After Divorce, No Second Chance – Chapter 59

Good fit

As soon as Jacob arrived, he was pulled by Megan Zee to ask about the blind date.

“Jacob Deby, how did it go with my niece?”

“We met today, but it wasn’t a good fit,” Jacob shrugged.

“It must be Josie causing trouble again!”

Megan Zee frowned and complained: “That girl is not practical at all, always thinking about finding a rich man!”

“But rich men aren’t fools. She’s already 27; they would prefer a young girl in her twenties!”

Megan saw through it, and her words were indeed true; wealthy men naturally prefer young and beautiful girls.

In fact, it’s not just wealthy men; all men like young and beautiful women.

However, for most ordinary men, young and beautiful women are a scarce resource, something to only admire in short videos.

As Megan was complaining, the kindergarten was also letting out.

Soon, Macy was led out of the classroom with her classmates by the teacher.

“Daddy, Daddy~”

Macy waved her hand and shouted happily.

Seeing Jacob, Kyra nodded at him and then signaled Macy that she could go.

The little girl immediately ran to her father’s side.

Jacob bent down to pick up his precious daughter and walked towards the Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class parked by the roadside, asking, “Did you have fun at kindergarten today?”

“Yes!”

“What did you learn?”

“Teacher Kyra taught us to recite ancient poems.”

“What poem?”

Jacob asked curiously.

Macy blinked her big eyes, thought seriously for a moment, and then recited in her baby voice, “Geese, geese, geese.”

“Geese, geese, geese.”

Macy kept repeating the first three words, clearly having forgotten the rest of the poem.

Jacob’s mouth twitched slightly; he felt that his precious daughter really had no talent for studying, which seemed to be inherited from him.

“What comes after ‘geese, geese, geese’?”

Jacob pressed, trying to give the little girl some pressure.

“Geese, geese, geese.”

Macy’s big eyes rolled around, giving the impression that her CPU was about to overheat.

Suddenly, her eyes lit up, and she exclaimed, “Geese, geese, geese, iron pot stewing big goose, pluck feathers and boil water, green onions go in first.”

“Daddy, this is the ancient poem Teacher Kyra taught us!”

Not a single mistake, a complete recitation!

Macy pouted, looking at her father as if to say, “Come on, praise me!”

Jacob, however, was left speechless, feeling both amused and helpless.

Geese, geese, geese, iron pot stewing big goose… and that’s an ancient poem??

He couldn’t help but wonder which mischievous child had adapted it!

However, strangely enough, after hearing Macy’s version of “Ode to the Goose,” Jacob momentarily forgot the original. “Macy, are you sure this poem was taught to you by Teacher Kyra?”

Jacob asked, somewhat speechless.

“Yes!”

Macy nodded vigorously.

Jacob sighed and said, “Then listen to Daddy’s version of the poem: Geese, geese, geese, with curved necks singing to the sky, white feathers floating on green water, red palms stirring clear waves.”

“Eh, it seems like Teacher Kyra taught this one!”

Once Jacob finished reciting the original “Ode to the Goose,” Macy’s little face immediately showed a look of realization.

“Then who did you learn that other poem from?”

“Eli Jaxon,” Macy thought for a moment and then named a little friend’s name.

“Learn less from him in the future,” Jacob advised.

“Okay, got it!”

Macy nodded with a smile, then suddenly changed the topic: “I wonder if my aunt will make me something delicious today!”

“I really like the dishes my aunt makes!”

Jacob helplessly patted the little girl’s forehead and explained, “Macy, your aunt has to work; she doesn’t have time to cook for us every day!”

“Then can we let my aunt not work, just like when Mommy used to?” Macy blinked her big eyes and said.

“Then you have to ask your aunt,” Jacob replied with a smile.

“Then I’ll ask my aunt now. Daddy, lend me your phone.” Macy was quite proactive and immediately wanted to communicate with her aunt.

Jacob hesitated for a moment but still took out his phone and handed it to the little girl.

Macy skillfully found her aunt’s WhatsApp and directly sent a voice call request.

“Brother-in-law, is there something going on?” Lara’s voice came through as the call connected.

“Auntie, it’s me!”

Macy happily took the call and straightforwardly asked, “Auntie, can you not go to work?”

“No, Auntie has to work to earn money to support herself!” Lara replied.

“Oh.”

Macy felt a bit disappointed, but soon her big eyes lit up again: “Auntie, I thought of a way for you not to work!”

“What way?” Lara asked with interest.

“Let Daddy support you!”

Macy answered seriously, then looked at her father, seemingly seeking his approval.

Although it was a child’s innocent remark, Lara clearly didn’t know how to respond to it.
