe what you heard. Think the worst of him, and leave him.”
“Not going to happen, I know he loves me.” Smiled as she gazed at him, it wasn’t just him sleeping, Maddis was also out cold as well. “Also know Maddis loves both Tyler and I.”
“I’m glad to hear that baby girl, your mother and I, Brad.”
None of us want you to ever leave the way you did, cut us all off from you like that.”
“I just left dad, didn’t stop to get any of my things, not even my phone, just got in my car and left.”
“Don’t you ever do it again. Always keep your phone on you.”
“I don’t even know where it is now. I had it when I was taken, but not anymore.”
“Probably destroyed by your captors, I get you a new one.
He watched as she leaned into her father’s embrace, saw as Bradley hugged the two of them. He observed the relief on their cheeks at having her safe and reunited with them. They returned to the location where Bella and Macky had been detained late in the afternoon.
They departed yesterday evening, all of them, to return and recuperate, allowing Jodi to contact Vera and Alpha Philip to address Mia’s containment or punishment. He was uncertain which option would be chosen, although he would advocate for retribution.
He witnessed Mia being placed in a vehicle while holding her child. She appeared significantly older than her actual age, being merely two years his junior, however she had not aged gracefully. He witnessed her falter and almost drop the infant she was holding upon seeing her deceased Mate.
Macky had apprehended her and the infant, thereafter guiding her to the vehicle. She had been weeping continuously, although it elicited little sympathy from him or Maddis. Macky clearly sensed her distress, and the Gamma aspect of his being emerged to either assist or console her in some manner.
