He perceived Philip snicker in amusement and noted that the entire Alpha Unit erupted in laughter at her remarks. He had not disclosed such information to them or to anybody else. They were all aware now. “I solicited assistance, yet she was unwilling to provide it.” He shook his head. She was imparting a parenting lesson, however he would have preferred assistance prior to the onset of vomiting.
“It was your fault.” She grinned directly at him, clearly entertained by the situation, as he could discern. It illuminated her whole visage, causing his heart rate to quadruple at witnessing her gaze directed at him in that manner. She seldom regarded him in such manner. Maddis immediately sensed her awakening due to his abrupt elevation in heart rate, gazed directly at her, and purred with great intensity at her evident happiness.

He observed the youngsters mimicking Bella’s actions with her hot chocolate, allowing their marshmallows to dissolve, and smiled at them; it was rather endearing. He considered them to be charming.
