Luke placed the pooled funds into the man’s hand, saying, “Thank you.”
“You are missing one hundred dollars.”
Luke scowled at him. “This is all I possess; if you prefer, I can retrieve the five hundred.”
Observed the man pocket the item, shake his head, then turn and hastily retreat towards the alley from which he had arrived.
He stood and gazed at the phone in his hand, pressed the power button, and the screen illuminated, revealing no lock screen. Accessed the contacts; found nothing present. Disapproved of it, expecting there to be at least a contact number included.
Burner phone’, Benzy remarked. “We must also await their call.”
“Someone is destined to perish,” Luke growled.
This was precisely why he did not want her here alone, and she had not been either. However, someone had successfully intervened and removed her from his possession. Acquired not only Bella but also Macky.
“We will be unable to take any action, Luke.” Must await the phone call to ascertain the requests presented.
He was well aware of that and found it entirely displeasing. She had been with him about 33 minutes prior, and suddenly she had vanished from his presence. He was unaware of the identity of her captor, the motive behind her abduction, or the demands they had for her return. If they were inclined to return her, that is.
Their relationship had reached a positive state, characterised by genuine happiness and affection, and now this unfortunate event has occurred. She informed him of her readiness to return home and her want to be with him. They experienced a pleasant few days here, dining out together. They had attended a dance event the previous night, and she was smiling at him almost incessantly. She was exceedingly joyful, and he was aware of it; Tyler was allowing Maddis and him to experience her happiness.
They had been alone together the entire duration in Los Angeles.
Maddis and Tyler exhibited self-restraint and refrained from involvement. Facilitating their complete reconnection and mutual bonding. Maddis and Tyler had merely assumed a passive role to facilitate their time together, a fact that Bellay recognised as well.
He could jest with her, engage in conversation, cuddle on the couch in her flat, and simply enjoy her company, reminiscent of their past. It was enjoyable, not just for her but also for him. He could elicit her laughter, provoke her eye-rolling, induce her head-shaking, and inspire her to strike him playfully.
The recent days have been exceptional for them, not just in the bedroom but also during the day and evenings, as they engaged in conversation and spent quality time together, genuinely getting to know one another.
Although Maddis had placed his paws on her, as instructed by his father, Luke awoke to discover his beast in command, with his ear pushed against her abdomen while she slept peacefully. They could perceive a minuscule yet fervently pulsating heartbeat in her abdomen, and both smiled. She remained asleep, and Luke ensured she did not awaken.
He did not have a strong desire to know; it would occur when it occurred. He was not the individual attempting to impregnate her; yet, Maddis presented a contrasting narrative, as his primal instincts were exceedingly pleased. She was only a few weeks pregnant, and he was unaware of her gestational progress when they discovered the triplets.
It is currently uncertain whether Tyler is aware of their association with the puppy. He remained there, and both he and Maddis observed her slumber for an extended while. Maddis expressed his happiness, informing him that the pup belonged to him, not to Luke, which nearly provoked a giggle from him. They were identical, however, Maddis was convinced he had exercised control throughout the creation of the pup.
He had also refrained from informing her of his knowledge, preferring that they discover it independently and convey the news to him when they felt prepared.
Wished she would be comfortable with this early in their relationship. Maddis had a snort in his head; Tyler desires it. He informed his wolf that he and Tyler should withdraw slightly and allow Bella to make decisions regarding herself and her body.
Maddis was no longer permitted to exhibit aggression in his courtship of Tyler. She would be unable to transform until after the pup’s birth, hence Tyler and Maddis could only engage in mating in their human forms at this time. Maddis had scoffed at him, asserting that one can be delicate, but Tyler merely prefers things harsh and forceful.
That is no longer acceptable. You now have a puppy to consider.
He heard Maddis chuckle in his thoughts before resuming his observation of her slumber.
