“Cillian is my concern, not Ricky’s, so do not fret about him. I will manage him independently,” she states, offering a nervous smile. “If you are unfamiliar with Aldo, it is prudent that I remain silent. That pertains to Ricky, and only she is entitled to reveal that information. It is her responsibility to inform you about him, not mine.”
Jimmy disapproves of her response. If Cillian is her issue, why would he pursue Ricky? He reacts sharply. She is concealing information.
My hands tremble slightly as I grasp the pen and paper once more. “I must ascertain Ricky’s safety. Who is Cillian?” I inscribe.
As she reads the page, a tap at the door causes both Tiana and myself to spring to our feet.
“I will respond to it,” she asserts, restraining me as I attempt to bypass her. “Remain here.”
I, nonetheless, accompany her to the door, disregarding her sidelong gaze. This was Ricky’s residence, and she entrusted it to my guardianship. I must safeguard it.
The witch carefully rotates the knob and opens the door, revealing a young man on the steps. He is around my height, possesses tan complexion, a robust physique, and dark brown hair. His emerald eyes fixate on me, narrowing to slits.
“What are you doing here?” Tiana scoffs, opening the door and looking at him. “How did you locate me?”
Point of View
Who are you?The woman growls, the golden specks in her green eyes shimmering like flames.
“Who is the mongrel, Tiana?” he enquires, maintaining his gaze upon me.
A lethal presence envelops him, and I can perceive his wolf lying in wait, poised to rend me apart.
Jimmy observes that he is a Moonlit Wolf.
“I enquired first, Rowan. What are you doing here? How did you locate me?” she retorts, her fists curled at her sides.
He smirks and brandishes his phone at her. “The advantage of having a 300-year-old companion is her complete ignorance of technology,” he chuckles. Tiana, however, regards him with a dry expression, yet he maintains his composed demeanour. “I placed my watch in your bag. Now…” he states, advancing so that he is merely an inch from her. “Who is the mutt?”
“I have only just encountered him,” she states icily. “Why? Are you envious?” she mocks.
He scrutinises me and smiles contentedly at her, inclining his face so that his lips hover above hers.
“Negative,” he responds with a shrug.
Jimmy mutters, “Arsehole.”
I can perceive her heart thumping in her chest as he softly kisses her lips. The witch noticeably flushes and repels him, while the wolf chuckles at her response.
“Goddess, I cannot tolerate you, Rowan,” she murmurs, the wolf smiling broadly.
“And yet your heart quickens for me,” he exhales, grasping her hand and entwining their fingers. “So… Will you permit me entry or do you desire another kiss?”
“Foolish wolf,” she murmurs to herself. “I cannot believe you pursued me after I instructed you to depart!”
“Not while I am alive,” he snarls, drawing her close to him. “If he discovers your whereabouts…”
“I can manage this independently.”
Before she can complete her statement, the wolf named Rowan abruptly presses his lips against hers, cradling her face in an intense kiss. Mortified by their exchange, I avert my eyes and scrutinise the wall, analysing the minute fissures on its surface.
That is a robust wall we have here, I contemplate. Quite robust… and exceptionally clean…
“Do you comprehend now why I cannot abandon you,” Rowan whispers as he releases the witch, her body quaking in his embrace.
My heart aches momentarily. I yearned to embrace Ricky, to kiss her fervently, rendering her speechless. However, it appears that my time has not yet arrived, and I can only aspire that she would eventually develop feelings for me.
Tiana remains silent as she steadies herself, guiding the wolf into the house and into the living room. He sits on the couch, drawing Tiana onto his lap. The witch objects, but a single kiss from him ensnares her, forcing her to acquiesce.
The wolf surveys the room, his gaze meticulously examining Melina and me.
“You are a Moonlit Wolf,” he asserts while gazing at me. “However, she is not,” he remarks, gesturing at Melina. “What is a Moonlit Wolf doing outside its clan in the company of an omega?”
I may pose the identical inquiry to you…
“He is mute, Rowan. He will not respond to you,” the witch exhales before addressing me. “I apologise for the intrusion. I did not anticipate this fool accompanying me here.”
The wolf smirks victoriously at her, prompting a groan as she wipes her fatigued face and inhales deeply in a futile effort to maintain her composure. She briefly introduces us to the wolf, who seems to be her mate that accompanied her from her trip to California. According to Tiana, he is a formidable Moonlit Wolf endowed with the ability of thought projection, enabling him to manifest his thoughts into tangible objects. Essentially, he can animate anything with merely an idea. As a demonstration, he conjures a colourful butterfly that flutters around the room before alighting on Melina’s head.
