Luke regarded her with much exasperation, desiring her to terminate their relationship by calling him back, despite his proximity to her. That was not going to occur; she had terminated the call and departed without commenting on the matter.
She understood the reason for the comment she received this afternoon in his office and why she had been sent there. He was irritated that she had not performed it immediately in his presence. Luke anticipated her compliance, as it aligned with his desires.
However, she was dissimilar to him in that respect. She was not going to discard Tim as Luke had previously dismissed her; in reality, she had learnt about his Mate not from him, but via Benzy and Macky. They arrived and discovered her when she was studying in her room at her parents’ house. She immediately recognised from their remorseful expressions that Luke had found his Mate. He had forgotten her instantaneously. She would not subject Tim to it. He merited superior treatment.
She intended to elucidate the matter to him for his comprehension, to offer her apologies, and to mitigate the situation delicately, executing it appropriately. She attempted to maintain amicable relations, uncertain of the outcome, although it was a pleasant notion.
I would not simply walk away and be silent, nor would I cease all communication with him. Completely disregard him; he does not represent her true self or her aspirations. Her newfound Mate did not diminish the significance of her human friends and acquaintances from her previous existence.
Luke was wandering throughout his workplace, and even Maddis was currently tense. They sensed Bella’s presence; she was located upstairs in the pack-house, on the third floor. They were rather irritated, and when Maddis attempted to contact Tyler directly, his own Mate rebuffed him, even growling slightly in response.
She appeared more irritated than hostile, Maddis observed. It seems that both of their mates desired solitude. He was unaware that they might exclude him as the Alpha, which was novel to him. He would need to enquire with his father on if his mother could do it to him.
Maddis was anxious because, with their Mate Bond intact, he could communicate with Tyler at any moment, just as Luke could with Bella. His wolf appreciated the proximity of his Mate; but, at that moment, Tyler was upstairs deliberately disregarding her own Mate.
An unidentified situation was occurring, and neither party was aware of its nature. Bella had not complied with his request this afternoon and informed him of her noncompliance. She informed him that she would proceed when she felt prepared. He anticipated her compliance with all his desires. Having become Mated, why did she hesitate to swiftly sever ties with her human existence and embrace happiness with him?
Benzy observed him as he paced and prowled, having said nothing save, “I do not believe it will be that straightforward.”
Luke had scowled at him; it should have been straightforward, as they were Marked and Mated, which ought to suffice. She was now his, belonging to him and Maddis. “She’s the Luna now,” he said, seeing Benzy’s silent response, marked by a raised eyebrow.
His Beta was presently resting against the wall adjacent to Luke’s desk, his customary location, observing him, and Luke was convinced that his Beta harboured more ideas on the matter, however refrained from articulating them at that moment.
“Where is Macky?”Luke ultimately enquired after twenty minutes of discontented wandering.
“I am uncertain.” Engaging in despondent contemplation, I presume. We are snowbound, and his human mate is situated on the opposite side of the nation, quite oblivious to his significance to her,” Benzy remarked nonchalantly. “Identical to your situation a few weeks prior.”
Luke exhaled, conceding the point. Locate him. I want clarification on Bella; something is off, as both Maddis and I sense it.
“Inquire with her,” Benzy said, then detached from the wall and proceeded out of his office to locate the pack Gamma. “Benzy,” he cried as he approached the door. Noticing him turn and respond, he enquired, “Have all our men been assembled?””
No. I will leave four individuals to attend to Nora, which should appease Macky for the time being, I think.
“Allow him to select the warriors from those remaining; let him manage the situation.” It may provide him with a sense of agency around his Mate.
“When will you bring her in?”
“I will request Bella to bring her in once the snowfall diminishes, I suppose.” Luke agreed.
“It may be advisable for you to permit Macky to depart and retrieve her personally, boss.”
“I require his presence here, alongside the Luna.” Luke gestured for his Beta to go.
Returned immediately to wandering around his office. He could still sense her presence above; she remained still, yet through his tether and with complete focus, he deduced she must be on the third-floor balcony or in its vicinity, maybe around the coffee hub. It had previously been a location where they would congregate and socialise. He had also observed her in the company of her female friends and her brother at that location. During her upbringing, she had enjoyed being there, and that sentiment likely remained unchanged.
