Against the Alpha’s Claim – Chapter 269

His mate

Luke had complete confidence in his wolf; he was unequivocally certain that his beast was recuperating in anticipation of manifesting in his semi-shifted state to embark on a full rampage. He was convinced that nothing obstructing his path would endure, maybe not even Mia. Maddis had already desired to kill her on multiple occasions. He would likely succeed this time; nothing would deter him, probably not even the puppy she was carrying. Unless she posed a direct threat to Bella, that is.

The dog may perhaps save her life, assuming Bella had already escaped; but, even he was unaware of how his beast would react upon encountering the lady who had taken his mate from him.

Time elapsed in relative calm within the cells, interrupted only by Macky’s pacing as she awaited the inevitable arrival of Mia with the man who would take her away. They were unable to evade the confines of the cells. Silver severed their connection to their wolf and incinerated their flesh. Attempting to force the doors open was futile.

Macky, she understood, would be more secure in his own cell, distanced from her, when the situation deteriorated, and she was aware that it would inevitably occur. The mere concept was inducing anxiety with each passing minute.

Neither one was aware of the time, as their phones and watches had been confiscated, and the absence of a window precluded any means of discerning whether it was morning, afternoon, or night outside. The door leading to the stairs illuminated with light, yet it may only be the room’s illumination rather than sunlight.

No one took the initiative to descend to the cells to assess their condition. She could only speculate that the bars were composed of silver or plated in silver, and given their subterranean location, the sole exit was that singular staircase. It seems likely that there was no genuine necessity to descend here and verify their status. It is likely that a guard was stationed on the opposite side of that entrance.

Despite her increasing anxiety from the prolonged wait, she recalled Mia asserting that the man designated for her would arrive before Luke. Neither she nor Tyler appreciated the notion whatsoever. She recognised that there was nothing she could alter regarding the situation.

It was quite improbable that she could dissuade Mia from this course of action; the woman despised her, solely for having touched Luke’s arm once while she had been his Mate. Shed now realised the extent of her cruelty towards the pack throughout her time there. She did not appear to be amiable or deserving of leading a pack as a Luna.

Bella was raised to honour the Mate Bond, convinced that the Goddess united wolves for a specific purpose. They were united by her conviction to enhance one another. To mitigate each other’s shortcomings and to elicit the best qualities in one another. Upon completion, it resulted in a favourable combination.

She believed, based on information from Luke, his mother, Margaret, and even Macky, that Mia had not been raised to honour a Mate Bond whatsoever.

The circumstances of her upbringing were uncertain. Perhaps Luke’s jovial disposition was intended to elicit the best in Mia, but she remained indifferent to it.

Both she and Macky pivoted at the sound of the door opening, subsequently observing three males descending the stairs behind Mia. They were quite substantial and robust, prompting Tyler to snarl inside her consciousness at their appearance. She observed the initial individual brandishing a pair of silver handcuffs, and a wave of horror coursed through her; they intended to sever her from

Когда.

It was no longer merely the apprehension of the unknown; it was the genuine anxiety of being vulnerable and had diminished capacity to protect herself against guys of their ilk. She gazed at them as they approached her. Mia was contentedly smiling to herself. “I informed you that I could procure her for him.”

“It took significantly longer than you indicated.” one remarked.

“His men abducted her before we could isolate her, but I informed you she would inevitably return.” To simply await with patience, she has now arrived.

The supervisor is not renowned for his patience; you should be acutely aware of this fact.

“Bella.” Macky attempted to capture her attention. “They will enter your cell and escort you now.”

She gazed directly at him, feeling no necessity for his words, ‘Mia.’ He spoke telepathically, indicating that they would inflict harm upon her before to delivering her to the other Alpha, who would thereafter attempt to track down and eliminate the triplets after her abduction.

She gazed directly at him. Fear was intensifying within her; those men, Bella, are sure to attempt an assault. They will invade your cell, restrain you with handcuffs, rendering you defenceless, and subject you to their unclean touch, maybe all at once. I am unable to assist you from this location.

Bella, once the cherished lover of future Alpha Luke of the Red Moon Pack, finds her world shattered when she is banished from her pack. Her crime? Striking Luke’s newly discovered fated mate with claws unsheathed—a reflex her wolf, Tyler, cryptically defends with the words, “To protect the pup.” Stripped of her place in the pack and warned never to return, Bella complies, narrowly avoiding the rogue label since Luke has not yet ascended to full Alpha status. Heartbroken and resolute, she retreats to the human world, immersing herself in university life to complete her law degree. Bella carves out a new existence as a successful divorce attorney, far from the pack that cast her aside, the future Luna who despises her, and the secret she guards fiercely—her children, the legacy of a love she can never reclaim. Six years pass in self-imposed exile, but the past refuses to stay buried. When an official letter from the Red Moon Pack demands her return, Bella defiantly burns it, vowing never to step foot in Luke’s territory again. But Luke, now the reigning Alpha, is relentless. He will bring her back, no matter the cost. Bound by the constraints of human law and society, Luke cannot simply take her by force—her prominence in the human world complicates any attempt to make her disappear. Yet, he is determined to claim what he believes is his by right. As their paths cross again, Bella is thrust into a storm of conflicting emotions. Her wolf yearns for Luke, urging her to reclaim the bond they share, but Bella’s heart is torn. She despises the man who cast her out yet still feels the undeniable pull of their connection. To her, Luke’s motives are clear: he wants his heirs by his side, not her. She believes his wolf drives him to claim her, while the man himself sees her merely as the mother of his children, a convenient solution to his legacy. But is that the truth? Or does Luke harbor a deeper love for her that he has yet to admit—even to himself? In the battle between pride and fate, will Bella surrender to the mate bond or stand firm in her resolve to remain free? Only time will reveal whether their fractured past can heal, or if the scars will prove too deep to overcome.
