The Alpha within me growls at her as I sprint down the corridor, eager to confront her threats, yet I recognise the necessity of restraining my wolf and suppress him instead. I proceed directly to the kitchen, where I discover Melina diligently preparing lunch for the Pack house members. Every instinct compels me to flee the house and distance myself from Luna Nellie, but I cannot abandon Melina. With no time for elaboration, I seize Melina by the wrist and pull her towards the back door. She strikes at my hand to regain my attention, but I maintain my focus ahead as I usher her outside. Exasperated, she forcefully yanks her hand from my grasp. Stomping her feet, she demands an explanation for my actions.
“I committed a transgression,” I sign. “We must depart immediately!”
“To what location?”She responds with sign language, her eyes brimming with apprehension.
“There he is!”A voice summons me, prompting me to observe a contingent of guards approaching. “SEIZE HIM!”
What actions did you undertake?“ Melina enquires as I seize her wrist once more and flee.”
I sprint with utmost urgency, the guards’ footsteps drawing nearer, while Melina falters and stumbles. She collapses onto the ground, scraping her knees against the debris. As I lean down to assist her, we find ourselves encircled, our escape thwarted by approximately twenty guards. Two advance, forcibly extracting Melina from my grasp and pushing her aside, causing her to fall once more with a groan. A guard seizes me from behind, restraining my arms, while another constricts my neck and forces
Melina endeavours to rise, but a guard strikes her in the abdomen, expelling the breath from her lungs. A deep growl emanates from my lips as she gasps, tears streaming down her face.
“Silence, please!””A guard growls, striking me in the jaw.”
Blood fills my mouth as multiple guards alternately assault me, my wolf growling and snarling, yearning for release to defend itself. Melina silently screams and wails, attempting to grasp the guards or strike their arms, but they merely shove her aside. I shake my head at her to cease, yet she only weeps more intensely, frustrated by her inability to assist me. I attempt to resist, but without invoking my wolf or my abilities, I am effortlessly overpowered.
My left eye is nearly completely swelled, and I have lost sensation in my face by the time the guards relent and cease their attack. Silver handcuffs are forcibly affixed to my wrists, and I am hauled to my feet by my hair.
Suddenly, the soldiers move aside, let Jaxton to pass, with Luna Nellie following closely behind. Her makeup is dishevelled from her uncontrollable sobbing, and her clothing is ripped at the bust and thighs.
Is he the chosen one?Jaxton snarls, his icy blue eyes fixed on me.
Affirmative!”The Luna laments. “He is the one.” He attempted to sexually assault me!
I attempt to voice my objection, but, as usual, my words become stuck in my throat, resulting in a mere grunt escaping my lips. Conversely, Melina navigates past the circle of guards and kneels before Jaxton, vocalising her support for me.
Jaxton, exhibiting minimal patience, swiftly strikes Melina across the face, nearly incapacitating her.
“Please remove this complaining individual from the premises.””He commands, as several guards seize Melina and pull her back to the pack house while she weeps silently.”
Jaxton, with his complete focus on me, seizes my chin and compels me to meet his gaze.
“Convey this wretched individual to the dungeons,” he demands, the sneer on his lips instilling a sense of dread inside me. “I shall demonstrate the consequences of attempting to assault your Luna.”
I observe Luna Nellie, who offers me a cunning smile before she erupts into sobs again as I am taken to the location I dread the most.

The dungeons are situated directly beneath the training grounds, comprising an intricate labyrinth of perpetual tunnels and traps encircling the dimly lit cell blocks. Only members of the Alpha family, myself included, are intimately familiar with the dungeons, which were engineered to ensnare even the most perceptive prisoners. Jaxton guides us along the primary corridor, and we traverse what appears to be miles in utter darkness before glimpsing the illumination of the torches adorning the dungeon walls in the distance.
The anguished sounds of the few captives in their cells reverberate off the walls, instilling a profound sensation of fear inside me.
The odour of death and blood assaults my nostrils, compelling me to suppress a gag as I am pulled to the centre of what seems to be a t*****e chamber. Silver chains, whips, pliers, crowbars, and various other implements dangle from the walls, and my heart plummets as I comprehend the ordeal I am about to face.
