A Betrayed Luna – Chapter 35

The wolf expels saliva

Noel’s Perspective (Jadi’s Father)

Blood seeps from my knuckles as I fixate on the man suspended from a chain on the ceiling, his eyes swollen shut and his visage grotesquely altered. Despite enduring t*****e for the previous two days, the traitor remains silent, and my patience is waning.

I seize the dog by its throat, exerting all my effort to prevent choking it before it can provide the information I require.

“What information did you convey to them?” I hiss, my fingers exerting pressure on the base of his jaw.

The wolf breathes heavily, his eyes filled with loyalty for Alpha John. He would not capitulate in the near future, resolute in his intention to convey his secrets to the Moon Goddess herself. I simultaneously admire and detest his fidelity.

Eliminate him… Arden, my wolf, snarls ravenously. He is of no utility to us.

The wolf expels saliva across my face, while Arden is keen to exact retribution.

“Incorrect response,” I retort, my arms transforming into green vapour.

Upon contact with the wolf’s hide, his flesh erupts in huge, excruciating blisters, eliciting a cry of agony. The gas infiltrates the wolf’s fractured nasal passages and throat, causing his eyes to bulge as he gasps for air. Foam accumulates in his mouth, overflowing down his chin as he starts to convulse violently. He attempts to scream, yet no sound emerges. The veins in his throat protrude, and abruptly, as he gazes at me, his body becomes slack in his restraints.

Rocco winces as the guards detach the body from the chains; he has always disapproved of my use of powers, a sentiment I cannot contest.

“You eliminate with remarkable ease,” Nellie derides, examining her manicure as though I had not just dispatched an undercover Stonecold spy in her presence. “Nevertheless, you were unable to eliminate a contemptible silent dog that attempted to assault your wife!”

I find it amusing that she continues to assert that she was raped. I was aware that Jadi was incapable of inflicting harm on a lady. His mother had rendered him mushy and feeble during his upbringing by indulging him. He lacked the courage to pursue his desires. The boy lacked the ability to articulate effectively and to engage with a woman confidently. It is unequivocal that Nellie made advances towards him, and, in his foolishness, Jadi likely remained passive until he became overwhelmed and fled.

Regrettable… I whisper to myself. It would have been more advantageous for him to assertively grab Nellie, to dominate her as a true Alpha and establish her position. However, the boy was equally as feeble as his mother.

“Are you attending to my words, you insignificant…”

Arden exerts dominance, encircling my fingers around Nellie’s throat and forcefully propelling her against the wall, causing her to dissolve into tears.

“Would you care to accompany our companion over there?” Arden chuckles, gesturing towards the deceased body. Nellie whimpers and shakes her head at me. “I recommend you remain silent,” he retorts sharply. He elevates her visage to my and murmurs in her ear. “Furthermore, when you choose to engage in promiscuous behaviour, ensure you select a partner who may genuinely appreciate your presence.”

“Oh, as if you don’t,” she scoffs. “We created Jaxton rather swiftly, did we not?”

Jaxton, who has remained with Rocco throughout, gags in revulsion.

“Those were the most dreadful two minutes of my life,” Arden smirks, her expression twisting in fury.

“I am displeased with you.”

Arden forcefully propels her into the wall once more, causing Nellie’s eyes to flutter in bewildered disorientation.

“You might be the Luna of this Pack,” he growls across the mind-link. “However, do not forget that you are merely a component of a contractual arrangement.”

“A deal that disintegrates in my absence,” Nellie gasps through my grip. “Recall, Noel. In my absence, my father will reclaim his finances and troops, resulting in the demise of you and the Moonlit Wolf clan at the hands of John Stonecold.”

I tighten my jaw and scowl at the woman I have been compelled to refer to as my wife for the past two decades. Nellie clasps my fingers and tightens my hold on her throat, the aroma of her arousal intertwining with the odour of death pervading the dungeons.

“I relish our playful disputes,” she chuckles, inclining towards a kiss.

She cries out as I tighten my grip, Jaxton rushing over to separate me from his mother.

“Are you attempting to embody a true Alpha now?” I retort as I see Jaxton nearing from behind. “Where was this Alpha when you were weeping on the floor, lamenting a minor burn on your chest?” I scoff. “Even that silent omega possessed sufficient strength to restrain his vocalisations in agony!”

He stops abruptly with his fists clenched at his sides. “You rendered me vulnerable,” he contends. “You penalised me rather than that insignificant mutt! What sort of Alpha prioritises a mere omega over his own son and Luna of his pack? You have brought us disgrace!”

I release his mother and approach my kid, who tries to maintain his composure, however I notice the tremor in his brow.

Hesitation… Arden mutters. Fragility…
