“When I win the lottery with five million tickets, I’ll buy one too.” The middle-aged man said with hopeful anticipation. He had been a lottery player for twenty years, witnessing countless miracles, so he believed in miracles.
Five million tickets? What’s that? Maybe in the future, there will be ten million or twenty million! Just go for it.
After all, ordinary folks can only rage in helplessness.
Jacob gave a thumbs up; this guy was surprisingly humorous.
“Daddy, does it look good?”
At this moment, Macy had already stuck the cartoon sticker on the left side of the front bumper. The sticker was of George from “Peppa Pig.”
“Hmm, it looks good.”
“Are there more stickers?” Jacob asked.
“Yes!”
Macy pulled out several more from her pocket, including Peppa, Mummy Pig, and Daddy Pig.
“Shall we stick the whole family on?”
Jacob said with a smile.
“Okay, okay!”
Macy nodded repeatedly. The little girl’s thought process was quite simple; since Daddy said this car would be hers in the future, she wanted to mark it, otherwise, if it got lost, she wouldn’t be able to find it.
So the father and daughter squatted in front of the bumper, seriously sticking all the stickers of Peppa, Mummy Pig, and Daddy Pig on it.
The middle-aged man and the young man nearby shook their heads continuously, unable to comprehend the world of the wealthy!
A luxury car worth over a million, and they’re letting a child play with it like a toy.
Simply inhumane! After a while, all four stickers were stuck on, with George and Peppa on the sides, and Daddy Pig and Mummy Pig in the middle.
The family of four looked neatly arranged, much better than just a lonely George.
Yay! Macy was very happy and high-fived her dad in celebration.
Jacob kissed his precious daughter on the cheek and then lifted her into the car.
The interior of the car was spacious, and Macy could stretch her legs comfortably in the back seat.
Jacob, however, was thinking about buying a child seat, so that Macy would be safer when they went on long trips.
A daughter’s slave must always think of his daughter! Since the rented house was very close to the kindergarten, five minutes later, the U8 had already arrived at the old residential building.
The advantage of living in such an old community is that parking spaces are free and only available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you get off work early, there are usually quite a few parking spots available.
The father and daughter went upstairs.
However, as they reached the door, the aroma of cooking wafted out from inside.
“Hehe, my aunt is here!”
Macy jumped up excitedly. Her first favorite was Daddy, her second was her aunt, and then came Mommy.
Because since she could remember, Mommy had always been strict, and she didn’t want her and Daddy.
However, children have an innate longing for maternal love, especially during kindergarten when kids often talk about their mothers. Sometimes, Macy would feel very down, which is why she told Teacher Kyra Spark in the morning to be her mommy.
“Auntie!”
“I’m back!”
Once inside, Macy changed into her little slippers and ran towards the kitchen.
Hearing the noise, Lara poked her head out from the kitchen to stop Macy from entering.
This familiar scene made Jacob’s lips involuntarily curl up.
Isn’t life getting better? “Lara, did you get off work early again today?”
Jacob asked.
“I went with my colleagues to help migrant workers defend their rights. I got off work after leaving the Labor Inspection Bureau in the afternoon.” Lara explained.
“Oh, I see.”
Jacob nodded, then reminded her, “Next time when you get off work early, don’t cook, or just make some simple vegetarian dishes. I’m on a diet lately, and Macy can’t eat too much after having lunch at kindergarten.”
“Okay.”
Lara nodded and went back to busying herself in the kitchen.
Before long, three dishes and a soup were served on the dining table.
The dishes were sweet and sour carp, pipa tofu, and stir-fried broccoli with shrimp.
The soup was winter melon and pork rib soup.
Just as sumptuous as yesterday.
Jacob looked at the colorful and fragrant three dishes and a soup on the table, then glanced at Lara, who was wearing a pink apron with cartoon patterns. To make cooking easier, she had tied her long hair into a high ponytail, and beads of sweat glistened on her smooth forehead. The evening sun shone through the window, casting a translucent glow on her forehead.
Her smile was warm like a spring breeze, and the loose apron couldn’t hide her graceful figure.
What a charming little chef!
Jacob couldn’t help but feel emotional.
“Brother-in-law, didn’t you go out for deliveries today?”
