Lara nodded and smiled, “That way, you won’t have to work so hard delivering takeout every day.”
Actually, Lara was a bit worried about her brother-in-law’s delivery job. About half a month ago, a Uber delivery worker was killed in an accident while rushing through a red light on an electric bike. The family sought compensation from the company, but Uber claimed the delivery worker violated traffic rules and only offered a few thousand as condolence money.
At that time, she even interviewed the victim’s family. The delivery worker who was killed was about the same age as Jacob, and his child was only seven years old.
To this day, Lara still couldn’t forget the image of the little boy crying while holding his father’s photo. That night, she even had a nightmare.
In her dream, her brother-in-law Jacob became the victim, and Macy was crying in her arms, while her sister went to Uber to demand compensation. Now that her brother-in-law didn’t have to deliver takeout anymore, the worry that had been hanging over her could finally be put to rest.
“Lara, go teach Macy English.”

After tidying up the kitchen, Jacob returned to the living room.
Actually, this one-room apartment had the living room and bedroom combined.
