Against the Alpha’s Claim – Chapter 223

Disrobe Completely

Only Dani will be present here tonight. The other three teenagers scheduled to shift for the first time tonight were with their families, together with Alpha Tomas and Luna Darla, near the woods adjacent to the training site. They wished to prevent Dani from being interrupted or distressed if her shift extended beyond that of her colleagues. Which it was probable to be.

Dani was bundled up in the woods, with snow falling softly and whirling about the vicinity. At some juncture, she would need to disrobe completely. It is not enjoyable for her in the frigid temperatures.

Robyn established a complete privacy screen, with many chairs arranged on the opposite side for attendees to utilise. To endure the situation, it was uncertain if the process would be swift or excruciatingly prolonged and unpleasant.

Only Bella and Robyn would accompany her behind the screen, while Luke, his unit, and Alpha Philip would be seated nearby, awaiting the verdict. He would be telepathically connected to the other three adolescents when they transformed. They were all wolves, and their initial transformations were expected to proceed smoothly without complications.

Robyn had installed a privacy screen, cleaned the most of the snow, and placed a tiny fur rug on the ground for her to stand on, keeping her feet off the frigid surface. A fire was blazing in a pit to provide warmth.

She disrobed, and Robyn enveloped her in a thick blanket, remaining with her to provide warmth as they awaited the situation to resolve. It appears he was destined to be a commendable companion, attending to his human counterpart as diligently as possible throughout the frigid winter night.

He spoke to her softly, attempting to convince her that all would be OK. He expressed his love for her, assuring her that he would never abandon her and that they would attain happiness together. He committed to doing all necessary to ensure her happiness.

Bella perceived the moon’s descent, as did every other wolf in the pack, and observed Robyn gazing directly at her, clearly detecting dread in him. He had probably never encountered this before, nor had she, for that matter. Now that she had become the Luna, it was probable that she would encounter it more frequently.

Upon hearing the initial crack of Dani’s shift, a scream erupted from her as she experienced the first fracture of her bones. Observed her gaze go to her hand as it started to contort, followed by another fracture of a bone.

With each fracture of her bones, a fresh cry of agony escaped her until the anguish became so overwhelming that she could no longer scream, just wobbling and collapsing while attempting to rise. “Try not to resist it, Dani,” Bella advised her again. When she persistently shook her head in negation.

Robyn attempted to maintain her composure and persuade her to acquiesce, although her efforts appeared futile. Dani’s reluctance was evident; her resistance exacerbated the situation for both herself and her wolf.

Twenty minutes later, a light brown and tan wolf stood before her, gazing up at her. Bella knelt before her and smiled softly. “Hello, Pearl.” I extended my hand and caressed her face, gently stroking her silky fur. “You performed exceptionally well, young lady.”

Pearl observed as she turned to Robyn; she instinctively recognised him as her Mate and could now perceive his scent as a wolf. However, it was his Marking of Dani that conferred Pearl to her human counterpart.

She saw as Robyn undressed and transformed into his wolf form, a big black wolf adorned with several white marks on his face.

She withdrew to allow them to familiarise themselves, engaging in mutual olfactory exploration and head contact, yet unable to communicate until Dani reciprocated the marking and established a proper connection between their animals.

Bella observed as Luke, his unit, and Alpha Philip approached the privacy screen to examine the new wolf. Pearl gazed up at them before lowering her head in deference to her new Alpha. Luke reciprocated the gesture with a nod of acknowledgement. Jy-la approached Luke and embraced him, establishing a mental connection as she said, ‘That was dreadful.’

She sensed his arms encircle her. “I know it’s not a pleasant sight,” he remarked, embracing her tightly. “However, it was quicker than several I’ve observed previously.”

“I never wish to witness that again,” she said gently, then glanced up at him. “Nora?”‘

“I am aware,” he exhaled via the mental connection to her. It becomes progressively simpler with each shift. He promised her that after four or five attempts, they would no longer concern themselves with it.

Four or five? She expressed concern.

“Affirmative.” His hand caressed the small of her back, attempting to console her.

“I doubt Dani will be pleased about that.”

“Regrettably, it is what it is.”

Bella, once the cherished lover of future Alpha Luke of the Red Moon Pack, finds her world shattered when she is banished from her pack. Her crime? Striking Luke’s newly discovered fated mate with claws unsheathed—a reflex her wolf, Tyler, cryptically defends with the words, “To protect the pup.” Stripped of her place in the pack and warned never to return, Bella complies, narrowly avoiding the rogue label since Luke has not yet ascended to full Alpha status. Heartbroken and resolute, she retreats to the human world, immersing herself in university life to complete her law degree. Bella carves out a new existence as a successful divorce attorney, far from the pack that cast her aside, the future Luna who despises her, and the secret she guards fiercely—her children, the legacy of a love she can never reclaim. Six years pass in self-imposed exile, but the past refuses to stay buried. When an official letter from the Red Moon Pack demands her return, Bella defiantly burns it, vowing never to step foot in Luke’s territory again. But Luke, now the reigning Alpha, is relentless. He will bring her back, no matter the cost. Bound by the constraints of human law and society, Luke cannot simply take her by force—her prominence in the human world complicates any attempt to make her disappear. Yet, he is determined to claim what he believes is his by right. As their paths cross again, Bella is thrust into a storm of conflicting emotions. Her wolf yearns for Luke, urging her to reclaim the bond they share, but Bella’s heart is torn. She despises the man who cast her out yet still feels the undeniable pull of their connection. To her, Luke’s motives are clear: he wants his heirs by his side, not her. She believes his wolf drives him to claim her, while the man himself sees her merely as the mother of his children, a convenient solution to his legacy. But is that the truth? Or does Luke harbor a deeper love for her that he has yet to admit—even to himself? In the battle between pride and fate, will Bella surrender to the mate bond or stand firm in her resolve to remain free? Only time will reveal whether their fractured past can heal, or if the scars will prove too deep to overcome.
